this has to be one of my all time favourite series. it was one of the first series that i actual felt sad for ;( the music in the series was good matched the sad setting too.

i guess they didnt mention Haruto during the last episode was because he's a fictional character. When i knew that Asou was made up; it made me even sadder and wonder about stuff. Like how the real aya could have gone thru so much; esp during her high school days.

Now, i hope someone will translate her diary into English. I'll defitnely buy it.

this is my fav drama ever . very very sad and based on a true story . i liked how at the end of each ep they showed real images . too bad no english translation is out for the diary

I'm watching this series on tvb (Hong kong) at the moment, damn it's sad.

The theme song Only Human is so fitting as well. When I first heard it, i thought it was Ken Hirai that was singing, they sound so similar!

1 Litre Of Tears is one of my favorite drama right now. there were some sweet scens of Aya and Asou Haruto in this drama. I like when he said, "What this feeling is 100% not a lie." the ending was so sad though.

i finally watched 1litre! man i used all my kleenex... i started crying during the 2nd episode... but i was sobbing during the last 2 epsodes! wooh!!!

woooo this is such a sad and touching show.. but I wish they could have elaborate on Aya and Aso love story (though Aso's character is fictional), I read it somewhere saying Aya's mother request to add some love story in the show for her daughter as she was never in love in real life.

Hello everyone! This is probably my first post in AF forums. Anyway, I just watched finished the whole 1 Litre of Tears j-dorama yesterday, took 3 days to watch it finished. I felt that overall, the story was indeed a sad one and to also know that the story was based on a true one makes it even more sad. But I got to confess something though(don't scold me after reading this ), I did not cry throughout the entire show like many people did after I have read all the 11 pages on this topic, however, the show made me felt really sad and heart-breaking while I was watching it, never felt like this before when I watched any type of drama shows, gonna feel bad for the next few days, and btw, this is the first jdrama I have watched in my life! The entire cast did a great job in the show, especially the female lead actress, Erika, she's really pretty IMO and she has done a great job in acting as Aya. Gonna catch her next drama called taiyou no uta, something to do with her being a musician yea?( I am a guitarist myself anyway ) I really admire her parents in the show, amazing and wonderful acting to portray those emotions, her father is one hell of a funny character , his expressions and words are just able to tickle my funny bone in the entire show, but during those sad scenes, he also does it well and so does the mother. Anyway, kudos to such a great jdrama, probably the best I have watched this year, and I will definitely be watching it again sometime in the near future! Cheers!

I'm sooo angry! I just read on wikipedia that Indonesia made a copy of One Litre of Tears without any credits or rights! They just copied it! Some fans are complaining it to Fuji TV but no responds yet.. They used the same story! Aya is replaced by Nayla or whatever and Asou is replaced by Moses. The title is Buku Harian Nayla (Nayla's diary instead of Aya's diary). I'm so angry! How can you copy it without any copyrights? This is not just a fiction, this is the story and thoughts of a real girl! How can they simply copy it?! It's not just the story! Even the characters are the same.. Nayla is suffering from a disease called Ataxia which is the same as the disease of Aya, and she is also a very talented basketball player! I was like: WTF?!

ive just started watching this drama and im now on ep 6 already...my 1st jap drama and it doesnt disappoint. i kinda wish j-dramas were longer tho..il be so sad when it finishes.

but that indonesian version looks dodgy!! it is just a copy! cnt believe its not credited...they're completely destroying the original.

I disagree.. even though they're copying everything, that Indo series is a piece of bullcrap.. NOTHING can compare to the original (story, characters, cast, music)

I hope all the people involved in the Indo production gets what's coming to them

wow i finished watching in 2 days..
so unbelievably sad....really couldnt stop the tears from flowing. one of my fav dramas of all time now.
i love erika...she's such an awesome actress at portraying the effects of the disease

i just finished watching this in two days. it was really sweet. JDRAMAS are amazing. they are short, but much more straightforward and less draggy. this drama really made me think about the purpose of my own life. The story of A Litre of Tears has a great meaning to it. it stressed the importance of family and put romance as secondary to life. the actors were great even the supporting ones. i also liked the song in this drama. it is so bittersweet.

yeh i would rather they be short than extremely dragged out and boring like some korean ones. but short j dramas also leave u wanting more!

litre of tears definitely has a deep meaning...makes anyone appreciate what they already have and how lucky they are already just to be alive and to be able to walk and talk

I've finished watching this drama months ago and it still eaves a lasting impression on me. I've watched a lot of Jdramas and this one is gold (whether K- or C- Dramas). It's got such a beautiful and heartfelt message to it. Amazing, cast, beautifully done. its definitely one of the best out there because its so pure and real. NOt like a lot of dramas which are filled with cheesy storylines/acting. FAVOURITE.

YUP it really is THAT good...
i doubt u will ever see another drama quite like this one...
it is sad yes but not the typical depressing dramas...the mood and feeling of this is quite different and there's quite a few funny moments too.

Just finish watching this series last night and I must say, the final episode wasn't as sad as I thought it would have been. But all in all, this drama was done really well. I really enjoy watching these types of movies/dramas that were based on a true story. Erika did a really good job in portraying Aya. The supporting cast wasn't bad, but there could have been room for improvements.

I would definitely recommend this drama to anyone that enjoys watching touching-type of genre. Just be prepare to shed some tears.

this drama has nv failed to pull my heart each time i watched it. the girl reminded me so much of kyoko fukada. but still i love both actresses.

One of the best dramas, it's my favorite. It's so sad that is so good too. I finished all the drama in 2 days and the choice of the music and OST is awesome.

But I think the ending is too sad, the ending can be that Mizuno, the neurologist, find a cure for Aya and she didn't die. In all the sad moments, they can be have a shine at the end, it's not that difficult.

So a big 10/10 for this drama very recommended.

I think I started crying after the 2nd episode... after that I just couldn't stop... all the way to the end.... the series was beautiful and inspiring...*wipes tears*

To start off...this was the first Japanese drama that I have seen and I am glad I choose to watch this series...makes me want to watch more jdramas now..

Anyways...
I really liked this series...it shows how precious life is...sometimes we are so busy with life that we forget the little things we take for granted...like walking or talking...This series did a great job laying out the life of Aya and her disease...It touched my heart that she continued to fight to the end regardless of the pain and suffering she went through...She had such a supportive family as well... The doctor that was in charge of her was also wonderful...he never gave up hope and tried to help her in all ways possible...and Haruto...he was such a prince...sticking up for Aya and seeing her inside out till the end...what a cutie...

My favorite part is...when Haruto carries Aya down the stairs when everyone in her class discusses about having her leave the school...and she leaves like she was okay with it...

The saddest part...when Ako yells at their brother (I forget his name) for being ashamed of Aya...

Overall...I loved the series...
