I think this was a pre-recorded interview.
Part 1 (I don't know when part 2 will be broadcasted, but if does, ill upload it as well)
Host: now beside me is popular idol WuZun. WuZun, first say hello to our Brunei audience
WuZun: hello Brunei, I am Fahrenheit’s WuZun
Host: I’m sure that many of our audience is very interested in knowing how WuZun was first discovered into pursuing his career in Taiwan
WuZun: before I went to Taiwan, I was in Singapore doing modeling. When I was there, it was half vacation and half work. Then I met a famous modeling company’s producer from Taiwan, and he asked me if I was interested into going to Taiwan to model. I originally like to travel to different places, so when he asked me if I want to go to Taiwan, I thought that it was a good idea. After I went, I went for about a month, I saw “Tokyo Juliet’s” producer while watching a movie. They were the ones that produced “Meteor Garden,” and asked me if I was interested. I thought that the company was pretty good, but I was also very afraid because people from Brunei never thought of themselves as becoming a star, Brunei doesn't have an entertainment circle. So when I was given this opportunity, I was very scared, since I had to play the main lead, and work with Ariel Lin and Simon Yam. But at the same time, I thought that this chance was very special and rare because if a Brunei person has such a chance, they must grasp it. I’m also young, so I took it as a chance to learn as well. They also searched for the male lead for a long time and thought that I was very suitable, so I went for casting and they chose me.
Host: how long did it take you to decide to accept this idol drama?
WuZun: when I was in Taiwan for that month, I received a lot of business cards from other idol companies since they were also looking for new idols. There were a few really good companies, but I chose this one in the end because I felt that it was a really good company. I also talked about this with my family, and we talked about this for about a month because I have my own gym in Brunei, so I would be giving up a lot of things if I chose this. I needed to think for both sides, so it was quite a hard decision. In the end, I felt that this was indeed a rare opportunity, so I decided to accept it.
Host: what was your mood and feeling like when you went to Taiwan?
WuZun: feeling? During that time, it was quite lonely because it was a change of environment and I was alone, I had no friends. My personality is also quite closed, the type that would not become an idol. My friends from Brunei didn't believe that I would become an artist; they said that if I was able to perform on stage, they would give me $5000. I didn't dare, even to accept an award, but now I’m accustomed to it as I need to act in dramas in front of everyone. It’s quite difficult, and I remember there was one time when I cried at home.
Host: too lonely
WuZun: too lonely, and too stressed, very difficult.
Host: who was your first friend in Taiwan?
WuZun: first friend? I think it was the producer that discovered me. He is a very nice man, and he was the one who discovered me so he took care of me.
Host: your first drama was “Tokyo Juliet,” could you share your experience with us?
WuZun: I think acting is not easy, especially for new people, plus I was working with very professional artists. The character I played is the total opposite from me, so it was a challenge for me. But luckily the people I worked with are very good, the director was very good and Ariel, she is very professional, and Simon, he taught me a lot. Slowly I got used to it.
Host: when you got your script for the drama, you must have been quite stressed because of the language
WuZun: yeah, that was very difficult. When I first for the script, my company would tell me to read it out loud, and make sure I made the right pronunciations. I would read it everyday, and I would do that everyday, just that. Also I had a lot of lines, so I had to practice
Host: just keep on repeating
WuZun: keep on repeating. Sometimes we would need to incorporate feelings and emotions as well
Host: so there wasn't any cue cards or anything?
WuZun: no, none. We had to remember it all. And the worst thing is, Taiwan people, they can use their own way of saying it, but I couldn't because I didn't know the right phrases. Even if I knew what the lines meant, asking me to use my own mandarin to express it, it was hard.
music: Fahrenheit – Zhan YouHost: so after “Tokyo Juliet” you accepted your next drama, “Hana-Kimi” which is very popular right now. What differences are there between the 2 dramas?
WuZun: there is a big difference because the genres are different. One is like a comedy, the other is like revenge and love. When I filmed “Hana-Kimi” I was quite happy because it is a comedy and the people were very fun. I also met Ella, she is the very outgoing and very funny.
Host: as of now, which is your favourite character?
WuZun: I think both are not bad, but the first time acting “Tokyo Juliet,” the character is very different, but if you gave me another chance, I would want to make it better. It was my first time, so I was nervous, so if I got the chance, I would want to act it out better
Host: maybe next time
WuZun: yeah, work hard on my future characters
Host: Ariel and Ella, who do you think you match more with?
WuZun: I’m really good with both, and they both are very willing to help me out because they see that I came here by myself, so they help me.
Host: not because you are good looking?
WuZun: no, they are very pretty themselves. Ariel is more mature, not the type to joke around. Ella is the type that will joke and play around on set.
Host: very silly
WuZun: yeah
music: Fahrenheit – Super Like YouHost: before you went to Taiwan, you were a model. What is the difference between modeling and an artist?
WuZun: there is a big difference. As a model, you just need to finish your work. As an artist, you need to take into account many things. You will have fans, and you need to be a good role model, because every action you take will influence them. Also the work pressure, because we are a group, the things we do, we need to care for the other members. Also, the difference between filming and modeling is that, modeling, all you need to do is do a show or a commercial, but when filming, you will be interacting with the same people for 3 or 4 months. You will need to have a good relationship with the crew, or else it would be hard to work with them
Host: as of now, who do you not get along with?
WuZun: none, everyone is quite nice
Host: “Hana-Kimi” has the highest rating in Taiwan right now right?
WuZun: right, very happy because many people are watching “Hana-Kimi.” Before when I filmed “Tokyo Juliet,” not everyone would know me, but now wherever I go, everyone knows who I am. Although the filming process was tiring, it was very fun. S.H.E’s Ella is very busy, so when filming this, she only had 3 months to spare, we had to finish it in 3 months. So we would rush the filming from 10am to 12am. Even though it was hard, the final result was worth it, and was very entertaining. The ratings are very good too, coming first place
Host: and she is also your senior
WuZun: right.
Host: so I heard that if the ratings pass 10, you guys will need to do something
WuZun: that was a joke, because passing 10 is highly unlikely. Passing 5 is not bad already
Host: do you another dramas after “Hana-Kimi?”
WuZun: this depends on the company, but I think next year, no 2007, there will be idol drama. But if there was the chance, I would like to film a movie
