I don't know much abuot Anita. All i know is that she's dating julian cheung; i think they are still together? I've seen in her a few movies. She did alright.

i kindda of like her cos she's quite natural on screen... believe she has diverted her career to china which many of them are doing the same thing... the china market there is REAL HUGE...

Anita's "12-year old boy"

When Anita was filming “Gu Lian Hua” in Shanghai, the director found Anita chatting animatedly on the phone & thought that she was talking with her brother. Then, Anita told him that she was actually speaking to her “living Buddha”. Sometimes, she would even be on the phone a few times a day, if not everyday and she would always have lots to talk about with him.

Although ChiLam and Anita has been together for many years but there has never been any news of Anita being pregnant before. Anita has always said that, “she’s living to give birth to children”. The strange thing was, 5 years ago, Anita dreamt that she really gave birth to a baby boy. She could see the boy’s face very clearly – he was very handsome with nice, long slender fingers. As she doesn’t know what it was supposed to mean, she went round asking people to decipher the meaning of her dream. Some of her older relatives told her that it was good news & that it meant, “Goddess of Mercy (Kuan Yin) sending her a child”.

Then, 2 years ago, when Anita went to Nepal to pray(she is a devout Buddhist), she found that a 7-year old boy sitting next to her looked exactly like the boy she had dreamt about. And he even has the same slender fingers too. She showered all her motherly love on him, giving him chocolates, etc. & called him “my living buddha”.

Anita Yuen Wing Yi earlier appeared in the Mainland magazine. Yuen Wing Yi in recent years has been focusing on the Mainland market and her popularity in Hong Kong has plummeted. Lan Lan did not mind though. She felt that Hong Kong people might be forgetful but she believed that her fans would not forget her. In the future China will remain her base as she would not consider any Hong Kong film for now.

Recently the Hong Kong film industry has started a rescue. Lan Lan felt that Hong Kong's problem was the lack of unity. Many people have offered her Hong Kong film roles, but she did not want to make any. In China, a series takes three months to make, each workday is 12 hours long. Actors have ample time to discuss the script, to understand each other. Perhaps she is stubborn, but she truly can no longer make a movie in two weeks or 20 days. Eric Tsang Chi Wai has also called her a "b*t*h" for not making any Hong Kong films. She did not mind her popularity dip but she minded that her own acting lacking effort and quality. You all should know Anita is Chilam's girlfriend. Maybe that is the reason Anita does not work for TVB, just try to avoid working with Chilam... so, we probably will never see Anita starring in a TVB series, such a pity... Well... but to see Anita, you can rent her movies or Taiwanese series, a lot of them are really good, especially in the movie "He's a Woman, She's a Man", costarring Lesile Cheung. Anita plays a woman who dress like a man and became a famous "male" pop star with Lesile's help. Anyways, Anita's character is really amazing and surprisingly different in that movie

Comedy Skills: B+
I think Anita is very good for comedy roles, like the one "He's a Woman, She's a Man", that character is really fun to watch. Also, some of her Taiwanese series are pretty funny as well, such as "Mr Winner" with Dicky Cheung


Crying Skills: A
Pretty much in all her series or all her movies, she has one or more crying scenes, the reason why: she is good at it! I don't know how she does it, but she can be really depress sometimes, and cried very well

Anita looks really pretty with her smile! I wish she can smile more often, but some of her characters are pretty serious, which you don't get much chances to see her smile...

A very late reply but it was in 1990. Anita is still one of my favourite actresses even though I haven't seen any of her works for the past few years. The last one I saw was the Taiwanese serial "Hua Mu Lan" where she co-starred with Chiu Mun Chiok.

Anita was a top actress in the 90's and was featured in just about ebery major film and has costared with HK biggest legends like Leslie Cheung, Stephen Chow, Tony Leung Chiu Wai, and Andy Lau. But nearing the late 90's her popularity had plummetted drastically and she is curently not very active in Hong Kong cinema anymore.

From 2000 to present she has only been in a total of 3 movies:

Kung Fu Girls (CHINA 2003)
Love Trilogy (2004).

Nowadays she is mostly doing TVB or taiwanese TV series. The last I saw her was a long time ago with Richie Ren in "Chor Lau Heung 2001".
