I have attached some pics below as well. Though I would like to apologize because I only took a few shots.
Anyway, here it is.[NOTE: The following story that you are about to read happened in REAL LIFE & in REAL TIME. Promise! ;-) ]

A 'WOOKIE' AFFAIR TO REMEMBER

PLACE: EDSA Shangri-La Hotel
DATE: July 22, 2006 (Sat.)
TIME: around 12:00 - 12:40 p.m.
12:00 - 12:05 = Wookie Goes Down The Tower Wing
There were only a few of us (fans) waiting at the main lobby of the hotel hoping to catch just a glimpse of LDW oppa. So we positioned ourselves in front of the information desk, chatting happily and waiting excitedly for oppa to pass by in front of us.
Suddenly, a very tall guy in white was seen emerging from the Tower Wing's elevator going opposite from our direction. IT WAS LDW OPPA! At first, we were caught by surprise because we were thinking, 'how come LDW oppa was going to the opposite direction?' But we didn't have the time to ponder on that. So we ran and followed after him as he and his companions entered the HEAT Restaurant. When we reached the main door of the restaurant, two hotel guards prevented us from entering and told us to stay where we are. (Which was perfectly understandable because they knew we're not there to eat. Plus there were other customers eating inside.) But during that time, all we could think about was LDW oppa. We tried to plead with the guards but they didn't listen to our pleadings.
The only thing to do was to look at him through the glass windows.
12:05 - 12:30 = Wookie's Eating Time
From the glass windows, we saw LDW and his people positioning themselves on the other side of the restaurant (over-looking the hotel's pool). So, we ran outside and went near the pool area. We saw LDW oppa already seated at his table, but his back was turned against us. [See Pics #1a & 1b]
Two hotel guards came with us. At first, I thought they would tell us two leave. But they were just there to see if we're not doing any unacceptable behavior. C made a promise to the guards that we would only take shots and not make any noise. Seeing that we were a bunch of 'behaved' fans, the guards just stood beside us and watched us take our pics and/or videos. Since LDW's back was turned at us the entire time he was eating, we had to be content with a lot of back shots. But golly! Even his back looked handsome! *_*
Some fans/on-lookers already left the place, but our small group remained in that area. Even though we hadn't eaten our lunch yet, watching him eat was good enough for us.
After he finished eating, he and his people stood up and left their table. We thought he was going to leave so we ran towards the main door of the restaurant. It turned out that they went to the other door of the restaurant to the smoking area.
12:30 - 12:35 = Wookie's Smoking Time
We tried to follow him to the smoking area. But the hotel guard told us that it's his smoking time so we should not disturb him. So we ran again and positioned ourselves by the poolside (behind the bushes) and took our shots away while LDW and his companions smoked. (Note: I HATE smokers, but I still LOVE LDW nonetheless.) After finishing his cigarette, he stood up [See Pic 2] and his companions led him inside the restaurant again. This time, we were sure that he was going to exit at the restaurant's main door. But we were wrong. His bodyguards led him to 'another' exit door of the restaurant. (Oh shoot! Where are they going to take him??? >_<)
12:35 - 12:37 = From the HEAT going to his van
We had no idea where the secret exit could be. But we tried going to the West Entrance/Exit of the hotel. And right on time, we saw LDw's people emerging near the Jewelry store. We ran as fast as we could and followed them but they were walking so fast. I wanted to say something but I became nothing came out of my mouth. All those Korean phrases which I practiced slipped my mind. Fortunately, K shouted "OPPA!!!" and I just followed her and shouted "OPPA!" as well (though mine sounded a bit lame because I was too lost for words). We were just hoping for him to turn around and wave at us. AND HE DID! He turned and waved shyly towards our direction. They were still walking too fast, but we had already caught up with them. I ran in front of them and took this shot [See Pic 3]. This time, we were within oppa's arm reach, but I was afraid of his bodyguards so we just continued following them outside going to his van which was already parked outside. LDW entered the van, but before they closed the door, I managed to take this shot [See Pic 4].
12:37 - 12:40 = Waiting Time
Their group didn't leave the place right away because they were waiting for some of their companions who were still inside the hotel. Since there were only about 10 of us (fans) left, his bodyguards were not very strict with us being there (which was a big advantage on our part). Even if the van has dark glass windows, that didn't stop us from taking shots[See Pics 5 & 6] or just staring at his handsome profile. We just couldn't get enough of oppa! Every time they would open the van's door to let in another person, we would take the opportunity to catch a glimpse of his handsome face. (*_*)
12:40 = Wookie's Departure Time
When everybody from his group had settled inside the van, his bodyguards went to the other vehicle parked behind the van and they left the place. But before the left, we waved and said our goodbyes to oppa and we saw him waving back at us. (*giddy*) Then, just like a dream, he's gone.

