Synopsis
When President's only daughter, Liu Xin Ping, checked into the hospital for her chemotherapy treatment, the head of internal Medicine, Dr. Xu Da-Ming, and the head of surgery, Dr. Tang Guo-Tai, became the core members of the President's medical team. Both men planned to use this opportunity to prove themselves to be the best person for the hospital director's position.

Xu advised Liu to have a Central IV implantation to alleviate the discomfort of her treatment. He appointed Dr. Su Yi-Hua, an expert in this type of operation, to perform the surgery. When Tang found out, he was furious that Xu appointed one of his surgeons without his explicit approval. To spite Xu and take credit for the treatment, he replaced Su with Dr. Qiu Qing-Cheng and publicly announced that he himself had performed the surgery. However, this move put himself and the hospital in a very difficult position when Liu developed serious complications after the surgery.

Through out the ordeal, Su tried to maintain his integrity as a doctor by standing up to Tang. His actions created great displeasure in his boss and caused him to be alienated by the entire surgical department.

While Su was experiencing alienation, the woman he loved was also under duress in the hospital. Anesthesiologist Guan Xin was caught in a medical malpractice claim involving hospital director Huang Kai-Yuan. Through Tang, Huang put pressure on Guan to take the blame for the malpractice. Guan refused. In the ensuing media circus, Guan endured pressures from both the hospital and the victim's family. She learned that it's difficult to maintain principle in the face of reality.

Tang's overbearing attitude eventually led to his own downfall and Xu's rise to power. The shift in power stirred up series of personnel changes, of which, directly impacted the future of Qiu, Su and other members of the surgical department.

Are you referring to Jerry Yan's new drama series White Tower (Bai Se Ju Ta). Will if you are its not out yet they are still filming. It will be release next year.

Jerry Yan, Falls down from Stairs

Jerry leaves Fu Long, his new housing is the main concern of everyone. In HK, there are rumours that people like Cheng Jia Ying and Lin Jian Zheng have also got in touch with him and there might be chances of working together. His manager, Mia, yesterday said, "It is true that i have met the both of them but it's all for the concert in March." Mia expressed that this rumours have affected both Jerry and her a little, she couldn't control and said, "Jerry fell down from the stairs while fliming, and he is having a cold. During this time, it is either he is recuperating or fliming, the things that the outside world is guessing is not happening at all."

Mia heartaches for Jerry, "He was too engrossed in the show, he only had to rush out for that scene. In the end, he rushed too far ahead and fell down the stairs." Asia's No. 1 idol falls, both the crew and assistant got a shock. After he fell, it was later landed on his knee and kneeled on the floor. He did not fall on his head but hurt his knee was terribly hurt.

After he got injured, he still continued fliming. Jerry have not flimed any drama for 3 years and place high hopes of The Hospital. A China website wrote that Jerry was going to sign a contract with Cheng Jia Ying. They also said because Faye Wong was pregnant, Cheng Jia Ying lost his money tree and needed someone immediately. And towards Jerry, with only Faye Wong, Eason Chan and others, easy simple people, he could concentrate on developing his career. Both had compromised and Jerry would be announcing the news during their concert press conference in HK on the 18th of Jan.

Mia said, Cheng Jia Ying is a great producer, making Eason's 4 concerts jump up to 9 concerts. She said she was asking Cheng Jia Ying what could Jerry perform during the concert, it has nothing to do with his management contract.

As to Lin Jia Zheng, Mia said, "Working with Lin Jian Zheng on the movie the other time was good, and he is on good terms with Jerry. He dotes of Jerry alot. Previously, when he went to HK for a promo, both met up too, we have never mention the managment contract at all."

A Multitude of Production Performance

Jerry Yan and Leon Dai once had a single scene in the drama that took an entire 4-5 hours to shoot.

If Korea has Bae Yong Jun, Taiwan's counterpart would have no other else than Jerry Yan. His arrival in Thailand tested young spirits, resulting not only to airport chaos, the press conference even attracted as much as 130 press attending, and with its impressive look quite astonishing.

In this year's HMV charts in Japan, it ranks among the top 10 in the audio-visual products reservations. Taiwan's F4 is tucked in rank no. 3. Vic Zhou and Vanness Wu ranked 6 and 9 respectively, but Jerry's performance ranking is best. . He had 2 entries with ranks 2 and 5 defeating Korea's rank no. 3 of Bae Yong Jun and rank no.10 of Song Seung Hun. However, Jerry is a strong Rank 1 super man overseas. but instead of allowing F4 fans feel nervous, he was able to break away to develop each of their own careers but Jerry only wanted the fans to feel relieved and on taking care of 4 individual careers, each of them had long been quite busy. But yet, he also felt rather craving for more because there were veterans in the drama that is making Jerry's acting skills advance into great excellence, that every next scene of working together all allows his &quot;quiao&quot; to leap endlessly.

