Gigi Leung: Surounded by fans, missed her flight

Gigi Leung was promoting her new album "Gift" in Guangzhan yesterday. She held an autograph session for 500 fans in the evening of the event but 7000 people turned up instead. Some of the fans have been waiting from midday. Gigi didn't want to disppoint her fans and she overstayed for two hours. She originally planned to catch a flight to the next town but was surrounded by more fans when she arrived at the airport. Hundreds of fans were at the airport exit blocking her. As a result, she was delayed for more than an hour and missed her flight that evening. Gigi had to take the next available flight in the morning. Although Gigi missed her flight, she was not very upset about it. She was happy that her fans were there to support her.

Charlie Yeung and Gigi Leung: as twins for breast cancer awareness

Charlie Yeung and Gigi Leung are the ambassadors for "HER2-type breast cancer" awareness. The other day, they were having the photo session for the promotion. Both of them wore very similar outfit as if they were twins. They are hoping this promotion would help to raise the morale for the sufferers.

Charlie urges all women in Hong Kong to pay more attention to their own body, in particular, to detect breast cancer early. Gigi also reminds all the women to have regular body check, specially their breasts so that treatment can be started as early as possible if breast cancer is identified. She also stressed that women should have all the information about breast cancer and system in place to support sufferers. It's "mother's Day" today, Gigi and Charlie suggest that it would be more meaningful for people to donate money to the treatment and medical care for "HER2 breast cancer" patients instead of buying presents for their mothers.

Hi Jupi. I listened to her radio interview in Cantonese. Very interesting what she had to say about wanting to act in historical dress as Empress Wu. I think she'd look great, but a lot of people might think she's too tall. I always thought she'd be perfect if they ever re-made "The Golden Swallow". What did you think about the MV she directed? She has a lot of talent. I hope she'll be able to direct a movie very soon.

Gigi Leung: Needing to lose weight quickly

Gigi Leung, Vincy Chan,William Chan, JJ賈曉辰 and Skye Chan attended the "Able-bodied and disabled-friendly Awards" opening ceremony. This activity aims to encourage people to nominate outstanding voluntary workers for the award. Gigi watched the Paralympic Games, World Championships disabled sports competitions in the Beijing National Stadium last year. She was very impressed with the athletes. Gigi told reporters "It was my first time to attend this event. When I saw the athletes running with their artificial limbs, I was so moved. It is not important whether they came first or last, it's the spirit of participation that is the most important. I applauded them." Gigi also disclosed that she went to visit some children with disabilities in the mainland last year. She saw some of the abled children piggybacked children with physical disabilities to school, she was so touched. Gigi stressed that the facility in the mainland is not very adequate in term of supporting children in need. In comparison with Hong Kong, we are better off.

Gigi revealed that she has been busy promoting her new record in the mainland and Taiwan. She has put on 10 pounds in weight due to eating a lot of the local cuisine, therefore need to lose weight once she has finished her promotion.

Hm.. I don't think I have heard that interview, I don't remember she said anything about she wanted to potray empress wu but I would be really happy if I could see Gigi acting in ancient style that would be so cool, really want to see how it looks likes. Well the only problem I think if she potrays it is to find a match actor to her which looks good in ancient style and are taller than her.
I think the MV she directed was good, you could see differense between her style and the other HK directors which I think it's good ^^

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's hard to match her with actors. There just aren't that many tall actors around, especially ones who look good in ancient dress. Maybe someone like Daniel Wu. He's about 185 cm I think. Probably some taller actors in China like Hu Bing, and Taiwan like Peter Ho. I think they would look good with GiGi.

Gigi Leung, Myolie Wu, Kate Tsui and 500 singers appeared on "Jade Solid Gold" the other night as guests. Gigi looked as if she has put on a lot of weight. She disclosed that she has been busy promoting her record as well as eating a lot. She has to go on a diet to lose some weight as she will be filming a new series soon.

Gigi said she does look fat when she saw herself in the magazine. She hasn't appeared on "Jade Solid Gold" for a while and her fans have been complaining that they hardly see her in Hong Kong. Gigi told reporters "Maybe I don't produce many records nowadays. When I released the mandarin record earlier on, I saw all my fans and I missed them very much. Gigi was in Taiwan recently and the paparazzi had taken some pictures of her and a guy together browsing in a book shop. Gigi clarified that he was not her new boyfriend because they have known each other long time ago. Gigi launged "It is common to have dinner with friends. Three years ago, the paparazzi took his pictures and said he was my new boyfriend. I think they had forgoten about it that incidence because they reported he looks like my previous boyfriend. In fact, its the same person. I laughed after I read the magazine." Gigi was asked if they would be together, she replied "Not at all, don't worry about me, thanks for your concern."

Gigi Leung can't stand the smell of baby's dirty diaper

Gigi Leung was promoting her new record "Gift" in a shopping mall yesterday. She was having an autograph signing session as well as celebrating "Father's Day" activity. Gigi was in the judging panel for the "Almighty Father" contest. The contestants competed with each other to change their babies diapers. Some children started dirtying the diapers, Gigi shouted "The diaper stinks, I feel sick." She pinched her nose and escaped to the corner of the stage but luckily she did not throw up. Gigi praised the fathers who remained calmed when cleaning the mess. She smiled "I need to borrow my friend's baby to practice changing diaper when I have a baby in future."

Gigi sang her new song "Missed" yesterday with so much feelings and the reporters asked why was she so emotional? Gigi smiled and said the reporters were exaggerating. Gigi went on to say that each time she was promoting her record, she always sang that song. Gigi started filming another movie in July. Since entering the entertainment industry, this is her first to act in an ancient movie and wearing the ancient costume. Hi Jupi. Filming in July will be 死心不息 a supernatural thriller in which GiGi plays a writer who has strange experiences after having a heart transplant. I read that director Jeff Lau will do a semi remake of "A Chinese Odyssey: Pandora's Box" starring Ronald Cheng and he will cast GiGi as 盘丝大仙 (the role played by Athena Chu in the original). Her agent it still in negotiations about the project but it'll be a very different role for her. Very exciting!

Gigi Leung was invited as guest of honor to attend yesterday's "Yan Oi Tong Charity bowling tournament 2009" in Tuen Mun. Guests including Rain Li, Athena Chu, Ella Koon, William So and HotCha etc were there too. Gigi revealed that she hasn't been bowling for 2 years since she started having her nails manicure. She had been bowling with Andy Lau and Hacken Lee in the past and her best score was over 200 points. She remembered when she was bowling with them, they were always surrounded by fans. Gigi Leung has been dating Sly, her French boyfriend secretly for three years until recently, it was leaked out in the open. Yesterday when she was attending an activity, she admitted that he did propose to her and her ex boyfriend Ekin Cheng has sent his congratulations to her. Gigi is hoping her relationship with Sly will get better and better.

Gigi, Alex Fong and Chrissie Chow attended "Golden Song" activity organized by Radio Hong Kong. The activity raises the issues of caring for the elderly. Talking about her secret love affair has been surfaced, and her boyfriend even proposed to her, Gigi responded "It was all talk, he did mention about marriage, but he didn't proposed to me officially. I am not in a hurry to get married, moreover he is a westerner and our cultures are so different. I need more time to get to know him better, at least 3 times as long. By the way, Kelly was dating for 16 years before she got married!"
