I have always wondered about something. We have always been amazed by the chemistry shared between Charmaine and Raymond in LWOLAP, and I can't actually decide on what is so electrifying. I thought upon this for awhile.

I think, like always, their emotional eyes that expresses as much as a whole novel really helped in developing these two very heartfelt characters. One pair of electric eyes is already good enough, but adding TWO EXPERTS makes it ELECTROSTATIC! One can see the vibes of love, appreciation and gratitude, admiration and comfort emanating from their eyes and meeting the other. It's MUCH BETTER than physical contact in my opinion. I have always preferred subtle love, which seems more pure and sincere.

Also, both Charmaine and Raymond really does pay attention to small details. I really do think that they both try their very best to immerse themselves into their respective roles, because all the UNCOUNTABLE PRICELESS expressions that they gave is just so true and real that I am not so sure that even the mature two can think them up!

For example, Charmaine receiving the grass birds from Raymond in the forest (episode 15), she cupped her hands around the two birds and cradled them in such a loving manner that it made me feel all the appreciation that Chun Mung Yiu is feeling. Same thing with the riverside scene where Raymond took hold of her hands and she laid her other on his instead. I can feel all her love and passion for Raymond with just this motion! Her most priceless expressions are all her sweet smiles of love . All of them just makes my heart melt. Especially in episode 15, when she bought food for Raymond! So much love!

RAYMOND is also extremely awesome! The most unforgettable and priceless expression from him is when he found Charmaine with her scarred face in episode 9. He unveiled her veil and the horror and shock in his eyes is so clearly depicted that I just felt so...so...amazed and impressed. He made me cry with his pity and sadness for Chun Mung Yiu and also Charmaine's heartbroken performance made me FLOOD the room. The way he looks, hugs, touches and talks to Charmaine is also so gentle and full of ... this special feeling.

This sort of love by them is not the hot passion that is considered the most intimate love nowadays. It's a perpetual feeling that is everlasting to the end of the world. A subtle yet strong emotion vibrating from their hearts that would never stop. A passion for the other that would never wane. Strong against all winds like the young bamboo shoots, pure and fresh and sweet. A deep deep love that breaks human boundaries and reaches the other through mind and heart.

What do you think of this chemistry of them in LWOLAP?

^ Agree Range! They definitely got a great chemistry, both can talk with their eyes, and both can cry real (omg, the part where Charm cried because she found out GBW killed her sifu was really real! Her eyes were red) Just love them

Oh Bear, this is such a nice MV!! Mixing PONR with Taichi! This is hard to do,but you did an excellent job. I love the song too! It was one of my favourite Anita's song plus I LOVE the series with Gordon Lam and Kathy Chow.
I have to keep reminding myself not to rush you, but the anticipation is killing me! Hope to see your fan fic soon. So glad you chose Shanghai in the '30s. It is such a turmoil period makes it even more romantic.....

Well said, Range. I tried to put in words exactly why and what is so great about Charray's chemisty. But I can't.

I just love every smile, every look, every conversation Charray exchanged. I liked the feeling this pair gave me. There are no superficial passionate scenes to show us the love between FHL and CMY. Instead Ray and Charm have used their hearts to help us feel what the characters feel.

Remember the scene when they were at the river bank on the night before they have to part and became enemies? No kiss. No hug. No "I can't live without you, don't leave me" kind of conversation. They even seated quite far from each other, actually. But you can just feel the understanding, the natural bonding and the cozy feeling from the hearty converstaion they shared, watching the stars and anticipate the sunrise together. It is like a small yet ever flowing stream, so smooth, so calm, so quiet, but below the serene surface, there is a strong and determined force. This is what I called ever lasting love. Deep, not superficial.

They are so many classic scenes that I don't need to mention. I am sure all of yu loved them. I even liked the casual conversation they shared as they walked back after sending off those floating candles. "ARe you hungry?" "no, and you" and a cute giggle. Charray has paid so much attention to details, or should I say they have immerged themselves so well into the characters that the bonding of this pair comes so natural.

