I'm currently waiting for the 5th episode to be subbed, but this series is somewhat heartbreaking.

To watch a girl slowly succomb to her illness, yet still have such a positive outlook on life really does make you more aware of your own life and how life is a precious gift.
nicole
I watch the first three sub episode and it's so sad. Sheesh never cried so much before until now. Drama is so sad.

i agree that this drama is really touching.. i wanted to cry in every episode.. especially watching her parents trying to keep a happy face on for her.. and then the doctor trying to persuade the mom to tell aya the truth because aya needs to know how to use her time wisely...Its so sad that this is a true story.. and those pictures of the real aya in the ending credits are really heartbreaking.. So she fought the disease for 10 years? omg, so unbelievable.
huolihaha

I love this drama. It's sad to see her slowly losing control over her body in each episode. I can't wait until PBfansub release episode 4 in D-addicts.

I`ve seen only one episode so far and I`m already loving it. It`s a really sad show, and the earnestness of the characters makes this series very watchable. I was on the verge of tears when I saw the part where Aya fell on her chin because she couldn`t break the fall with her hands weeping.gif

PBfansubs finally released episode 4 at D-addicts for those that didn't know. I gave up waiting for them and download from another sub team. I'm finally caught up and episode 5 made me cry. Every time I watch it, I think someone actually went through all this in real life. It's so sad to see her struggle with it but never she never gave up. I would never have the courage that she has if I got the disease. Ako is a great sister.

I think it is by far one of the sadest series I have ever watched. I have cried at least once in every episode! I just watched episode 6 today and I can't wait to watch episode 7. Does anyone know if that diary that this series was based on was ever published and translated into english?
cookie---crumbs
I watched the preview for episode 8 and it's so heartbreaking. I actually shed a couple of tears just watching the preview. I'm going to be crying a litre of tears when I actually see the episode. I can't wait until it comes out.
swt_ladybird
ah, this series is so emotional......the story line is so real n touching.i watched up to about 9 episodes already, episode 10 is going to be so sad, i saw the preview for it n its really touching.

Yeah, considering most to all japanese dramas are 11 episodes, the end is coming. Man, this is really a sad drama that people should watch. It's real sad especially when the main points of survival are for reals even if the characters and some of the plot isn't. You know what I really like and think is sad about this drama? The producers actually quoting from the diary and using the real Aya's pictures...just to show you guys, this sh*t is for reals.
Wengkee16
Yeah it's a very emotional drama. I think that ryo is getting better in acting.

i just watch ep. 9 today~ can't wait to finish this drama.
the story line is really good. i actually cry on almost all eps. definately the best tearjerker drama i've watch, esp the fact that it is based on real story.

btw is it only me or does the female main actress really look like kyoko fukada sometimes?
x.pinkee

heppy
i've just seen epi 10 today.. smilie2.gif bawling.gif

so super sad!!! watching aya is just too heart-wrenching.. all that she wanted to do yet cant makes me feel so much more fortunate than her.. n that seeing her fall into despair n wanting to give up makes me bawling.gif she's so sensitive n sensible.. too sensible in fact.. that she don't wanna pull any1 down.. she seems so lost so lonely that my heart ache for her!! T.T

oh btw.. asou-kun look nice in this epi.. ^^
junkpro11

heppy
aww i love this pic.. but the epi is T.T

i prefer aya with side parting.. but anyways she still look so cute.. hahaha asou looks very GOOD in that epi too! tuxedo.. hahaha
shir
honestly, I can't believe Ryo is like, 21 now? Is that true? I swear, he looks like he's 17. MAX!
Anyways, I think that the parents are amazing actors/actress. I mean, how they act out their own strength and resolve to help Aya! They must have been really strong people in real life!
tigren
I love this show so much. I cried every episode. I'm still waiting for episode 10 to be dubbed. I can't wait. Now I'm trying to find more Jdorama to watch that will compare to this one. So far there's no luck but this is the best drama I watched all year.
impression151
Just finished eps 11...so sad, though not as sad as the other episodes. But everything HAS gone downhill. I'm sure you guys know what's gonna happen but umm...yeah, its sad.