That's the end of my (our) Wookie experience. I'll forever savor every second and minute of those precious moments that I saw him.
As I was writing this down, I suddenly remembered Joo Yu Rin's char. in "My Girl" saying, "You'll be blessed!" And YES. I was blessed to have seen LDW oppa.
I came to the hotel hoping to see just a little bit of him. But it turned out to be more than what I had expected it to happen.

Crazy over 'Julian'
My Girl's Lee Dong-Wook has become 'one of us'

Say, "Lee Dong-Wook is here" and many people will ask, "What?" instead of "Who"? Say, "Julian is here" and a throng of fans immediately crops up. Each of the fans will survey the venue to find where their Korean Idol, lead of ABS-CBN's My Girl, is.
That's how Lee/Julian's popularity can be described these days. Julian/Lee is a typical heartthrob. He's tall and handsome. But he's fair-skinned rather than dark.
As if you don't know, Lee is the young executive who wants to grant his grandfather's request to see the latter's granddaughter, Julian's cousin. She lives in Japan.
Much like the genie in the fairy tale, Julian holds the key to improving his grandfather's deteriorating health. Though he tried his best to locate his cousin, Julian's efforts are not enough. Out of desperation and exasperation, he hatches a plan and hires Jasmine to play his long-lost cousin.
She agrees and Jasmine temporarily lives in Julian's house. They discover the best in each other and fall in love.
With his endearing looks, plus the goody-goody role he plays in the Koreanovela, Lee has become popular among Koreanovela fanatics and his character, Julian, has become a household name.
ABS-CBN brings Lee in town to meet his fans and see for himself how big his fanbase here is.
"This is my first time here," says Lee in Korean at the presscon given by ABS-CBN. "I never expected the warm reception."
Before showbiz, Lee was just a high school student, with simple needs and wants. He enrolled in an acting school and auditioned for TV programs. Unlike other actors, he was never discovered nor approached by a manager. He worked hard on his own. After all the attempts, Lee finally made it and entered showbiz at 18.
As the cliché goes, the rest is history.
In Korea, Lee is a heartthrob and a fast-rising star. In terms of popularity and perhaps achievements, he is the equivalent of Piolo Pascual hereabouts. Aside from My Girl, Lee has done TV series like Hanoi Bride and Loving You. He is also in the country to promote his recent movie Arang, where Lee plays a detective who handles a mysterious investigation. His character is offbeat.
Asked who is the better actor – him or Rain of A Love to Kill, Lee replies, "Rain is already popular in some Asian countries. He plans to try Hollywood. There's no point of comparing Rain with me or vice-versa."
With his popularity, it's not surprising if ABS-CBN cooks up a TV or movie project for Lee. And he says he'd love to do it.
As for Arang, an ABS-CBN official says Star Cinema executives are discussing about its possible release in the country.
As an actor, Lee has tried all the acting genres. He says that he is closer to the character of Julian than the one he plays in Arang.
"Julian is shy and mum when it comes to showing his feelings and emotions. The detective character, on the other hand, is far cry from the real me. He is very complex. I had to be prepared psychologically and mentally for the role."
How does he find the Philippines? Lee replies, "It's known for beautiful places like Boracay and Cebu. On my flight to Manila, I found out that you have a beautiful sky."
Lee doesn't only find the Philippines beautiful. He finds the women gorgeous, too. He says, "there's a possibility that a Filipina could be my wife."
With swooning girls and ladies around, Lee ended the presscon on the right note.
He proclaimed, "Mahal ko kayo."
Did we hear someone sigh?

Wow! Da A cant help but smile and giggle in your stories! lucky u! i was in edsa shangrila this morning hoping I could see him eat breakfast but unluckily its already 9am and no sight of wookie still....
since i need to go back to the office, i had to leave. but i saw some other fans waiting for him! and indeed they were able to see him i think around 12:30-1PM today, Monday!
almost fell in my seat when I read that at soompi!!! this is my last chance to see him, but i was unsuccessful!!! if i only took a half day leave, i might be one of the lucky people who saw him!
hope he'll come back......and if ever that happens, will do everything just to see him!

I hate the interview of Oppa with Kris Aquino. All the question she ask was the same question in TV Patrol and Wowowee. He even called Oppa a liar because Oppa might be lying in the girlfriend issue! If she only asks this question, I might enjoy the interview (I enjoyed the interview with Kris Aquino becasue Oppa was smiling and laughing!)

