Can anyone tell me some of the movies or series he is in?
I loved watching Bright Girl when it was aired here in the Philippines...especially during the summer time. But when classes started, I was really sad because the show was shown at around 4 PM and my class ended at 5:30! ARgg! Talk about a total pathetic loser!

I think Jang Hyuk is so versatile. He can be goofy like in Please Teach Me English, serious in Into the Sunlight and suave in Success Story of a Bright Girl. So sad he's in the military.

i watched Sucess story of a bright girl recently and he is SO good in it. it's too bad we can see more of him for a couple years.

Actors Song Seung-heon and Chang Hyuk were discharged from military service November 15.
The two made an appearance in front of their fans at their respective army divisions--Hwacheon and Cheolwon, both in Gangwon Province.
Some 200 reporters and 500 fans from Korea and abroad waited for Song since early morning. The actor’s fans from Japan, Hong Kong and Thailand, who came to Korea in time for a fan meeting, waited for Song since 4 a.m. despite the snowy weather.
Song will hold large-scale fan meetings November 18-19 at the Olympic Park in Seoul to resume his acting career. The actor says he doesn’t think he has been forgiven for his mistakes and promised to improve in the future.
Song had originally planned to hold a welcome party with his fans immediately after his discharge from the military but had to leave the venue because too many fans flocked to see him.
Meanwhile, Chang has decided to take some time off before resuming his acting career to carefully choose his next production.
Some 30 reporters and staff from his agency waited for Chang in Cheolwon since morning. Chang stayed mostly low-key during his military service. He walked all the way from his division to the checkpoint for an hour and a half because it snowed heavily.
Chang told reporters that he felt relieved and sad at the same time, and had cut his hair short again. He said he planned to implement new resolutions and appeared strongly determined to do his best. He explained he had realized the importance of acting in his life during his military service.
Both actors left their checkpoints with their agency staff and headed home to meet with their families.
Song will soon begin filming a new TV drama, while Chang has yet to choose his next production.

Wow. Judging by that news photo, he lost a lot of weight. He looks different now - older, thinner and perhaps, not so easy-going. He looks as if someone knocked the stuffing out of him. Aww.
haha i laughed my butt off when i watched "Volcano High". i saw this one drama he did with cha tae hyun and these two other ladies and it was ok. and then him appearing in G.O.D's "mom" mv. that was charming. he looks a ton older now after being discharged from the military. GOOD LUCK!
He's also very hilarious in "Please Teach Me English". He played also in a new korean drama with Gong Hyo Jin that will be aired in march. The name of this drama is "We Were There".

There was obvious tension on Jang Hyuk’s face when he met with reporters after the drama briefing, which was held on March 14 at Hilton Hotel in Namdaemun-gu, Seoul.
“With this being my first formal meeting in three years, I found that although I was smiling and appeared calm, my legs were shaking uncontrollably. (laughs) After being discharged from military service, when I was on my way to practice the script for the first time, I was so excited. I checked later, and it turned out that my blood pressure had actually risen. I really feel like I’m back in 1996, making my debut.”
After all of the ups and downs he has experienced, Jang is resolved to do whatever it takes. In 2004, Jang, along with Song Seung-heon and Han Jae-seok, was accused of avoiding military service, and, after receiving a second physical check-up, he entered the service in November of that year; serving in Hwacheon county, Gangwon province. This is his first piece after being discharged from military service in November of last year.
“A couple of days ago, as I was returning from filming at the Uijeongbu set, and I saw soldiers receiving winter training. I suddenly realized that the place I am in right now is particularly valuable. I too took part in winter training… after serving in the military I learned to value everyday life. Although I did wrong in the past, a thought occurred to me. It is said that when former U.S. President Ronald Reagan was a presidential candidate and was asked, ‘Aren’t you too old?’ by his opponent. He answered, ‘I am not too old, but rather I have more experience and the correct attitude to put it to use.’ I think the attitude that one has, and how one starts over again, is most important. “
In this drama, Jang plays the role of Min Gi-seo, a doctor who is extremely talented, but arrogant and conceited. After Gi-seo’s girlfriend dies, he leaves his life behind and goes to a remote island where he meets Young-shin (Gong Hyo-jin), an unmarried mother of an eight-year aids victim. As they get to know each other, their relationship gradually warms up.
“I want to delicately express a man who is transformed by love. I am getting older too. ‘Thank You’ is not a medical drama, but a heart-warming story for adults. I tried to create a heart-warming feeling for viewers. Many people think that doctors have to be cold and composed. When I was preparing to act as Gi-seo, I put a lot of thought into whether it is more important to put the person first or if it is right to coolly observe the disease first. It was a process in which I, myself, discovered the true meaning of heart-warming .”
This drama is receiving more attention because it was written by scenario writer Lee Kyung-hee, who wrote the scenarios for dramas such as ‘Sangdoo, Let’s Go To School’ (KBS, 2003) ‘I’m Sorry, I Love You’ (KBS, 2004), and ‘This Killing Love’ (KBS•2005).

I just finished the drama today. I think the ending is not enough. The story line is really great and he really is indeed a great actor. After his military service you could tell how mature he looks now, not only by the way he looks but the way he acts and think.

Jang Hyuk to Star in "Dance of the Dragon"
Actor Jang Hyuk will co-star in the Hollywood movie "Dance of the Dragon" with Singaporean actress Fann Wong.
Jang, who has gained popularity in Asia for his roles in the movies "Windstruck" and "Volcano High," will play a Chinese volume dancer who tries to hamper the relationship between a woman played by Fann Wong and a martial art champion played by actor Jason Scott Lee. All lines will be spoken in English.
Jang will stay in Singapore for two months for filming.
"Dance of the Dragon" will be filmed by East Light Film, which produces movies in Asia. The movie's production costs reached four million dollars, with the opening slated for April next year.
Wong won the best actress award in 1995 for her role in the Singaporean TV drama "Chronicle of Life," and in 2000 was nominated for the Hong Kong Film Awards' Best New Performer for her role in "The Truth About Jane and Sam."
In 2003, she debuted in Hollywood by playing a leading role in "Shanghai Knights."
Lee is a Chinese actor known for his roles in the movies "Dragon," "Rapa Nui" and "The Jungle Book."