Sometimes I am quite upset when I came across fans comments about how CMY doesn't love FHL or she used him. I won't go into details here as this is a whole new topic. But I just have to say, these people haven't used their heart to see Charray.

Yep Bear . Both absolutely skillful and as for crying, it is Charmaine's arena! Her crying is incredibly real. I like the way she speaks when she cry especially. TOO REAL. The most memorable crying scene for me is definitely the GBW conflict part, the death of her sifu part (her eyes so red...) and the part where Raymond comforts her and she hugs him. WONDERFUL SCENES.

And I just finished watching your MV. It is great, except that the Raymond scenes are very lacking. But definitely not your fault! Hmm...it would be so perfect if there are more Raymond scenes. He is awesomely suave in Tai Chi. I am not too fond of old songs. Anita, Leslie, Alan Tam .... I don't seem to be able to appreciate their songs. I am 14 after all!

Bear, I also definitely recommend http://winglin.net for your fanfic. There is a wider range of public there and more Charray fans I guess. In AF, the readers might not be as acceptable and I predict some insults from Charray haters in the future.

Susan, maybe you should try download Storm Codec 5? It enables WMP play .rmvb extensions and even have MPC (Media Player Classic) included. I can play it fine though. Or try redownloading.

yeah I know Raymond's clips are very lacking. I wish Tai Gik was already out, so I can use some better clips of him. Yeah I tried to find more Ray clips, but didn't found anything. And Tai Gik is the only serie of Ray in the '30 - '50.. (Right?! lol XD)

Well, as for their chemistry in LWOLAP, i can't type as long as u all did, but i have to say their chemistry is comfortable and amazing in the serie... and their acting make a bonus for these excellent chemistry...
They don't need intimate scene to show their chemistry, just their eyes, expressions show their chemistry they have, and that's why it's amazing....
Really like them a lot....

Range, i cant help it. Over here, lwolap comes out a tape each week which consisted of 4-5 episodes i think at the same time. Thats why im in rage right now...cause my brother forgot to rent it TODAY! ROAR!! eee >_< and yep...i kno i will be addicted and WHAT!!?? esp 15..I guess im going for the "scarred face scene"..tskkk.....

I am not really sure what are the two doing together.
But they sort of look as one couple.

Erh, I used to be a diehard Charlian fan too. I still am. I will always be. BUT, to me Charray has quickly risen to the same level as Charlian, if not more. Only after one series! That's amazing to me. Maybe their acting skills are so mature now, as compared to Charm and Chilam in ROTC.

I remembered when I first saw Charlian in ROTC, I fell in love with Chilam, I begin to like Charm, but still not so crazy about Charlian. I only got crazy about Charm after 7 sisters. However, through these years, after seeing Charlian over and over ( 2 moives, 2 series, numerous TV shows, Advertisements, etc.) and reading the fan fics, my feelings for them build up and to a point that it is rooted so deeply in my heart.

So I am saying Charray has A LOT OF POTENTIAL. If only TVB will give them more chances together, I am quite sure you guys will have stronger and deeper feelings for Charray.

To me, Charlian has been my top favorite for like, 5 years now. They are like friends you grew up together. I cannot just abandon them, right? So despite I am crazy about Charray and they are my top favourite now, Charlian is still on the same level.

Did you guys know that the TVB magazine popularity contest results are out? Range told me that the Myolie forum has clippings of the results. Charray was not on the list.. Somehow I just don't know what those HK people are thinking!!!

Also, not sure if you guys have ever heard of a very popular Mainland China show "The same song". This show goes to various locations around the world and usually only the top singers, artistes and celebrities are invited to perform on the show. Raymond was invited to perform at a recent one held in Xiamen University. He was invited because he is an alumnus. It was very interesting that all the "official" profiles of Raymond did not mention that he went to Xiamen University. They only emphasize he studied in USC in Los Angeles. Well, I don't think he graduated in either school. Anyone knows how long he studied at Xiamen Uni?
