Do you get influenced by hype from other people, into watching specific TVB series? "Hype" can be somewhat like propaganda or advertising in a way.

If this is confusing, what I mean is for example, if you see or hear that a lot of people are saying such and such serie is really good, would you be influenced by them, and pay attention to that that serie? For example, say you go into a discussion forum, and there are discussions about how "War and Beauty"(pretend WAB is a serie you haven't seen yet) is such a good serie, how it is very thought-provoking, very well done, such good acting by Sheren Tang....does it make you want to watch War and Beauty? or think Meteor Garden: all that hype from fans, did it persuaded you to watch it?

If you are easily influenced by "hype", what gets your attention more? The cast....by saying "so and so is such a good actress in a serie" or "the whole cast displayed such good acting!"

or just plain "that's such a classic serie done by TVB" or "well done serie by TVB"

or more along the lines "it's thought-provoking, intellectually challenging"?

To me it depends,if a lot of my friends say that particular series is good, then I might consider watching it. Else, if I didn't get any feedbacks from anybody, then I have to do some survey like checking out the storyline, the casts, and maybe have a look into the preview so that I can get a clearer picture of the series.

i sometimes get influenced by the "hypness". but usually i just read a summary of the series and i will consider watching it or not.

Nope...cause I usually only watch series with the casts I like so no matter how good or bad the reviews are, I'll still watch it for the sake of my favorite people.
