THE TRUTH

CAST: Ryu Shi Won, Choi Ji Woo, Park Sun Young, Son Ji Chang

SYNOPSIS:

Choi Ji Woo, Ryu Shi Won, and Park Sun Young, are out drinking. Later in the car, Park Sun Young is driving and she crashes into a person. Big accident. Ryu Shi Won comes flying out of the back seat throught the window. Choi Ji Woo is unconcious. But Park Sun Young wakes up and realizes what she did and switches Choi Ji Woo to the passenger's seat and tells the police in the hospital Choi Ji Woo was driving. Both Ryu Shi Won and Choi Ji Woo are in very critical condition... maybe even about to die... The Flashback: Ja Young (Choi Ji Woo), lives with her parents and older brother in the basement of Shin Hee's (Park Sun Young) house. Ja Young's father is the chauffeur for Shin Hee's father. The two girls go to school together. Ja Young is always #1 in the whole school while Shin Hee is a nahl la lee. Shin Hee convinces Ja Young to let her cheat and it sort of becomes a habit. Ja Young ends up taking Shin Hee's college entrance exam to get Shin Hee into college and in return, her parents get an apartment. She herself has to wait an extra year to go to college. During that year, Ja Young meets Seung Jae (Son Ji Chang), a neighborhood security guard. They start dating for a while, then he dumps her cause he thought she was a rich girl, because of the house she always came out of, which was Shin Hee's. One day, at Shin Hee's birthday party, Hyun Woo (Ryu Shi Won) comes, but on the way, he accidentally splashes Ja Young with his car. He apologizes and stuff. Shin Hee likes Hyun Woo, who is the only son of a rich family. But he starts paying attention to Ja Young and sends gifts to her thru Shin Hee. Shin Hee is VERY mad. Ja Young gets into college with highest honors. She starts going to the same college as Shin Hee and Hyun Woo. Hyun Woo sees Ja Young and starts following her everywhere. Ja Young thinks he is playing a joke. Hyun Woo even gets a job as a waiter at the place Ja Young is working at. Eventually, she returns his feelings and they fall in love.He even wants to go study abroad with her, but of course his parents don't want him too and Shin Hee trys to keep them apart by using Seung Jae. Then the HORRIBLE accident happens...

CJW met up with her 250 Japanese fans



Here's a summary of a recent article...

Ji-Woo finally met her Japanese fans... But it didn't last long, due to extended filming of 'Stairs to Heaven'. The 250 fans from Japan were greeted by Ji-Woo with, "I give you fans much thanks for coming all the way here."

Unfortunately, filming quickly continued inside the interior of a set. Attentive fans ranging from their 20's to 60's were busy taking photos and capturing Ji-Woo's every motion with their eyes. They were careful not to disturb the filming, and some fans wore t-shirts baring a 'Stairs to Heaven' poster.

Ji-Woo gave a mother-of-pearl box with the name 'Choi Ji-Woo' engraved on it as a surprise gift to her fans.

Choi Ji-Woo commented, "I am upset that I couldn't converse much with the many fans who have traveled from so far away."

Choi Ji-Woo's manager from Sidus, Jang Jin-Wook, noted, "We plan to send the collected evidence to the travel agency responsible for using Choi Ji-Woo's name without authority in order to judge their actions."

Jang Jin-Wook added, "We are now planning on a legitimate travel package with Ji-Woo's participation."

The same director of the new '101 Proposal' drama has proposed to Ji-Woo for another 20 episode drama...
'Stairway to Heaven' success seems to be the biggest reason, as well as having already worked with her.

Another proposal is from a Chinese film production company.
They are asking Ji-Woo to star in a movie opposite Kaneshiro Takeshi (ÐÝàòÙë)...

None of these are definite... No contracts were signed...
However, you can assume a lot about Ji-Woo's popularity at this time..^^

Choi Jiwoo has accepted a new drama at 360million won.
A special 20 epsiode drama project, with Choi Jiwoo as the main focus, is being developed by a Korean/Japanese/Chinese group Choi Jiwoo will be paid 18 million won for each epsiode, her total fee for the drama will amount to 360 million won. This is much higher than the 10~15 million won that other Korean actors are receiving for overseas drama. What Choi Jiwoo is receiving is probably a new record for korean artiste.

The drama that she is expected to take up is a remake of the famous Japanese TV series "101proposals", which was major hit for FujiTV with more than 50% rating when shown. The drama has been into a local Korean movie version before. However, FujiTv is ready to make a 2003 new remake version of their hit.

It can be said, this is really a Tri-nation project work. Korea will provide the female lead, China will provide the male lead and director, while Japan will produce, invest and broadcast the drama. China's top 4 biggest group J Group will also invest in the project.

As for the male lead, it is most likely to be Jordan Chan. So far, 3 episodes of the script has been finished. It is expected that a formal announcement will be made in Korea at the end of August with all the parties involved.

"Stairs of Heaven" is being produced by Lee Jang Soo who also produced "Shoot the Star". A story with a love triangle ,The Lead actress becomes a half sister to a brother when her father remarries, and she also falls in love with a Amusment Park "Prince" . It supposedly has a sad ending but leaves a deep impression.

Boosted by 'Stairs to Heaven' popularity, Choi Ji-Woo is ready to go Asian-wide. Japan's Fuji and NHK, Taiwan and Hong Kong TV stations are already making high bets to show 'Stairs to Heaven' in their network.
With her popularity to grow with the broadcast of 'Stairs to Heaven', her tour begins as soon as the drama's filming ends.
