Hello all.
I hope you don't mind me joining. You guys sure have a lot of gorgeous pictures of Myolie. I love the third magazine that
actuallyluv posted up. It makes Myolie looks very serene and pure yet alluring at the same time. Best picture of Myolie I have seen in a while.
Hershey Bar, I've noticed that there are many people that seem to hate Myolie too. Many of them just claim that Myolie is ugly or another superficial reason. Really though, if fans are fans of a person just because they are pretty than I wouldn't really consider them actaul fans instead. I mean, looks can certainly be part of the reason why but it shouldn't be the only reason. So do they stop liking an actress/actor once they become "uglier"? I try to ignore those "fans" since I do find them ridiculous. I do not find that Myolie has an annoying voice at all, there are plenty more "squeaky" and more annoying voices out there which I shall leave unnamed. I do admit that sometimes I find that Myolie overacts but not as much as everyone else claims. I didn't find her overacting in TGWL. I might have dislike the story and the actual character Fei Tin, but I didn't see anything wrong with Myolie's performance. Speaking of which, I think the main reason people say Myolie is overrated is because she got nominated for Best Actress for TGWL. Im not saying she didn't deserve it but also everyone and the media are all saying that she should win it because
she gained weight. I, personally, don't find that to be the right reason to give someone the Best Actress award. It is an acting award afterall and the media should have focused more on Myolie's acting instead of her figure during that time. I find the media is to blame for the whole Myolie is overrated thing. They made it all a battle between Myolie and Charmaine when in fact, I believe Sheren and Ada also did a great job. So I guess what I'm saying is that by making it only between Myolie and Charmaine, Sheren, Ada, and Gigi were completely excluded and it made their fans find it ridiculous since they believe Myolie is only up their because of her weight gain and not because of her acting skills.

Deci16, I completely agree with your post. It is ridiculous for others to come to the FAN thread to diss the actress/actor or to just rate it down. There certainly isn't a point to it and they have the critics thread if they want to vent. It is just childish and obsessive.
So Myolie doesn't end up with Raymond in the Drive of Life then? I was hoping to see them together instead of Charmaine and Raymond. Now I don't know if I want to watch it at all since I don't really like the pairing of Raymond and Charmaine and Ron and Toby...
Anyways, I do have something to contribute instead of just blabbing

WAD is doing pretty good since BSS dropped by alot since the first week and LA is still pretty low. Although WAD dropped from the first day ratings, I'm glad to see it maintained at least 30 points. It is a great series.

Yeah, I agree. There are some actresses that are extremely beautiful yet lack the acting ability. And there are some actresses that don't possess any outstanding beauty but able to preform well. To me, a fan who only like an actress or artist because of outer appearance isn't really a fan because he/she can change their idol in a finger snap time to another who is even more attractive. ( Hope you know what I'm blabbing about
) And to me, Myolie is not the most beautiful actress I have seen nor is the ugliest one. To me, she is average, or a little above average in look. But her acting skill and her down to earth personality exceeded her look for me. I love her because she is able to preform her character well. Yes, she did overacted sometime but which actress/ actors haven't?
And I also agree about how the media blew up the news on the award thing. I really thought that Sheren deserved to win than anyone. But the media only focus on Charmine and Myolie. Plus, they also mention how much weight Myolie put on just for it. It was ridicules!
Making it seemed like the only way Myolie can win against Charmine is to fatten up.
Anyway, enjoy your stay. I'm glad you also like Myolie.

Well if you mean out of Life Art, Best Selling Secrets and War and Destiny, then yes, it has been getting the highest ratings.

Did you guys know that they are cutting out 3 episodes of WAD in HK so it'll only be 27 eps? I don't really know how they are going to do that without ruining the whole series.
Hershey Bar, I feel like To Grow With Love is the series that brought Myolie's downfall. Well, not exactly downfall because her acting is still great but I mean with fans. After that series, it seems like a lot of people started to dislike Myolie. I mean, Myolie was sooo loved back during War of Inlaws and then TGWL happens and all the awards stuff and this happens. I hope Myolie gets another excellent role to win back the fans and to shut up the haters.
I actually find Myolie to be very pretty. I love her new short hair style because I think it really fits her but you're right, her down to earth personality is what drew me to her.

