hmm. i never really disliked anime.. but then my sister became obsessed with it and always talked nonstop about it. . inuyasha.. naruto..alice 19th.. all kinds of those stuff. hey, no offense to you others out there who are lke my sister..but i really hate it!gosh.. i bet if all the characters in anime didnt look all so cute and hot it wouldnt be so popular now...

It's not just about the animation or the quality of the drawings, although it does make a difference.
Most of the time it's about the quality of the anime in general, all the things that make this anime so great.
It's a combination of the animation, sound, story, character, value, and enjoyment to make this anime likeable.
There are many animes out there with cutesy characters, but that doesn't mean its a good anime, nor people would enjoy it. If your sister talked about it nonstop, than maybe she really does enjoy watching the animes that she watch.

i love watching anime because it's not just a show, there's the story, drawing, songs, animation etc. and i learn from watching animes, most animes are unique, and have their own style, anime is probably the only thing that i haven't been bored about, even though how many anime i watch, i still like watching them unlike sometimes watching chinese or korean series

Some anime is as crappy as some movies. It's just another form of the expression of ideas. The only difference is the production. Anime, cause it doesn't use actors, can push physical boundaries that special effects team would be hard pressed to make look realistic. Also, you're more likely to see good fight scenes from an anime, because one person or many can bring what's needed. With real movies and such, they have to train the actors, and if one actor sucks then it can screw up the entire fight sequence, and then they might have to edit out the entire scene. Of course, since it's still a cartoon, Western companies dub it for children so the voices are always piss-ant annoying.

However, it doesn't sound like you hate anime so much as your annoying sister talking about anime. And that's something all siblings can relate to, so I hear ya. :xiao5:

nah... I love animes... it's great... but I guess if the character are not cute or pretty than I don't think I'll be interested... actually... I only enjoy anime that has pretty drawing and interesting storyline..........

I luv anime cause it's depth. Unlike American Cartoons which are just 30 mins long and the following episodes are unrelated to the previous ones. Some of the good anime have great character grown and an entrawling plot. Plus, with the huge anime community online it's easy and much more conveint to get anime on ur comp and watch it then it is to watch cartoons on Tv.

Most anime are pretty good... like Slam Dunk you guys should watch that one! Oh and I hate eng dubbed anime.

i dont love it but i dont have a reason to hate it either. some of them can catch my attention but the rest of it does not interest me at all. and someones i would hate it because my friend is a obsessed fan...but if she stops talking about it then yea..its alrite i guess

Ya i think anime is like any tv show or movies..there are some good ones and some bad ones...good ones will keep you wanting to find out what happens next....and the bad ones...well they are just bad...but i enjoy anime in general:)

I am very much in the anime rocks group. I'll never forget the first I ever saw - it was Robotech. The memories............my little 6 year old mind had never been exposed to anything like it(`k, I know everybody in the anime world seems to hate Robotech, but I'll love it forever - the first one, mind you, the second series was just.......I still don't know what the second series was )

The characters and the storylines are just so much more in depth then American animation - and the art so stunning, you won't find characters like that in live action or Disney stuff. Gargoyles was the only animated series I thought approached the level of anime (not that I'm dissin LoonyTunes ).

anime is nice! if u watch a good anime, it will get extremely addictive. those in jap with english subs are the best! the characters are cute and they have such huge watery eyes..

Is it me or are most of the new shows coming out of Japan right now not very good. Hopefully it's just a little slump anime is going throught right now.

exactly. you either like it or you dont but there's nothing about it that should make you hate it. the fact that someone is always talking about it might be boring and irritating but nothing so bad as to say hate. i dont watch a lot of anime but the ones that i do watch, they're so damn good. sailormoon (this you either like or you dont because sometimes the characters can be kind of irritating) or initial d or captain tsubasa or dragonball. these are really the only ones i've followed. aside from the movies which i seen some but not that many. i think i prefer series more. there's more depth and everything.

I really like anime, well, some at least. Sometimes ideas get repetitive (i.e. dueling card games? wtf? And mech suit-type things are kind of overused too), and there's some anime out there that sucks horribly. But other than that, yeah, I enjoy watching anime.

I have watched anime since I was a little kid. I really loved the mecha animes. I think those were really popular in those days.
Now I don't have as much time as before, but I have managed to watch the entire rurouni kenshin (gets boring in the end) and I am following Naruto at this moment.

The american cartoons aren't as good as the japanise anime in my opinion. I have the feeling that a lot of cartoons are made for kids unlike anime. Some anime have a really beautiful storyline/plot I can't remember which American Cartoon have.
I guess I will still be watching anime when I have children lol =)

Yeah, Jap-wannabes really annoy me. It's good to like the culture but that's kind of taking things too far. It irritates me when people learn some of the commonly-used Japanese terms and then mix them into their normal English conversations.

The first anime I actually remember watching was probably Pokemon or something along those lines. Then I dropped the more childish animes and watched some of the mech stuff like the Gundam series and Escaflowne. I guess that's what really got me into anime, and from then on I went on and watched some of the popular ones.

For the time being I'm only following fansubs like Naruto, though.

A good storyline is the key to the popularity of anime. All the good animes have great storylines. Examples are Hikaru no go and Bleach.

Anime cartoon is way way way better than other cartoons in terms of animation and quality.

I love anime, too, but I find manga much more fun to read at times. The plot is more complex, and novel-like. In an anime show, you can't really expand it too much without confusing people who watch in the middle of a series.

i don't think i will ever hate anime or manga. i look forward to it everyday, like search for new anime to watch or updates. but sometimes i wonder when is it a good to to stop watching anime?? i mean cartoons are for kids, but when we become adults should we still be watching anime. im in college rite now n i still watch anime. but i think im goin to try to stop soon n concentrate or whats more important.

No way, anime is great! No single day goes by without me watching, reading or listening to anime. There are maybe a handful of anime series/movies that I don't like, but I don't you can hate anime in general

There's noway you could say that you love it or hate it. I mean, there are so many differrent genres, so many styles....

I never did like animes in the past. I didn't like the sexual contents in most of them until I started watching shamen king. Now, I can say I'm hooked on wataching them.

A while ago I tried to stop to watch anime, because I was really hooked on it. Every day I was watching it. But then I realize that wasn't good, because I was spending more time watching anime then making homework.
Now I am trying to watch only one or 3 episode one day!
Really hard to do. BUt anyway anime is really to great to hate it. I think when I reach 30 I still will be watching anime.

Ok anime is good when u find the write stuff that ur into and besides its usually does not fit into some peoples cup of tea since its too fictional for them and so they are lost in it.

Personally i love the stuff but some i will just ignore.

i liked anime, i watched a whole bunch but now that i'm older i find it to be less interesting and most of the storyline's are crap....i think i've given up on watching anime except for about 3.
