Initial concept of the plot:
Why does Joyce Tang suddenly become a private dectective? It turns out that Joyce plays a private detective in Poon Ka Tak's new series "Summer Heart". In this series, Joyce is actually a financial consultant of a big company. Yet, her dad(Kwok Fung) disappears in an explosion of a boating accident. Joyce's intuition tells her that this isn't an accident but a murder so she goes to the village where the incident happened to investigate, and happens to get into conflict w/ that village's leader(Joe Ma). Hence, they become a bickering pair. What's more troubling is that Joyce finds out that every person in the village somehow has some sort of conflict with her dad, therefore everyone has a motive to kill her dad.
Unfortunately, her boyfriend who is a police(Mark Kwok) just believes this is a simple accident. The person who always argue with her----Joe Ma on the other hand helps her out constantly. Joyce who hasn't found out the truth of her father's death has already gotten herself into a triangle relationship!

I saw the first ep and I'm liking it so far.

it is kind of an EERIE movie.. like the music makes it sounds like the next scene.. something scary will happen... the movie is quite mysterious so far.. if someone asked me Net Deception or Summer Heat.. I would pick Net Deception.

Summer Heat is kind of all over the place.. and roles of the characters aren't that good... in my opinion. This is a movie to watch if there are no other good movies out there..

I can't wait for episode 3 & 4 .
Because Summer heat is the best series I have watch in times.
Love Joyce Tang in it and she 's done a great job.
Net deception sucks and it is so boring so predictable.
But that is my opinion.

Does Joyce still looks short compare to Joe Ma even though she wears 3 inches high heels?

I take my opinion back. This series is getting pretty good... after episode 1 and 2. It is so hilarious! Especially episode 4! This series is actually getting good because everything is pointed out clearly.. unlike in the first 2 episodes.. everything seemed everywhere and too unusual.. but now.. all the characters are starting to participate and we are learning more about the people in the village itself. The suspence is getting so high .. that leaves you guessing if you like mystery stories.. than this is the right series for you.. I mean I keep guessing and I keep getting the person wrong lol.. WHO was the PERV peeking the woman? I guessed wrong.. >_< so much guessing.. good makes your brain work.. very good series indeed right now.

i like the part when the spirtual guy threw all those watermelons into the ocean .. hoping to get Joyce's fathers body back.. lol and then all of the sudden a body floats..the butt was faced up.. and we find out it was that perverted guy so so funny.. I couldnt stop laughing!

yeah Joyce went to school I think..that is where she learned the english. Vancouver? not sure.. but somewhere

just watched the first 5 eps last night. it was very bad in the beginning (the first 2 eps) then it became REALLY funny.

Although I could have done without that Victoria -I'm a bimbo-Jolly.

nah.. I think her father is hiding somewhere... and at the end of episode 5 how that mother said that she killed him.. I dont believe it.. have to wait until episode 6 comes out..

I find Joyce's character kinda strange too. She changes from sweet<-> bithch<-> hysterical in a flash...

i havent watch this series yet. but is it good?

everyone has different taste, but it's not really my kind of series because i dont find it exciting enough. the story started out pretty fast and got right to the point, but now i feel like it's dragging on and i'm only on the 6th episode. you should give it a try and watch one/two episodes and see how you like.

Totally unpredictable... Boring @ starting... argh.. later become a BIT of intresting.. well, can't wait to see whats happening next! haiz...

I watched the first 5 espisodes and so far, I like what I see.

i havent watched dis yet..but it seems good..nd my sis (LILY) ish always askin iF it came out 4 me yet..she must reallie wanna watch it!

so far we know that margeta nd her son [not real son] didn't kill joyce dad .. it always seems that joe does it by the way he looks and seems suspicious .. im thinking it could also been that women who left the ship earlier .. cus she like out of this investation nd she lied about something that joyce asked her . also its creepy that the old women who is like in charge of the prayer thing .. every time she hears about joyce dad she gets all shaky , shocked and scared . can't wait till tape 4 comes out !!

ooo i c...so where did joyce's dad go in the begininng? and remember that old lady at the beginning? why is it that when she heard of joyce's dad's name..she looks scared or something?

well joyce dad hided because he wanted to find who did that to him and he gave some tips to joyce... like the tip to make joyce find those pills
well near the end joyce dad went to find that old lady to explain all the things and she helped him givin some tips to joyce

So, what do you guys think about the end? The story is quite OK, but how her father got back is a bit stupid for me... Too much a happy ending. The fact taht the aunt was the culprit all along was quite clear from ep 16 on. Her head REALLY looked freaky though, the one that she stuck on the familypicture of Joyce.

I really liked this movie. But I think they should have brought the father back earlier.. well Im glad it was a happy ending.. but it can't compare to the happy ending of net deception. Summer Heat ending seemed like they wanted to end the movie fast

hi everyone! SUMMER HEAT IS SOO GOOD! much better than net deception in my opinion. i'm watching eps. 19 now and towards the end there is this english song that comes up... (they played almost the whole song). does anyone know who sings it? or what the title of the song is?
