Debuting in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1999, Arashi is a Japanese boyband consisting of five members who first worked under the label Pony Canyon, before finally moving to their own label, J-Storm, in 2002. Their debut hit single, A.Ra.Shi, which went on to sell almost a million copies, and became the theme song for the 8th World Cup of Volleball, and an estimated 80,000 fans showed up at their debut event to see their live performance. Their first nationwide tour started on March 25, and went on to perform in 9 different perfectures with 26 performances in Japan, ending only on April 30, 2001.
Arashic, the group's sixth studio album of the group released on July 5th 2006 , was not only released in Japan, but also in Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. It proved so successful, that in Korea, the first 10,000 copies of the album were sold out within the first day, and topped the non-Korean sales chart on the third week of July.
Arashi's Korean concert in November 12, 2006, made them the first group from Johnny's Entertainment to perform an individual concert in Korea, and proved popular when their concert tickets were sold out in an hour, with about 150,000 people rushing to book tickets online. They also represented Japan in 2006's Asia Song Festivel held in South Korea.
The group's success in 2007 was at its peak, with a concert tour in five major domes in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka and Sapporo, with a tour titled ARASHI Marks 2008 Dream-A-Live, the only other Johnny artist to have done this five dome tour are SMAP and KinKi Kids, the two veteran groups of Johnny's. Arashi was also the third music group to perform at Tokyo's National Stadium in their first major outdoor concert on September 5, 2008, a kick-off spot for their second Asia tour which included Taipei, Seoul and Shanghai, Johnny's first concert in China. The groups 23rd single "Truth" topped the Oricon charts for the year, along with "One Love" in second place, the first artist since 1989 to take two top placings in the charts. Their 24th single, "Beautiful Days", also snagged the 10th best selling single of the year. Arashi also sang the Japan theme song for the 2008 Olympic Games, "Kaze no Mukou E", a preppy beat to encourage the Japan athletes. Member Sakurai Sho also received the honour to be Japans official tele-newscaster for the Olympics. Arashi has also been the host for 24hour TV, a Japan charity show shown once every four years, where the five members performed various tasks in helping the sick, disabled and elderly, as well as bringing hope to the rest of the world, and bringing attention to disease ridden countries such as Cambodia, who has many children infected with AIDS due to no fault of their own. Matsumoto Jun went to Cambodia himself to investigate, and touched the hearts of many when he explained the story behind each and every child's life.
As of year 2009, Arashi started it with a bang, their 25th single "Believe" the theme song for movie "Yatterman" in which member Sakurai Sho stars in, achieving over 500,000 sales in less then a week, something which hasn't been achieved for three years, ever since Kat-tun's single "Real Face" released in 2006. To date, the group has released ten studio albums and 25 singles, as well as 8 photobooks and held over 9 concerts with many performances. Arashi has also won a myriad awards, the latest being the Single of the Year for "Truth/Kaze no Mukou E" single.
Arashi also hosts many variety shows, which includes Mago Mago Arashi, a show where members go to houses of old citizens to help them out for a day, Odoroki no Arashi, in which members conduct many meaningless, crazy experiments, as well as Golden Rush Arashi, where they explore the culture of Japan, to name a few. VS Arashi, a gameshow which involves the group as well as guests, and Himitsu no Arashi, which the members explore secrets of the society, are currently still airing, and Arashi no Shukudai-kun is a variety show hosted by members and Ogura-san, is to date, their longest running airing variety show, aired since 2006.

Videos are the life of any fandom, and though Arashi videos are few and scarce on streaming sites due to strict rules from JE, there are a few notable ones.
And within some groups, Arashi's concerts are considered legendary. Their concerts have always been more like a rave party, and many would pay their worth in gold just to attend one of the concerts.
As of the year 2009, Arashi's albums comprises of eight studio albums, 2 compilation albums and twenty six singles, as well as eight video albums. They have also accumulated an amount of 33 music videos.
Arashi has not done many movies as a group, but a few has been shot, mainly back in the early start of their debut.
Pikanchi Life is Hard Dakedo Happy, and Pikanchi Life is Hard Dakara Happy are the same movie of two parts. The story tells of five best friends who stay in a apartment complex, and face many different problems. Dakara continues from the first, picking up on 5 years later, and what had happened to the five best friends, and altogether teaches viewers on the importance of friendship and kinship, and is not at all like the typical romance type dramas. Yellow Tears, or Kiroi Namida tells of a story based on dreams, hope, freedom and adolescent tragedy, a story set in Tokyo during 1950's. V no Arashi is one of their earliest drama which had all Arashi members acting together after their debut.This short drama acts as a support for the Japanese Volleyball team which had Arashi as their image character.

i love their baka-ness! at first the only one i liked was Jun but when i started listening to their music and watching their clips and shows i began to have a greater appreciation of them as a group. now i really love all of them! most of my friends have Aiba as their fave Arashi mem. he's so clueless but in a very lovable way.

