I only know a bit of rules, but if I have chance to learn, I will.

i kinda know how to play.. i know the basic rules and stuff, but i don't have strategies or anything. i just go with the flow, and if i win, i win. and if i lose.. well.. haha too bad =P i learned how to play when i was really young, but i forgot how to since then so i had to relearn it last christmas. i don't play often, just with my cousins when we get together and have nothing to do. =]

i know how to play but am not that good at it. I learned from watching my parents. I usually play with my cousins as well.

it's all in the fam. we had a restaurant so at christmas time we kind of played untill we drop. After that we just know. To bad there is no nice online game of mahjong

i watch my fam play, but i dont really kno ALL the rules...but i want to learn...

I've learned since i was little kid, gambling was big part of my family, whenever we had gatherings, it'll be either the mah-jong table or the Big 2 one and did we ever play till we drop!!!
I know lot's of different forms of Mah-jong, like HK, Taiwan, or the 'Old Style' kind...i dont remember the name of the money range i play, but the highest i can lose in 1 game is $96, that's when someone self-pick and 'eat' w/ 10 points and u were the one that gave him his 12th card. I hope that makes sense.
Looking back, i dont think it is necessarily a bad thing that i've been gambling since i was little kid, REmarkably, i have close relationships with all my cousins a big reason b/c of it. It's a great bonding mechanism and lot's of funny things can happen...

Though I think we have to have a 100 game session, I'm familiar with the game, but I think playing it more will make me better. Not enough people in my family enjoy the game.

Learned how to play when I was little too. Yahoo Online is a good place to play. To kill some time in single-player, there's a PC game called HK Mahjong that's pretty authentic.

No, I don't know how to play Mah-Jong. I've seen people play it a lot of times though...

i play about once or twice a month, i think its the best game ever conceived, excellent wortout for the brain

i love mahjong!! i play like whenever i get a chance.... i learned to play when im like 7 or something... hehe...i guess thats what happens when u grow up in a family that plays

i only know 3 person mahjong. much easier and fast. 4 person mahjong is kinda slow and need lots of patient.

I know how to play but the bad thing about this game is when your lucky u can win loads of money and always self pick etc. However, if your in a bad luck run anything is possible particularly when you cant eat at all I have recently been through a bad luck patch and im glad to say that its over. Cant remember how many games i won that night

I must admit that i still play real mahjong at least once a week its quite a addictive game but it does get boring if you play too much in one night. I know people that play for 14hrs straight. Thats too much if you ask me, i can play for around 5 hrs at the most before i get bored with the damm game.

yeh i knw how to play but only with the basic rules. i play during the christmas holidays cos there's four of us in the family so it's perfect. My cousins taught me how to play.

The only thing i don't know is counting up the points at the end and making all the tiles to create a saying to get more points. eg The four blessings etc. LOL

How old did you learn to play ? umm...i think i learned last year, or two years ago...but learning how to play yahoo! style isn't the same as the real way, cause my friends said that there are a lot more ways to win but yahoo! doesn't allow it or something, we should start a table or something and play together!

I know how but not very good. Learn it from my brother who learn it from his friends. Initially, when we (siblings & I) were learning, we have to hide from my parents. We will play in the basement and if one of my parents came down, we will have something to cover it up!!

Anyway, we don't play much now because we don't really enjoy it. I find that you sit there for so many hours is kinda boring and your bud hurts!!

However, I really envy those individuals that play really well especially those who can figure what maj-jong the person after you is using or what they are waiting for to 'eat'!! I just can't figure it out!!

Not at all, it seems so difficult and confusing to me. I watch HK series and always wonder how do they play Mah-Jong, but I never get to learn it.

my sister taught me how to play when i was around 14 and then we just played it whenever.. at first i was addicted to it but then after it wasn't that much fun since i havent played it for ages..

well... if you're talking about the american mah jong then I do know how to play those... if you're talking about the chinese mah jong... then I guess I don't... I'll ask some of the member to show it to me... but guess it's too complicate and confusing too.... I don't even know there's a chinese mahjong until last week...

I learn how to play it on cybercity. Damn mistakes is learning. Just know basic still no damn idea how much point it's really worth but do know which one are the big ones and small ones.

I just know how to play mah-jong, but not with the point system and stuff. I know the name of the tiles and how to get started and what constitutes a win. LOL, I think I learned to play when I was 8 or 9. I used to play with my family every summer. We'd play 25 cents a game. My mom and dad would always give me their winnings. Those were the good old days.

yep i know how to play most styles. however, i don't really know the ins and outs of the rules and i still can't like touch the tile and know what tile it is! i'm really impressed when they do that (but then maybe it's because they're good mahjong sets while mine are cheap). i don't play that often because there aren't many people who know how to in nz. but when i go home i play with my mum's friends!

yes, i know how to play. it's a great game...when i first learned how to play it, i was addicted for the next few months. i used to play with the family a lot...but i guess we played it so much that we eventually got sick of it. i started playing when i was...lemme think...10? yeah, around that time...i'm 15 now...so it's been a while. my grandmother taught me how to play.

I played with hutch, chynese, tony, bleah, and bb on yahoo. It was fun and we hate those who always with with gai wu.

Recently, i have been playin a lot because its the summer and im bored. But ya after finals i got addicted to it. The first thing i would do in the mornin is go on the internet and play.. its a cool game to play in when you r bored.

I love playing mahjong!!!!! My favourite past-time!!!! Learned to play it when I was about 6 or 7 years old....but then I didn't know how to count the points back then. Now, different story, I can count the points. Only problem, I don't have a lot of friends that know how to play mahjong Now I only play when I go to weddings and during my mom's Christmas parties.
