Have you ever been sick of TVB series, or tired from it....that you took a break from watching and watched something else?

or you watched a serie, and you got really turned off by it that you wish to stop watching TVB for a while?

Yeah that’s me. I got tired of TVB for a while and started watching Korean dramas. I later got tired of all the crying scenes there and now I am back with TVB again. It seems like the series back then were much better - creatively. That was when we watched them more on tape than on the computer.

I'm getting a little tired of the repetitive nature, but I don't really take breaks, I just skip series that I find boring. So I stopped watching Trimming Success and started watching the China production of Princess Shengping, which I find absolutely hilarious.

No I'm not!! I just love TVB series as it's just great!!!!!
I remembered watching 3 - 4 series in 2 weeks. I watch almost 5 - 6 series everyday! When I go back to my country, I'm gonna download all the series that I've missed out!! I'm gonna keep myself up to date with all the series and Movies!! Ah, miss out lots of US movies!!!

Yes I'm sick of TVB dramas...my family prefer watching TVB dramas but I prefer Korean Dramas...its harder for me to get Korean dramas so when I have time after watching my k-dramas, I will watch the TVB dramas that my family recommended...they are quite picky too so what they recommend are usually ok...but if I watch all the tvb dramas that they watch, I will be sick sick sick cos before I discovered k-dramas I was sick of those silly/'mo lil' tvb dramas...I like the long and series dramas tvb do like war&beauty, 'lau gum shui yoot', 'chond sai gay', healing hands, files of justice etc. I also like japanese dramas but I tend to watch k-dramas more!!

most TVB series are the same, there's a guy and something horrible happens in his life, the guy meets some girl, they like each other and they go through many obstacles together for example there's another guy who likes the girl, then more horrible things happen to them which is usually work related, and somewhere in the middle of the series, the guy and the girl gets into a fight and go on a break, but then the guy and the girl can't live without each other, they are together again and all the other problems are solved, and they live happily ever after, the end. YAY!!!

Right at this moment actually... sick of tvb. Luckily I found some nice Korean series to mend the gap. I am waiting for some police investigation type from tvb. The one on forensic seems nice (from posters). Hope to see it soon.

Yup, Gods of Honour. Some parts were just too draggy and the pace was bad. I either fast forwarded it, or just took a very long break from it.

there are great ones out there but i do get sick from some of the rather boring ones. but most of the time i end up watching them and falling asleep. '

it get boring seeing the same actor over and over again...=/...
all i see is the same ppl in every series..so boring..

mmh haven't seen a whole tvb serie in a while, mostly I watch a few episodes and then stop cause it's to boring and predictable. And I agree that the people are always the same, and if there are new people in it they can't act at all. Korean series are nice to watch sometimes a little sad but the people can act and it's refreshing, Japanese series are really funny sometimes and mostly 10-12 episodes so the story won't be to boring
And then there are Taiwanese series, kinda the same as tvb but I don't know the people so it's ok to watch.

nope never get sick of it...but jus tat was busy for a long time so no time to watch...but the funni thing was...now i watch like the feeling differnet..

i'm starting to get tired of watching the same kinda plot but i am currently still watching tvb series. no break yet...

I do feel that I get sick of the same story lines all the time and how they don't build up stories anymore...

I'm not a fan of ancient time tvb series and i get seriously annoyed when one is showin and when it finishes, another simular one shows....

I am currently bored with TVB movies too. They are so predictable and all the same now. I'm watching TW series now.

there were a few times i got tired of the boringness but i didn't switch to something else. I just quit watching for some time an did other things besides TV.

no...not for me....i mostly watch the series for the casts. if there's my fave actor/actress in it, then i would usually watch it. and it seems like my fave actors take turns releasing series. so technically i wouldnt really stop watching TVB at all.

yea i b4 i stop watching for a while because most of the series not good. but lately i watch tvb series back because got nothing else to watch.

i take a break from tvb series when they all suck.i mean sometimes,the series just aren't intresting,so i stop until there is a new one

yup...during a period i didn´t watch any TVb series at all, got sick of....just watched american series.....but then i started to miss watching those ancient series and i began to watch tvb series again.....i don´t watch everything....out of 10 series i maybe watch 2-3....

yea definitely..sometimes tvb comes out with horrid series like blade heart and conquerers quest or something wow horrible!!

It's funny, I never get tired of TVB. I may stay away from some series, but not entirely from TVB..haha..there's not much choice out there anyway.

I agree! I would always watch TVB but there are some series that I don't quite like.

Yah, there are series that made me sick and tired of TVB.

