Wow, seriously? I don't have the June issue, but the May issue of J-stars magazine still has four members... can anybody clarify?

Aside: does anybody know HOW many variety/sitcom-ish shows on SET are dominated right now by J-star members? I mean, there's WQYL, Big Bear Doctor, and I think there's another variety show by 5566 (I saw clips). Also, how long has Big Bear Doctor been running?

Also, a lot of other shows on SET are by J-Stars, right? WZBQW, AQMFS, probably the 5566 dramas, etc. Is this because SET is owned by Jungiery or something?

It depends on where you live. If you're in Taiwan, Singapore, maybe even the Philippines or HK (not sure), you can just walk into a magazine store. If you're elsewhere, maybe someone in the forum from Taiwan could buy it for you, and you could pay for it + shipping. Otherwise, try http://www.yesasia.com. It's kind of pricey, but they have a TON of J-Star magazines... even ones from a year ago.

Wasn't J-Star created to be kind of like the Chinese version of JE entertainment? That's what someone told me. I'm a big fan of the Johnny's Entertainment groups so if J-star is anything like JE I'll definetley listen to it.

Ke Wei is not part of a group, instead she's just like one of those models that are attached to Jungiery... she does a lot of things with the rest of the group, but she's not attached to 7F, which makes sense, because I don't feel that Ke Wei's image would do well with the rest of 7F

ke wei image does not suit 7 flowers at all.. imagine she is in... haha... jungiery has lots of model lah.. some even to become the artiste. the models in jungiery arent exactly left forgotten. they are made to attend shows as well.. i tink ke wei went to SNTGD too..

Jstars' model does have alot of work given to them too.. jiayu, kewei and zixuan all have acted in some shows, and for zixuan's case, she's been in many jstars' MV, especially 183, and in 5566's short music story..

I even have to say that sometimes they get given more jobs than some of the other Jstars thats in a group eg. taiji/lala/typhoon or even kone

Actually James is Jacky's older brother not Victor Loved the way you described the seperation of 7F, Lolz Poor Zai Zai got kicked out after she got shot kissing Toro in a car and Wei Ru was a model beforehand, she said so herself on a variety show.

I know that Sun Zhong does tend to favour the boys of Jungiery especially 5566 and 183 Club but I'm sure K One is still working on there third album.



Qiao En and Shao Wei are filming Rock, Paper, Scissors and once Xie Zhi comes back from his filming in China he and Qiao En will star in "Xia Nu Ai Da Mao", I think Meng Zhe is in the Phillipines filming a show {Or was that a while ago?} K One are still working on there album and JR mainly hosts WQYL now, all the J Stars {Except 183 are going to gether for a summer event - all of them are partnering for a summer event Jungiery planned but 183 aren't going to the main gathering for some reason}

I think those getting the most work are 183 Club since there promoting there new album and whatnot but all of 5566 are filming

think 183 can't go cuz of their indonesia concert today lor.. probably left for indonesia yesterday or maybe they had to rehearse for the concert.

My favourite J Stars getting discovered reason is Qiao En's, it's very very Qiao En-ish and fits her to a T, she was standing on a chair yelling at someone I also know that Xiao Qiao, Ming Dao, Shao Wei and Yu Rong were models, Yu Rong had released an album but his record company had financial problems luckily he was discovered by Jungiery. Jacky won a few vancouver singing competitions and moved to Taiwan where he released an album which didn't do well but like Yu Rong, Jacky was also discovered by Jungiery, that's about all I know

i read an old article that WEI RU was discovered in the GUESS GUESS GUESS show... wo cai wo cai wo cai cai cai... she was a contestant or something.... then she got into a commercial endorsement with panasonic... and starred in a jay chou video "QING TIAN" where she is spotted by jungiery.... or something like that.. not really sure with this info... pls correct me if i'm wrong...

Yeah, I can imagine the scene when Qiao En was scolding someone and then the talent scouts interupts their arguement and asked her if she wanted to join the showbiz. Qiao En is so cute!!!

As for the others...
Well, ShaoWei was a soccer player who became a model (he also starred in a really short film or something). Ming Dao... I didn't realize he was a model before... I saw footage of him on Cai Cai Cai... I thought that was how he was discovered (although it's possible it was by a modeling agency first). From there, then, I guess he went on to host Mao Xian Wang and aroused Sun Zhong's interest. That was when he was asked to join 183Club. WeiRu was discovered (although not by Sun Zhong) on Cai Cai Cai, and XiaoJie was also discovered on Cai Cai Cai. From an interview I saw, I think K-One was doing some choreography and back-up dancing work for artists (including Jacky Wu Xian Ge) when they were "discovered." XieZhi (5566) was a Taiwanese (Tai Yu) singer for a while without much success (he's been "out" in the "circle" for 11+ years, he said)... after he came back from his two years of service in the army, some other stuff happened (not sure), then he was quickly discovered by Sun Zhong and signed. Kyle (the really little kid from LaLa who is acting in Xing Ping Guo Le Yuan) was the national skateboarding champion... I think he was also the first to participate in an international competition and win something, too... and so Sun Zhong snagged him.

