my mum and i can actually sob for every episode..
and this drama is nevertheless motivating too...but still it's a really sad story =(

OMg this drama was soo sad~ I almost cried 1 litre of tears every episode while watching it. It's a wonderful story with a courageous heroine, a drama that REALLY worth watching.

1 Litre of Tears is very sad both the DRAMA and MOVIE are really sad. Asae Oonishi (who plays Asumi in the disability school in the drama) plays Aya in the Movie and she did a really good job but she had to limit her disability lookingness in the drama because even though Erika played Aya she wasn't able to make it look really convincing than Asae but she is awesome as well her crying scenes are awesome! ERIKA SAWAJIRI FTW! even if she has a forty year old boyfriend I still support her!

You can watch the movie on crunchyroll. It is actually based on the diary (like 90%) but the drama is based around 60-80% of the diary and contains alot of fictious scenes. You can read the diary at www.xanga.com/onelitre ^^

this drama was so sad, I cried in almost every single episodes and the characters all acted well, I couldn't stop watching it once I started and end up finishing the whole drama in one day it was so crazy, all the struggle she had to overcome and her family dealing with the illness was touching

It was surprising to see nishikido ryo cry so fast and so easily... maybe because his character is usually so cold throughout the course of the drama... and then next thing i know, i have tears running down my face. hehe.

the song was pretty cool. i wanted to cry the first time i heard it and saw the lyrics, because it summarized every sentimet into one sweet piece of music. it was ironic the first time aya's class sang the song.... the next time they sang it together, it was comforting... and the last time, when the children sang it, it was bittersweet, sort of like "goodbye".

awwww this drama is so sad! i cried like on a few episodes .. uhhhh the drama is better than the movie though. i would soooo watch this again but i don't want to cry again

It`s always making me cry.
At first, I can`t believe that this drama is a true to life story, `cause I`ve never heard of the disease and it`s like an "impossible disease".
I still haven`t finished watching this but i`ll try to finish it.:]

i just recently watched this drama...yeah i know im so late watching this... and im proud to say that from episode 2 till the end..i never failed to cry...like so much tears came out.. almost 1 litre of tears..
all of the cast is so great/fantastic...they really give justice to their character...
especially the ending theme where every endings,there are photos of Aya Kito..before she got the Spinocerebellar Antrophy and while she's suffering from it..
If it was me...i dont know if i can go on..honestly..
this was the very first drama that i cried so much...

I don't think I could still wait for GMA to air this so I'm here @ YT watching episode 1. Based on the feedback, I'm pretty sure this is going to be a big hit here in the Philippines where people loved watching drama's in primetime.

i recently finished watching this...i cried buckets! it's so sad...this is the saddest drama i've ever seen...it's a really good drama, the only thing i did not like is that i wish aya and asou-kun got married...

No matter how many times I have watched this series, it only brings more than 1 liter of tears in my eyes... geez... so sad and depressing yet very really realistic, touching and inspiring. I admire how Aya's whole family stick together to give her thorough support and courage in fighting her disease. And also, Asou-kun. He loved Aya despite of everything and chose to stood by her until Aya slept to eternal rest.

The Japanese/English subbed is way better watching than its Tagalog counterpart because when I try to watch it in GMA, I think the dubbing lacks emotion. And music plays a big role in making a certain series more dramatic and also to convey more feelings. I'm disappointed that in scenes that music is needed the most, the people responsible for the Tagalized version, chose to turn it all off. Anyway, that's just what I noticed. Just disappointing.

i really cried so much on this drama. until now i still get teary eyed. im not the type who cries easily. but this really touch me so much. i was touched by her family. i also learned so much from aya. i admire everything about her. especially her courage and faith to accept and still continue living despite everything that has been happening.

i agree with elizabeth, i think GMA never justified the whole drama. the dubbing lacks everything. its as if im just watching it and not able to feel anything. its very disappointing that's why i dont try to watch it anymore, it just make me so frustrated with them.

lol~ zaikenhuo! that's the reason why i don't watch this series in public! it took me overnight to finish the whole 11 episodes and the drama special watching it in my celphone... by that, i could cry whenever i want in my room.

I cried so much in the special drama.. To know that this story is true, it inspires me in so many ways. I know I have always wanted to be in a medical area when i grow up because i want to get rich but this story made look at it the other way. Sad but very inspiring. Made me realized a lot of things about my life: health, family, friends, special someone.

Erika played her role very well. And RYO!!! At first he didn't have the striking appeal. But as I went on watching each episode, he was getting more and more HOT! Plus, great acting from him. Just right, not very remarkable but not trying hard at the same time. JUST RIGHT.

My heart just melts when I see RYO cries.

This is something I can recommend to others.

this is not erika's first acting gig, only '1 liter of tears' is the first drama that she's portraying the main role. she's been around in the acting scene since 2003. she landed in 'hotman' as one of the supporting casts at the time followed by 'Hitonatsu no Papa e' in the same year.

this movie makes my emotional come out, everyday i watch this movie in TV it makes me cry when Erika(Aya) acts,it`s really awesome hope that erika will having more movies like this.

i've given up searching for the full version of this show featuring the '1 Liter of Tears' cast. and um... i think u spelled it wrong... it should be 'waratte iitomo.' should be double 'i' instead of double 'T'.

One Litre of Tears is MOST DEFINITELY my favorite dorama of all time. I doubt anything will change that fact for a while. Sometimes, dramas have those moments in them where I feel like fast forwarding through scenes, but for me, One Litre of Tears had none.

I agree, 1 Litre of Tears is an AMAZING drama, it's incredibly inspirational and emotional. I really recommend it, I think it's probably one of my most favourite dramas ever. No drama has ever made me cry that much ever, it really makes you think about life and how we should never take anything for granted, etc.

Ehes, I loved Erika and Ryo's acting in it, they were so adorable together in the drama, and it really convinced me that everything was actually happening. To know that it was a true story in real life as well, that just made me want to cry even more. It's so touching. ♥

haruto asou is only a fictional character of 1LOT. which means, there's no real haruto asou. also notice that the drama used IKEUCHI as aya's family name instead of KITOU. yes, it is based on real life of Kitou Aya-San BUT she actually didn't had the chance to fall in love when she was alive that's why the story of the drama somehow revolves in the love-angle between aya-chan and asou-kun. it's like answering the question, "what if aya get to experience love while she was still living with this disease, would the guy leave her or will he choose to stay by her side until she was laid to rest?"

the only real characters in the drama are aya's family and dr. mizuno.

all i can say,i love this drama,i'm not that crying girl when watching a drama but this drama was different ,for consecutive days it made me cry...only the second drama that made me cry like this...*sigh* it really touched my heart...

I suddenly had this urge to rewatch this drama, so I'm starting from Ep.1 right now - I know I really shouldn't because everytime I watch this, it basically sucks up all my energy from the crying!!! But my eyes won't listen to me, they're already watching... hehehe...

No matter what, Erika Sawajiri is a brilliant actress, and I hope she'll return to the filming world again. But this drama would've been totally different if Hiroko Yakushimaru hadn't been casted for the mom.

Okay, now I'm getting ready to cry buckets!!!
