charray is the besttt =D in yummy yummy i thought they will be paired up so i was looking forward to it. but it ended up in a disappointment. im so glad abt LWOLAP! hehe. GO CHARRAYYYYYY!!!

lolzzz I would if I have time, but currently.... I am buried in school work ..... With the little time I have I spend it reading Charmaine and Ray's news lolzz See how obsessed I am? I just ADORE this couple!!!
BTW, did you guys know that both Raymond and Charmaine took ballet when they were younger? So KUTE and TALENTED!!!

For some reason I think Raymond likes Charmaine as a friend/working partner more than Tavia. I have nothing against FungYi but I just think that Raymond seems.... more comfortable with Charmaine, lol, sometime they flirts and tease each other. HAHA.... Can't stop smiling.

Aww....that's so sweet! Yes, you should see the big smile on my face now!! I sure think Ray likes Charm as a friend/co-worker too. They are very compatible and Ray has said that he is very comfortable with Charmaine. I think he has say good things about Charm's acting skills etc.

Yes! They mentioned that they are very comfortable working with each other before. Charmaine even said he's after Chilam! Knowing how comfortable Charm is with Chilam, getting second place is one heck of an achievement! And good plot for a fanfic AZN!

What do you guys think it would be better?
Shanghai in the 30' or the time from now?

I mean 30' would make it a LOT more romantic. And I personally really like Shang Hai in the 30'. You know; the costumes and the absolutely beautiful atmosphere in the streets (Especially when it is night). And if Charmaine sits in the Fung's Coffeeshop while drinking coffee, she must see some beautiful atmosphere outside to have a unforgettable memory. But that can't, if it's in the time of now (Sitting in a romantic place, but looking at some stupid buildings outside, is definitely not romantic lol) And maybe.. (I'm not sure -.-)I can do something with the song Shanghai Night (Yeh Shanghai). Something like a sweet memory between Charray, dunno lol. Because I personally like this song.. (Yeah, a little old fashion herr?? ) And I think it really suits the atmosphere of the 30' in Shanghai.

BUT if I choose the 30', I CANNOT use you know, mobile conversations and more ''technical thingeys''.. lol, that means now telephones, the characters can't call eachother whenever they want.. They have to find a phonecell first.. Oh-no..

Hmm.. I'm so confused.. Anyone like to help me out?

I think I would prefer Shanghai in the 30's because if they cant call each other, a lot of suspenseful things might happened and Ray could use this opportunity to walk Charmaine home...etc...hehehe

I would like Shanghai in the '30s too. It will be soooooo romantic. I think the old fashioned way of courtship can be so subtle and thus very intriguing. I think we can skip the details like calling each other very easily even if you choose to write in the '30s setting.

On another note though, Shanghai today still has a very romantic and "old" side. I mean the Bund has all those buildings from the turn of the century, the older neighbouthood still has those old buildings, alleys and the nostalgic feeling. There are many people like me, visit Shanghai nowadays just to get a taste of the romantic feelings in the past, trying to get a glimpse of the Shanghai's glory past. I find the city extremely romantic, especaily at night, or when it is foggy. It is a city with 2 identities, a cross-over of old and new. Your story can be a mix of this past and present too.

Yeah, Charlian is awesome as well but I love Charray more.

And xfantasy, I would advice that you try using the modern settings, and use what Helen described. As for the romance, heck, Raymond doesn't need to lack a handphone to be a gentleman right! LOL...

Erh, I know some of us also like Charlian. Here's a recommended fan fic that consists of a few JC short stories. That's pure JC and awwwww, Julian is super super sweet to Charm. Beyond I can describe.

xfantasy, I agree with the majority others that you should create the setting for you fanfic in the 30s.... since we already have the feel for CharRay in modern time (Yummy Yummy) and ancient time (LWOLAP) ... Plus, ShangHai in the 30s would be such a romantic place for this kute kouple! Imagine smoke rising from hot coffee cups instead of smog rising from car exhaust..... Charm and Ray seem to be really good friends. Ray is such a gentlemen by helping Charm fix up her hair n stuff. I think this is his personality, but HK people are very sensitive and misunderstood loh, so always say that he is a playboy. I am not hinting there are any rumours of him and Charm, so people, don't get too excited. I am just saying that in general.

Hmmm...looking back, perhaps you should try the 30s then. But modern will be easier .

As for Charlian, I like them too but Charray is pure love. I didn't love them just because of majority. I've read many bad comments but I still love them! So basically I love Charray more .