Jacky won a singing competition in Vancouver, was runner-up at the "International" level... and then moved to Taiwan to pursue a career in the entertainment business. I don't remember which came first-- his album or his modeling-- but he did spend several years as a model. His CD didn't do well (neither did his brother James'), and they were both dropped from their respective labels. YuRong released an album, as said before, and modeled, too, but his record company went under. He also acted in an NC-17 film with Stanley Huang (no, he didn't play a homosexual... that's just the only other person I know in the movie). Actually, it's sort of sad because then he worked for a travel agency, but that went under, too, within 6 months, so he didn't even get paid for his time there! 183Club was just MD, XS, and SW for a while... Jacky and YR were added later.

YuRong was also in one of those music-video/movie short films with Amei. He was actually quite good in it, but you wouldn't really recognize it. It was like one of those "music love stories" that Jstars are fond of... but it was a lot more dramatic and intense (imagine a whole movie crammed into 15min) with Amei's songs instead.

And yes, Jacky has modeled at one point, I remember them teasing him about it (although I don't know why) on WQYL once.

Xie Zhi was quite successful as a "Tai Yu" singer before his two years service in the army. His 1st album sold 200,000 copies (had 3 albums as "TY" singer). Sun Zhong knew XZ even before he join the army but because of different mgmt he can't sign XZ. But when he set up Jungiery, the 1st person he wants to sign is XZ.
Ren Fu was previously in a group called Postman (not very successful) which is also under Sun Zhong but this was before SZ set up Jungiery.

That's really cool about the J-Star store in Hong Kong.

I'd say XieZhi was "mediocre successful." I mean, he wasn't a total washout or anything, but he never became hugely famous, as a lot of TY singers actually do (Jiang Hui, Wang ShiXian, Si WenBing, Yu Tian, Luo ShiFeng, Sheng WenCheng, Xie JinYan, Tsai QiuFeng, Li YiJun, Wu Bai, etc., etc., just to name a few off the top of my head). My mom listens to TY music, and she'd never heard of Sun XieZhi before I started listening to 5566. However, as you pointed out, he didn't flop or anything... otherwise, he wouldn't have released three albums. He also made some pretty important/influential friends during this time... like Peng ChaCha. Anyway, actually, I didn't realize he'd sold that many CD's... when he talked about this time period on variety shows, he said he spent a lot of time by the phone waiting for his agent to call him (inferring that he wasn't "hong"/famous). I will say it IS pretty hard to make it as a TY singer, though... especially if you're young and new. Some TY listeners only like their old favorites, and, especially 10 years ago, TY music wasn't as popular among young people. Anyway, I'm not trying to say bad things about XZ because I really like him... but I just wanted to point out that the TY music industry is a totally different playing field/style from the Mandarin.

Anyway, if anybody wants to see footage of XieZhi when he was 17 (just "came out"), a clip of it was recently featured on HaLin Guo Min Xue Xiao (08-21-2006). Johnny, Jacky, and YuRong were also on that episode. They cook! Also, I just gave away the answer to one of the questions asked on the show ("name that celebrity in history"), but that's all right.

[spoiler]I was really surprised by his hairstyle, first of all. I prefer his current one, but the one he sports in the clip is the one that all the idols of that time period pretty much had. Also, I was really impressed by the clip... he "mo fang" (imitated) three different stars' dancing. If you're not familiar with that "period" of music, you probably won't think it so impressive, but actually, he does a REALLY good job. Especially with his face blotted out (they do that on the show... otherwise, how easy would it be to guess who the celebrity is?) and his hair like that, I seriously almost mistook him for one of the guys he was imitating! Anyway, here are the three guys: Eric Suen, Alex To (he's in Tian Shi Qing Ren/Angel Lover with Ming Dao), and Wallace Zhong HanLiang (he was the guy in Meteor Garden who was by the sea and looking for his lost love).[/spoiler]

I really like this show, btw... I'm glad 183Club went on it. Usually, it's a bunch of celebrities I'd never heard of before, and some of them are pretty annoying. It was exciting to see the guys cook. They gave them an easy dish (the other contestants complain about it... they compete in groups of three), one that wasn't easy to undercook, but [spoiler]Jacky still beat the other guys... by a lot. I had no idea he was such a good cook!! He said on the show that he made shumai for a senior project (it's HARD)... he was really cute because he was concentrating a LOT on making the food, and it really paid off. YuRong's was awful. Ahh, YuRong, good thing you have a good voice. Johnny's wasn't good, either, but not as bad as YuRong's, apparently. Both YuRong and Johnny accidentally broke their spatulas (the rice was super-sticky and heavy) because they used too much force.[/spoiler]

Watching it, I really hoped that Jacky goes on Xing Nan Da Zhu Chu. He might have a chance at winning or tying!

i was wondering how come none of the jstars group have appeared on yu le bai fen bai. cause bai fen bai usually invites groups who are releasing albums soon, and i haven't seen 183club or 5566 or kone or even 7flowers appear on their show.

EDIT: nevermnd...just found out that K-ONE isnt part of jungiery anymore...no wonder the reporter said ex manager..

I have not been to this forum for quite awhile now. xxmiracle, you are correct that K One is not longer under Jungiery any more. They are now under Wingman which was created by Xiao Diao (the 5 member of 5566). From what I heard is that Xiao Diao founded K One and because of his bad back he ask Sun Zhong to manage K One for him and now that his is well he has taken K One back under his management.
