From now on, everyone in the membersgroup or higher are allowed to change their displayname once every 90 days.

Displayname is your name that will show on the site. You can use your normal loginname and the displayname to login.

The group permission can change anytime though. Later maybe only members+ or higher are allowed. It's not recommended to change your displayname often though if you want to build an reputation

ooh, what a nice new feature...thank you athlon for implementing it, although, darn it, if I had just waited, I wouldn't have needed to spend 1000 AFz to change my username , but what the heck, I'm rich again anyway, so it doesn't matter .

Wow, changing display names used to be 1000 afz? So expensive! I'm glad it's free now

This is such a nice feature, and more convenient because u don't have to ask to get ur title changed, u can just change it urself

go to ur cp, and click on the link that says "change your display name"

You're yet still a newbie. But you have over 20 threads. Check all of them and see if they are spam-free then ask for promotion. Then finally, you'll be able to have the chance to change your diplay name. because...

One problem though.... my account has not been around for anywhere close to 90 days lol..... lets see only 2 days... BTW, my yellow name is kind of hard to read, isn't that more of a punishment then a benefit of donating? Lol.

prcqtww - Yes, the rules are slightly changed, now u have to apply for a promotion to be able to be upgraded to a higher group.

Hehehe... it works both ways... especially for someone who wants to "loose" a reputation and start anew!

badguh - What 330d is trying to say is that u are still in 'af newbie' group, this feature is only available to users in 'members' and higher groups, that's why u can't see this option in ur control panel.

Hmm, just wanted to ask. The display name once changed, all of your post on AF will change to your new display name right? Or does the old post stay with the old name while the rest of the new posts are with the new name? I have encountered both types before, so I wanted to ask which one this is on AF. Thanks!

all post will change to the new displayname, that mean includes the new and old posts

The displayname is the name that showed above your avatar. (in my case: 330d)
So it's not the title which is showed under your avatar (in my case: Asian Fanatic) . You can change the title at the shop:

This is the thing, I changed my Display name today but i didn't meant to do it. I thought it would be on the bottom of my avator or something. How Stupid of me? I was just looking about the my control feature and saw a change diasplay name and for some stupid reason, i thought it was something u could add below the avator. And i just notice that u need to wait a period of 90 days in order to change it back. But i want people to recognize me as j033y and not the other one. lol. I thought it would like a nickname on the bottom of the avator. So may you guys help me change it back? I'm really stupid for doing that. If you could then i want to change it back to my old one j033y. If not then, i appreciate u guys for listening to my saying. Thanks for the help. I'm sorry that i gave u guys such a hassle. :-)

Hi 330d! I want to ask how you can change your title. You mentioned in your post (quoted above) that you will be able to change it in the link above. But the link just shows me the threads that i have replies to. Can you please help? I've been surfing the FAQ and the bulletin board for an answer to this question and i cant seem to find a thread responding to this question. Thank you.

CelsiusGirls♥飛輪海: you want to change the faq.asianfanatics.net to something else? well, actually you can. try going to My Controls (scroll up and it's on your right side), then click on Edit Profile Information. from there, you can change the title under your avatar. see if it works.

yeah, there is a requirement to have that option in your profile. were you just upgraded from Members group just a few days ago? if yes, then i think you'll have to be Members+ to have that option.