Something I noticed and it's not really a spoiler. Somehow, she's actually talking alot more fluently in eps 11 than eps 10; weird.
heppy
epi 11 is very T.T
i think it's the epi i cried the most(cant really recall though since i cried alot in most epis =P).. very touching.. aya.. i'm sure every1 will not forget her.. she made me realise n value the things i have.. hmmm yeahh.. i LOVE this drama~
shir
it definetly is a really sad story. it's even more sad that there are actually quite a lot of ppl who go thru the same thing and even till this day, medicine can't do anything to help them!
jlove1831
I just started watching it yesterday and I'm already on episode 6. It's not melodramatic like some Korean dramas are, it's soo good...I'm getting my tissue box ready =/
poochompoo
i finished the ep.10 quite a while and do not need to imagine the deep sorrow for the last episode! wavecry.gif
Aya, gan bate te! lmao.gif
GhstDreamer
It's an excellent series - one of the best to have came out and subbed this past year. It's actually not a cookie-cutter formula like many jdoramas tend to be. I cried soooo much when I was watching episode 10! I can't wait for episode 11 - I know I'm going to start crying again.
MokaGirl
So far, Ive only seen episode one. I bet it would turn out a really good drama. Still d/l the remaining episode. Seems like I have to prepare a box of tissus next to me.
lil_cute_hamster
it's so sad man... love this series very much... it gives the audience a feeling that even the simplest things turn out to be very hard when u have a sickness like that... it's so sad.. has a lot of morals.... really proud of the girl who fought it.... now... i really wanna read her diary... it our in jap... but cant read jap... guess i'll have to wait until it comes out in chinese or english...
watching the series is just so depressing sometimes... couldnt stop crying from the 3rd episode onwards... still got 2 episodes left... its so sad... never cried so much in a series before...
sunshinegrl511
I really love this drama! I felt sympathy for Aya but I was strengthen by her determination to overcome the hardships of her disease. I'm going to miss it since the final episode has came out. wavecry.gif wavecry.gif For those who are looking for 1 litre of tears with english subtitles, go to http://www.kiokukonseki.com/mambo/. They have the whole series done!
poochompoo
just as imagined before start watching the finale, it's truly Litre of Tears weeping.gif

aside from Sawajiri Erika, Yakushimaru Hiroko did her splendid job as aya's mother.

junkpro11
i finished watching the series last week.....i miss the drama..hopefully therez a drama just as good in the upcoming year....this drama is the most tearjerking drama i've ever seen (even more than crying out love in the centre of the world)..i cried in almost every ep

hope this drama win some awards...well at least give sawajiri erika best new actress or sth, because she really deserves it
zeroandone
i finished this drama yesterday and wow....it is unbelievable. it was my first japanese drama and i immediately fell in love with it after episode one. it tugged at my heartstrings and actually brought me to tears. it was so so so good. i look forward to rewatching it.
babyblueangel
unbelievably good! wow..

I was really hurting when Hiro said he was ashamed of aya. I.. .. when Ako stood up for her sister i was crying so hard. it was such a powerful scene.

I will never forget this song, Remioromen- Konayuki...
vanggirlie
yea this was one of the best dramas of the year for me. especially since ryo's in there too. everytime ryo cried i cried. there were some really memorable scenes too. i'll miss haruto and aya...and ryo since he won't be in any drama for a while.
berries8
At first I don't want to watch this because of all the comments that it's such a sad serie. Knowing me I'm a mega crybaby who cries at the smallest things, so if I watch this I'm going to bawl like crazy. Well I'm going to watch it finally b/c of all the good comments and of course Ryo!!! Clubbox is so slow...hic hic but it's def. worth it.
vanggirlie
yea you have to watch this drama. it's sad but it's not depressing. it's more like melancholy (and i love that feeling).
berries8
Yeah, and it teaches you to value and appreciate life. Life's too short!
chocolat_kisses
i first started getting into this series because a lot of people were talking about how good it was and ryo seems to be really popular lately, so wanted to check it out ^.^

but it was worth it, i loved the whole plot. i think the fact that it's based on a true story makes everything more magical. its really too bad that the real aya didn't have someone like haruto though, he's so incredibly sweet~ =)

in my opinoin, ryo did an okay job, his character didn't really need much emotions i guess?

in comparison, i liked this ending more than the nobuta ending. but iunno..i guess i wished they gave an ending to haruto + aya...

but for sure it was a really sweet series~ and i literally cried watching every episode.
deviant_child
This series was soooooooooooooooo freaken sad. It's a freaken tear jerker that's for sure. Very touching! I loved how they had the real picture of the main character fighting the disease on the credits. <333 I swear she was superly strong. Some parts were heart breaking. But this gives everyone a better perspective of those who have a incurable illness and that we should help them as well as encourage them.....

This drama was also hot COS RYO WAS IN IT! <333 HE WAS SO FREAKEN NICE!! <3333333333
gocchin56
I watched 3 episodes at one go, cried more than 6 times and the next day when I woke up, my eyes were swollen.. How can a show be so sad.... wavecry.gif
dee duckie
i've only watched the first episode but the drama looks very promising. although i usually tend to watch romantic omedy dramas, i think i'm going to like this even though i heard that the drama is extremely sad, and i'll probably cry a litre of tears by the ed of the drama.

plus the starring couple are cute together.