I find all those super long ones are like that. I watched like 1000 ep of kindred spirit, and got super sick of it. Watched 100 ep of the olden "gai dai foon hei" and got super sick of it.

I don't think their jokes are funny at all.

Then, sometimes, there are those odd ball series that I do not like.
Some cops series are boring.


However, those haven't got me to stop watching TVB. What made me stop catching it every day is that School got more intense and sometimes, i get home after the episode. So I rather either tape it and watch it all at once, or rent it.


And yes, when I get bored of TVB, I turn to Anime. Vice versa.

Never, I love TVB even though some of their series suck. I just got so use to watching it. I grew up watching TVB, and I'm so much familur with TVB actors and actresses/

Yes, TVB series have gotten repetitive and boring at times. But I'm watching some series, but I don't watch as many TVB series as I used to. I'm just not addicted to them as much now. I prefer korean and taiwanese series more now, they're so much more creative and sad. I haven't cried in a TVB series since a long time. The older series are better than the recent ones. It seems to me that TVB can't come up with new ideas for series.

sometimes because tvb tends to have the same people in their series...like how charmaine's & sonija's series get to release one after the other and the type of series released are similar. Also tvb keep using the same casts in their series that you can't tell apart which is which. So i end up to watch taiwan/mainland series every once in awhile.

i never been sick of tvb series be4 because i m a big fan of tvb movies. i re-watch their series over and over again n i dont get bored of it at all. i also admires the tvb actors for acting out a nice series like this. i dont miss any series of tvb at all because i take my time to enjoy it and understand it.

right Im sick of watching some of the new TVB series, so i dont watch any new tvb series, but i go back and watch some of the old series, like Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre 2000. Also i watched some of the Tawainese and Mainland series.

All the new series has the same cast, which make me boring. Waiting to see if any series look attractive.

yeah TvB series suck lately. I enjoy watching china and korea series more these day becasue they are more better. with better storylines and actors

Yes, I don't like the new line of actors/actresses TVB is promoting. Tired of seeing the same people in series after series and most of them cant even act...I prefer actors/actresses and series back in 90s..much better storylines and acting...too bad most of them have left, either filming elsewhere or hardly filming anymore

yea I like stopped for two years and watch japanese and korean drama instead.... so now I only watch drama from tvb if the storyline sounds like something i like. But even now I give up half way through the drama

I really like to watch tvb series in the 1995-97 . never miss any of their series but I got sick of its production during 2000 due to poor storyline or bad acting and I have just started to watch again. Hopefully tvb will not disappoints us with their production

i get tired of tvb every lito while.. cuz tvb has alot of repeative stuff.. i remeber i use to watch like 3 different tvb series.. now im down to watching 1 series. its just cuz theres not alot of appealing tvb plots anymore.. well in my opinion there isnt. sometimes i rather watch like the mainland series.. just cuz its more refreshing. watching tvb u ALWAYS see the same actors/actresses yew get tired of watching the same ones over and over.. and watching something different is refreshing.. buh after my lito break of watchin tvb i will always go bak and watchin them once something appeals to me..

i do it once or twice a year....i dont seem to enjoy the ancient times series as i used to...and the modern day ones are really dodgey sometimes ...

I would actually pick series to watch. First is the cast, then the story plot. I don't want to waste my money to rent all these boring series at all. I would take a break if they release the series that I don't even like. It's really hard to find a series that I like both cast and the story. I guess because they would use the same people with similar or the same pairing. That really annoys me. It's not that I don't like the cast, but I would feel boring to see them over and over again, especially back to back sereis.

Well, I don't watch TVB series anymore. But a couple of yrs ago I have watched Sword Stained with Royal Blood another JinYong's adaptation. And me as JinYong lover have to watch it. The series is with Lam Ka Dung and Charmaine Sheh I believe. I stopped after a few episodes, cos the story is changed too much comparing to the novel. And I really can't stand why actors like Lam Ka Dung got a mainrole. He isn't serious enough and sure not for this role. There was also another actress, way too ugly and annoying. Don't know her name anymore, she played the daughter of the Golden Snake Man. Really can't stand them, even I do like watch Charmaine and it's a JinYong story....

yea TVB series gets boring sometimes because you watch so much that u can predict what's going to happen! basically im kinda of sick with the same process they use in the series...i hope u guys know what i mean, but its ok to watch TVB series once in a while i guess!

I am totally hooked, I must quit. How do you guys take a break, just seems to be so many series I want to see and too little time to see them all.

TVB's tv series back then is way better then nowadays. Especially, the series in the 80's. But i notice that mianland tv series is improving and sometime i think its even better than TVBs' and taiwan tv series.
