jay chou doesnt really sing that good, i think, you can hardly hear wat he sings most of the time becuase he mumbles so much

he can sing..buit sometimes when i hear him i cant even understand wat the heck he is saying..its like he is mumbling words or something...but yeah his songs are good..but every album seems to be similar...i mean da songs seems to be very alike to each other...

he is soooo awesome and talented!!!!! best singer ever! and he does say the words to his songs, its just that his songs are really really fast, so he needs to say them quickly!

anyway, he sings pretty good as well. I'm getting sick of Jay's slurring. I used to like it but now its kinda bugging me.

personally i don't like him and i don't hate him. but he's really...maybe too style. i'm simply too outdate to accept his style of singing. i agree with someone that says he is mumbling.

I think he's talented musically, can compose many nice songs, play many instruments, but singing wise...I don't think it's very good, just okay, maybe above average, but there are others better than him.

i like jay chou music.But dont like his looks, sometimes he looks like a kid or a little ignorant.

I don't agree with what u r saying. he has his own style of singing and that makes him unique. He raps well and even created several original songs that are enjoyed by so many pple.

jay chou may not have the BEST male voice right now, but his talent for music/piano makes up for it. just because he may not be able to hit really high notes, doesn't make him a bad singer. he's still incredibly talented. <3

I have a album of jay chou. I think it is a very good album i lissen to it all the time.
Only a few songs are bad. But the rest is ok

He used to be better, but have been going down hill since the second album. He can really talented and can write very well, but sing?

I LOVE JAY!!!! his voice suits his style. if it weren't for him, i'd never gotten into the asian music thing. the man is a god

this guy is talented... knows how to compose his own songs (and for others)... play instuments (think the piano and the cello... maybe few others) and sing... although i have to admit his singing is not that great... especially for slow feeling type songs.... his voice is much more suited to fast mumbling type songs..

I think he doesnt sing that well, but his musical talent wif piano and other instruments is really good. And that makes up for his mumbling, + since he mumbles so much, hes easy to mimic when you sing along ^__^ hehe

Jay's singing isn't bad at all... His singing may not be the best, but he more than makes up for it with his original musical style.

first of all I think he's mad talented!!! i dunno about your opinions but my opinions are sticking at my side! unlike others he composes, produces, and puts time and effort into his songs i dunno about mumbling because i really appreciate his lyrics and they're all mad good =P hehe i dunno i'm not hating on him...is this a hater's thread? lol

Jay is not only a talented singer he is also a talented composer. He has his own style and doesn't have to copy other people.

When I first saw him I thought he looked very elfish like, but now the more I see him, the more I think he looks better. But his hair is kinda annoying sometimes.

hes neutral to me..=) his singing is quite good except his typical songs that all sound the same..but there are quite a few unique songs he has=D

OMG what u mean Jay chow can't sing. i think he is one of the most talented singers out there man. he can do all the vocals, o and when he plays the piano...Jus the best.

Jay Chou can really compose music and all, but this guy can't really sing. He just mumbles and his album, his styles are repeative. He would have couple songs that are slow, then the rest are weird rapp that aren't catchy. Of course the songs where he rap has nice music to it, but his rapping is just pure mumbling. He just sing in this monotone voice and most of his songs, he can't even go high. Merely choking on something. Or it sounds like he's smoking too much crack. About to black out.

Im guessing most people think hes just mumbling, but they just aren't quick enough to understand....though at times it might seem like it, and maybe when hes tired he might, but its his own style of fast singing...

very styling, looks like he puts much effort and soul into his producing/making of his songs and performance as well

I don't dislike or like him, just feel that his current songs not as good as his previous one, esp Ye Hui Mei, so dissapointing. Haven't heard his latest one, cause I lost interest already.

^ Actually, I do not find him to be good-looking. Not handsome, no. But his style and the way he carries himself about is cool and cute. That attracts girls. Then there is his music. I have his CDs, but I do not often listen to them--only his fast songs. LOL. Although some of his slow songs are good too--some are just too slow and boring to me. His voice is quite alright (but he tends to use "fake" high pitches at times). Overall, I think Jay is talented, being able to sing, play the piano, dance well, etc.

I personally like his style of singing, especially his rapping. I think he's one of the best Mandarin rappers there is. As for not understanding what he's singing about, that doesn't bother me since I don't understand much Mandarin anywayz.

he might not be the most handsome ...hmph or even decent looking guy .. but this guy got talent. I admire him for his ability to compose songs as well as sing them by himself... not like other singers who buy melodies from composers..this guys is for realz

not every song. However he has some input in all, he doesn't just takes it away from people. He aslo acknowledges that some lyrics were written by others and he couldn't remember them in his performances...

Man...Jay is a PIMP. No one comes close to him in in the Mando R&B world. The thing about Jay is that he tries new things....like the one song in which he went to Italy to shoot his video cause the theme of the song has to do with some kinda Roman Catholic thing or another.

I don't think you can hate on a guy that has talent and writes his own songs. You have to give credit to that! His songs are the best there is and the lyrics really mean a lot. His videos are probably the best videos because there is actually time spent on it rather than a cheap video with no meaning in it.

i don't think he is that good either.. i admit he sings well.. but his songs have been pretty similar and there isn't much breakthrough since the 2nd album

I think its very immature to judge an artist by their looks, I mean after all its their music (or at least should be) that makes them famous and a good artist. I mean, if they want to be a model, then they should do that. And while some artists are blessed with good looks and a good voice, it doesnt mean the ugly ones cant sing well.

In any case I never really saw Jay as ugly..and I think he has some real talent. I mean few popular artists especially in the pop industry actually writes their own music. Its simply unheard of almost anymore.

hmm... he's a great artist. he might not have the looks but he surely has talent.

he's not being a copycat when he brings chinese and western style together. that what makes him different from other artists who try so hard to become like those american ones. listen to his songs... the melody... the lyrics. its way different from the current western songs you're hearing. its WAY better.

hmm.. I actually thought this thread was really interesting, mainly cos i didn't think anyone could hate Zhou Jie Lun, but hey, I am obviously quite biased

Maybe his diction isn't always super-clear, but he puts so much feeling into what he sings, you can still understand what its about. I'm only learning Mandarin at the moment, but I 'get' what he's singing about very much.

I think his voice is very soulful and unique, and he can get higher notes than me, and I'm a chick hahaha. As for his talent as as musician and songwriter, well, I think he's the best. I don't get tired of listening to his music or his singing. His MV's have so much effort put into them they are always very watchable and well thought out.

besides, I think its wrong to hate anyone.. especially if you don't know them.

i liked him when his first album came out...it was really good cause it was "REAL" music....and all the other hk pop suck!

after his second album, i found that his songs were pretty similar....but it was still ok for me....

when his third album came out, i finally got tired of his style....his R&B is similar to hk pop.....and i feel that he's changed his style to suit hk fans tastes.....
and i know think he has no style anymore!