^ in case you guys dont know, that clip of Arashi on youtube is a clip out of their movie Pika*Nchi, so they're in character, which means most likely the real Arashi wouldn't react to a porn movie in that way.
Arashi debuted in 1999 first in Hawaii, then the day after in Japan with their debut single "ARASHI"

Pika*Nchi is a movie starring all 5 of the Arashi members. and its basically about 5 very different adolescents (each one of them are very...unique XDD in their own ways) that grew up together in a complex and that are really close friends. it basically talks about their struggles and problems and how they overcame them and such. Pika*Nchi is the year before the 5 of them enter university, in other words, the last year of highschool.
they also did a sequel named Pika**Nchi Double (which is another movie) based on the same 5 people but a couple years later. they regroup and its another set of obstacles they go through.

regarding the Pikanchi movies, so sorry but there are no english subs. i've seen both but i was just staring at their faces the whole time since i dont speak jap... well only d basics. but it was pretty interesting and jun looked so kawaii in it so that more than made up for the lack of subs.
some of my fave Arashi songs would have to be Wish, Sakura Sake, Tomadoinagara, Hitomi No Naka No Galaxy, Pikanchi and Pikanchi Double, Hero and jun's La Familia. their songs really have nice melodies.

i love sho. i fell for him after seeing a clip of youtube where he and some host try talking english to a machine (robot dog with mic...i think). the robot dog couldn't understand them so sho puts the robot's dog mic in his mouth. i'm smiling just thinking about it. he's such a cute dork.
i love his deep voice.
my favorite arashi songs are Sakura Sake and Tomadoinagara. i can listen and watch anything of these two songs non-stop.

I'm not quite sure on this, but I heard that Sho knows a little bit of Spanish? And I guess Arashi wants to be diverse? XD But it relates to the song right? Like La Tormenta means storm? and the song is all about the members of "Arashi" which means Storm in japanese. And La Familia i'm guessing means family? And that's a song of thanks Mastujun sang to the Arashi members - his family? Hope that helps a little.

arashi makes great music! love almost all their songs! haha....I duno i usually don't like to be a supportor of one of the members and therefore like the whole group but when it came to arashi, i started out liking Jun as a actor, than i gave their songs a try and i just fell in love with them. I like every memeber, but i can't help but think they kinda more successful as actors well for Nino and Jun at least.
I heard under Jun's thread there he's going to be starring under a new drama, another drama that is from a manga originally. For those interested should check out Jun's thread there.

i think they're referring to his drama sp. it's not a full drama since it's only one ep. it will be shown on the 28th. nino's drama sp was shown just a couple of days ago and i heard it's really touching. he played a young man w/ a termina disease. he even shaved his head for it. im so happy he's in that hollywood movie. he can be the arashi -bait for westerners as jun is for most asian countries. i heard nino was touched when ohno gave him some money to spend in LA. he's really a great leader ne?

im guessing the "now" concert you're referring to is the iza now con? that was released on dvd...but ONE tour was never released, so i'm guessing if you didnt fly all the way to japan you might not have seen it? but there are some fan recorded ones floating around on net.
i like both cons more than their older ones =), but i havent seen Howz It Going? concert yet, and i heard that its really good? the solos are really entertaining too...theres always a lot of talk about the solos

the Iza Now con was in 2004, One con was last year. i think How's it Going was in 2003. not sure though. iv seen Iza Now and it was sooooo good! that was the 1st time i saw them dance and sing since knowing jun was a member. they're awesome dancers i tell you. iv seen some clips from One con and it was also ok. but some say Iza Now was so much better. iv also seen their D No Arashi special con (winter con). it was actually funny.

i only see jun stripped at cm one concert.....any have the full clip? he so hot...hahaha i think they are good dancer...but i had read that aiba not really good in dance...he always forgot the step...that why he alway fall down during the concert..poor aiba... a have the clip your eyes with delight at iza now...the clip was focus at each member...so there are 5 split clip...i like aiba's close up...bcoz at one scene sho look at aiba wather he forgot or not his step...n aiba looks so shy...so sweet....
hmmm...aiba isn't a gud dancer....i always thought he looked really pro...maybe he's just shy n all...n awww....i hafn't cn aiba's eyez wif delight...i onli watched jun jun's version...their dance moves 4 dat song was really really qt...^^v

haha poor aiba-chan XD its just cuz he's a baka, so he forgets dance steps sometimes XD
i think for solos the boys have a big say in what they want to do. a lot of the time they choreograph for themselves...write their own songs etc. so im just saying i dont think anyone MADE mastujun do those steps

the clip before the perf was so hot! wish i was one of the girls stripping his clothes off. but the dance was just horrible! he shld never attempt to do an ero dance. just leave it to tackey and kat tun. arashi's style of dancing is similar to nsync.

i think they still have a choreographer helping them but most of the ideas are from the members so jun has a lot to do w/ the With Me choreo. so sad...