So as not to fail everyone's expectations, Jerry and Leon Dai, for the drama once shot a single scene for a whole 4-5 hours. barely managed to separate very early and then left the location set every other day to travel, actually until dawn waiting for the Director to accompllish his next scenes later and only then he could stop working.


The drama eats most of Jerry's time. Daily shooting lasts all day, reporting at 3 early morning and stops very late at night. Staff said that rumors continue to spread that Jerry is very difficult to handle However, while he respects the business side, he also joins the filming of the performers. With regards to looking at Jerry, they also observed substantial changes, because he did not only demanded perfection. Sometimes, the Director shouts &quot;Cut&quot; and he thought the Director might have not been satisfied. Yet, he was able to require himself to come first again , and be good specialized performers.

6 Months of Filming, First Public Promotion

After almost half a year of filming, the much awaited Zhong Shi Serial The Hospital, yesterday (29th) in Gao Xiong presented some of the footages to the media. At the conference, male leads Jerry Yan and Dai Li Ren, female lead Zhang and Director Cai all attended. Director Cai revealed that the hardest part was to not cry, as there are too many heart wrenching scenes. Jerry laughs at the rumoured misunderstanding between himself and the director, saying: "Sometimes when I see director's face change, I think it's because I didn't act well, later did I realise that the director was too moved."

At yesterday's press conference, over 20 media came from Japan and other countries as well as Jerry's fans, just to see the premier release of The Hospital's clips. When Cai was asked about filming process, was it difficult? What is the most memorable? He said that filming this required lots of professional technology and resources. Actors must be real and get used to the environment but the hardest is not to cry. There are too many moving scenes, especially Wu Meng Da and Shen Shi Hua's scenes. Even the workers couldn't help but cry.

Jerry when asked about his filming experience, he said being able to work with such great director and cast, he was very nervous but also very professional. Sometimes when he sees director's face change color, he though it was his fault but later did he realise that it was because he was too moved. Hence breathing sigh of relief. When director Cai heard this, he confirmed many times of Jerry's acting skills and encouraged him to persist.

To fully be able to portray the roles of doctors, Jerry, Dai Li Reng and Zhang all had to take lessons and watch clips and practice in operation rooms, including how to wear their robes and hold operation knives and how to act as if they are removing tumours from patient's stomach. Ooouchhh...Jerry is sooo caring for his lead female actress,Janine Zhang..

Is it just me or does this drama seem way too old...and serious? Okay, yeah, Jerry looks really hot but then the rest of the cast look like they're mostly 35+yrs. I hate to sound stereotypical, but isn't the target audience of these dramas mostly teenage girls and young women? I didn't find the trailer that interesting, to be honest. That's not to say I only want to watch hot male celebrities, but that generally helps if you want to get ratings. I mean, that's a big reason why Meteor Garden got so popular right? Anyway, at least Jerry's acting looks like it improved. I guess we'll have to see...

Jerry Yan says It's weird that he is so popular

He's definately a hunk, Jerry was extremely handsome in his wedding suit and Xu An An who was acting across him got the light from him as well. She almost forgot her lines during fliming, and was afraid of being killed by Jerry's fans. During the last few screens, Jerry couldn't help but gave Director Cai a big hug to celebrate the end of their work. Seeing that Jerry do have the little rabbit side of him.

Earlier on, F4's concert did not pass through because of The Hospital. As The Hospital's fliming could not be controlled, they're management company couldn't decide on a date. Yesterday, after the ending where Jerry acted as a late groom, they celebrated the completed fliming and management company heave a sigh of relieve as well, making preparations for the coming concert.

F4 pays tribute to Leslie Cheung on their upcoming Hong Kong concert in March. They will choose some of Leslie's classic songs such as "Wei Ni Zhong Qing", "Monica", "Feng Ji Xu Chui" and so on.

1 April is Leslie Cheung's death anniversary. To pay tribute to this superstar, F4 has chosen to perform some of Leslie's famous songs for their HK concert on 22 March. Vanness who loves dancing has planned to choose one of Leslie's fast songs such as "Monica", "Stand Up", "Ce Mian" etc. Vic will sing "Wei Ni Zhong Qing" and Jerry will sing "Feng Ji Xu Chui". Ken has chosen 1 of Leslie's later songs "Zhuo You Shou".

As F4 last HK concert was 3 years ago, this time they will perform something different. Jerry will play instruments, Zai will act a mini musical, Vanness will perform some dance segments and Ken will perform wil a live band. Their concert outfiits will be designed by Yu Jia An, each of them will have 5 or more outfits. Production cost for each show costs more than HK$200 0000.