I did not enjoy also because all they asked were dumb questions. Far from how korean interviews. And they don't even bother have a background check of LDW, asking if his parents are still alive, gosh so annoying... and even on how to pronounce his name correctly... anyway important is he knows he has lots of fans in the philippines, he will be back for sure...

just a 'short' story of my trip to abs..
friday after office i was in a real hurry to go to abs. arrived there at 6pm. unfortunately, the guards won't let us in
since we don't have a pass.. so MR.B & i decided to wait for LDW at the hallway of studio 3. the guards told us to back off just a little because they told us that LDW will pass there. so instantly the we-the fans got excited! but u know what? the guards fooled us! LDW passed on the other side. man! it was badtrip! but u know what i did? i run as fast as i can to the hallway from where i was (opposite side of LDW entourage) going to the lobby (because he was supposed to exit there). just in time! i was able to catch him and took pics of him (share it w/ u guys tomorrow)! hehehe

Haha, well -- I have DSL, so yeah. I just hate YouTube, because I don't like the quality. I'd rather download the high-quality and full versions so I can watch them anytime I want to because I saved them into my computer.
YouTube is great, but not that great.
Why can't I edit my reply? Does anyone else have this problem?

Haha, yeah -- we all noticed that he was in the Philippines long since, darling. I mean, we all knew he'd be going there weeks before he actually went there.
I hope he stays there longer. It's Monday today and he's supposed to leave, but they said that the weather is looking bad for airplane flights and he might have to stay another week -- but that's just a rumour.
Everyone! I finally had the time to watch The Buzz! Haha! SO GWAPO! Goodness! He makes me smile so much! He keeps fanning his face! Heh heh, blush na blush eh. CUTE! He actually knows some English words. *sigh*
Annddd I got to watch Rated K special! CUUUTEE! I love it when he says Tagalog words! And I love it when the girls start screaming when he talks...CUTE!

Julian of My Girl is here in Manila! The first and true home of Asianovelas in the Philippines, ABS-CBN brings the viewers of the hit Koreanovela closer to their favorite international stars! Supporters of actor Lee Dong Woo aka Julian, swarmed the ABS-CBN compound for just a glimpse of the Korean hottie. His shy smile and gracious answers during his press conference yesterday made him more endearing to his followers specially the females.
Staying in the country for 4 days, Dong Wook is also in the Philippines to promote his very first movie, Arang. The suspense thriller, which also stars famous Korean actress Song Yun Ah, is based on a Korean folklore about a Minister's daughter who died defending her honor when one of her father's servants attempted to rape her. Arang will retell the tale in a more up to date setting. Lee Dong Wook will be playing one of the detectives who got involved in solving the case. He describes his character as very complex, a far cry from his character Julian on My Girl. It was psychologically hard and it was a great challenge for him as an actor. He thinks his personality is more like Julian, a bit serious and ‘shy around girls.’ His most memorable scene on My Girl was when Jasmine or actress Lee Da Hae gets the star on top of the Christmas tree. "It was really freezing that day. My hands and feet were frozen!" he shared. "But I also enjoyed our kissing scenes." he added playfully.
At only 25, Lee Dong Wook has come far from his debut as an actor when he was just 18 years old. He humbly described himself as a ‘simple high school boy’ in his junior year. He wasn’t blessed like other actors who easily entered the business when they were discovered by talent scouts. He enrolled in acting school and went to one audition after the other until he landed an acting job. "Acting isn’t really easy. That’s why I am always trying my best," he told the press through an interpreter. He likes reading books or spending time with friends, like actor Jo Insung (Memories of Bali and Spring Day), whom he has known for 7 years.
Lee Dong Wook was also pressed on his knowledge about the Philippines and he promptly answered, "Cebu. Boracay." He also shared that he practiced a few Filipino phrases a few days before but since he was placed on the spot he sort of forgot it. But before the presscon ended he managed to recover from his mental block and was able to muster "Mahal ko kayo" and "Salamat" which got cheers from the crowd. He also answered a fast ‘No.’ to the question if he has a girlfriend. This time he got all the girls in the room giddy. He then apologized for not being able to shake hands with everyone for he had a workout injury 3 days before his scheduled trip and had it in a cast.
His entourages’ next stop would be Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. But not before he visits Willie Revillame on Wowowee tomorrow July 22 and has a one on one interview with Kris Aquino on The Buzz on Sunday. Don’t dare miss the Korean heartthrob’s appearances on ABS-CBN!

avid_fan, how were you able to get in there? During the special fan appearance? I just watched it -- CUTE! I swear! You're so lucky! I love the way he smiles and laughs -- makes me giggly so much! And him waving to his fans -- so nice. I heard a girl screaming when he was waving at her...heh heh. So he was there just to get his pictures taken from fans? LUCKY!
I love it when the girls scream whenever he talks or whenever he says something in Tagalog or in English. Makes me faint. Heh.