The concert is drawing near, and Jerry is currently filming last few scenes for his latest drama "The Hospital". Yesterday, Jerry was filming a final wedding scene in Taipei. As they filmed from morning to nite, Jerry looked very tired. But luckily, they have successfully finished filming and he can concentrate on preparing for the concert next wk onwards.

“The Hospital,” over-exceeding its production expenses, with its filming again lagging behind schedule, the Cai Yue Xun couple had no choice but to use everyone’s pulse to reduce costs such as going to Shao Xin hot pot store to film the Jia Yong Ji Wedding Shop scene. Days ago, Jerry Yan and Xu An An scene of choosing their wedding attires was filmed. The place was transformed into a Wedding Shop, with Jia Yong Ji supporting, and with no talent fee acting as the Wedding Shop lady boss. Yu Xiao Hui was teary appreciative, “Lack of money can slow it down further, and we owe favors, so I really don’t know how to thank her!”

Specializing in top quality, CH Wedding’s Jia Yong Ji was doing some few granny services when she filmed that day. Jia Yong Ji assited Xu An An in choosing from the two attires until she thought it doesn’t suit her well. So she let her wear a formal, elegant western dress when Jerry arrived bursting in awe. Jerry Yan, Presents Dieting when Acting in The Hospital
What's the level of perfectionism of Jerry Yan ? When he was fliming The Hospital, he did not eat for a straight row of 2-3 days and only drank plain water. Firstly, he was afraid that his mouth would be oily and would look ugly on screens. Secondly, he was afraid of mouth odour which would make it embarrassing for kissing scenes and he prefers fried food. The ending for not eating, his gastrics turned bad. The beautiful hunk had acne on his face and the doctor diagonised it as too much stress and pressure.

Saya said the way Jerry treated her, whether is it out or in the show was just as gentle and careful. There was once when Saya needed the toilet urgently, the moment the Director shouted CUT, she wanted to get down the bed immediately. Jerry quickly helped her to get the tubes off her and helped her down, his actions was really gentle. Saya stood for awhile, couldn't help it and told him, "I'm really not ill, you don't have to treat me like a patient!"

Before this, Jerry acting was seem more on an idol drama or puppy love story such as the popular Meteor Garden, Metoer Rain and Spicy Teacher etc. So now on, especially after leaving Comic/Fu Long management, Jerry's career as a professional actor is just starting to take off, his popularity & fame in the future will even be greater than now or compared to 2001.

His current agent is his personal friend & also one who knows what Jerry's wants & able to fully focus on helping Jerry towards the goals he wants, which is to be recognised as a professional actor & singer. With this step. Jerry is slowly working his way to producing quality works whether in singing & acting.

Jerry has started the 1st step with tv serial White Tower/The Hospital which is already making a name for its quality. When we looked at the script, the Director and me of course, both thought that the leading character Dr. Su Yi Hua is none other than Jerry, and Qui Cheng Ze is Dai Li Ren but we realized that taking them would be difficult. Jerry Yan was very busy, Dai Li Ren is also a director with many projects in line, script contents, time adjustents and so on. We spent nearly a year negotiating. But we remained persistent all along, and believed that these two should be the leads. We waited for a very long time they said OK and accepted, resolving such earlier pressures.

Talking about Jerry, aside from being young, he is the type which no other artist hasnt , producing multitude of special qualities. In fact, he has the right talent. When Director Cai asked him to act sentimentally and produce special subtle changes in emotions and expressions, he certainly acted it out exactly the way the director wanted him to project. In these scenes, he comes out on his own as an actor with the greatest efforts.

Before shooting this scene, I always thought that Jerry will leave me. In fact, in working together afterwards, I really didnt know what to feel. In the set, he always talked to everyone, made jokes, and has a very special side. As an actor, he handle his emotions well to show very rich projections, receiving and letting out every kind of emotions. His astonishing concentration led me the need to learn, and study eventhough I have many rivals in the drama, but according to the scenes, when I was on my own, he still wanted to support me, considering the presence of my rivals.

She and Jerry filmed very long scenes, and with their ages so close, thus, working together is very easy. For his own performance, he had very high expectations, Even if the director says OK, he would still ask for another take, and definitely not compromising.


Jason was born in England and came to Taiwan not too long ago. His Chinese is not good as he played the role of an intern named Hao Xiao Gang in The Hospital.

Actually, he and Jerry has good relationship even in private. they played basketball together, and this is the first time they appeared together in the same scene in the drama. When he felt upset because his own Chiinese speaking is not very well, Jerry said "if you will just understand your own role, then you would know how to act it." and that Jerry encouraged him so much.