Myolie and Fala's First Appearance Together
Myolie Wu and Fala Chen appeared in some sexy dresses at an opening ceremony for a 3D-Gold branch in Sheung Shui together with company chairman Ms Ng Yee Mei. The ladies wore some precious diamond jewellery for the event each showing off their own beauty, Although there have been earlier rumours of Fala's blatant flirting with Myolie's rumoured boyfriend Bosco Wong, there was no animoscity between them at the event and they chatted away happily, shattering any rumours.
Myolie and Fala modelled different designs of jewellery, with Myolie's theme entitled 'A Dedication to Love' and Fala's set called 'Beautiful Dew in the Flowers'. Both sets were worth about $500,000. Myolie attended another opening for the company in January and as she had a day off yesterday, she was happy to attend again.
Asked if she felt awkward about the rumours surrounding her, Bosco and Fala, Myolie says that this is the first time that she has worked with Fala, but there is no awkwardness and it is probably thanks to the rumours that they have been asked to do this job together. Myolie praises Fala's beauty and says that when they met, they talked about clothes and diamonds. When the reporters commented that she outshone Fala in both her outfit and her jewels, Myolie asked not to be compared as they both look beautiful. Thanks for letting me know that she didn't do an interview with Bosco. I would love it if she actually did but oh well.
She looks so pretty and hot in all the pictures. Hm... I like it when her hair is short. It suits her more.
But the extention also looks nice on her.
So, she'll have a new series coming? Cool. Lets hope this one is better than To Grow with Love. Don't get me wrong. I love her in TGWL but it just the development of her character, and the sloppy story line ruin it. But her preformance was good!!
And I also hope that this series can help her gain her popularity back.
Hm... what kind of series do you guys think this will be? I'm hoping for some very dark mood, thriller kind. Like the one where the story is told in the eyes of the main character, not a general one. Do you guys know what I mean? Like a serial killer telling the story in his/her point of view, and then in the end, the truth is revealed.. Kind of like the movie Diary but with a better story line.

Myolie Understands Flowers Will not always be Red
Last year, Myolie gained 40 pounds to film ‘To Grow with Love’. She became a hot topic, and was even a big favorite for the Best Actress award at TVB’s anniversary. Even though ‘To Grow with Love’ only had average ratings and she did not win an award, she was able to secure her position as one of the top fadans. Recently, another one of her series, ‘War and Destiny’ has been airing, causing all attention to be on her once again.
The leading actresses in ‘War and Destiny’, other than Myolie, include Mandy Cho and Leila Tong. Myolie looks at the rating with a relaxed heart, she says, “I do not think about it too much, because ratings are something very hard to guess, many factors contribute to it. As an actress, I only need to do my best to film the series, and hope the audience will like it. I have always had this attitude and outlook because each year I film so many series; I do not have time to think about anything else. If I spend time worrying about the ratings, it will only affect my performance.”
Out of the three series TVB is currently airing, ‘War and Destiny’ has had the highest ratings. It has kept steadily at 30 points. But Myolie is very humble in saying, “These results are only for the time being, the series has not yet finished airing.” It can be seen that she really does not care about the actual number of the ratings.
Preparing Herself
Myolie appears in Beijing to film, in celebrating of Hong Kong returning to China for ten years, ‘The Drive of Life,’ which should finish filming at the end of April. In May, she may begin filming a new series. She says, “It is still undecided whether or not I will be filming a new series in May. ‘The Drive of Life’ has been filming for half a year already. When I am finished I want to take a break and get some rest.”
Remembering back to 2002, when Myolie won the audiences’ heart for her character Yan Yan in the long drama, ‘Golden Faith. Five years later she films another long drama, how does she feel? She says, “’The Drive of Life’ is a series to celebrate Hong Kong returning to China, the meaning is very big. I am working with a lot of good actors and I have learned a lot from the veteran actors in the series. When I filmed ‘Golden Faith,’ I was still a newcomer; of course the pressure then was not as great as it is now. Now when I am filming ‘The Drive of Life,’ I have certain expectations for myself.”
Myolie understands that ‘Flowers will not be red forever,’ so she has already prepared herself, that one day she will have to leave the path of being a ‘fadan’ and play characters such as a mother or an elder person. She says, “Acting and age goes hand-in-hand and grows together. I cannot play a ‘small flower’ (fadan) forever, people will get old eventually. I have already prepared myself, and I have confidence in myself, plus when I entered the industry, I knew I would have to act any type of character.”

Hi, I've just found this site and I joined because of Myoline. She is my favorite in the new TVB generation. Her look is so adorable and her acting skills are wonderful. She can play well in both comedy and drama. I can't wait to see her new series, especially WOIL 2.

Raymond, who was originally stationed in Beijing for the filming of "The Drive of Life," has taken time off work to return to Hong Kong for the promotion event of "Heart of Greed." War of In Laws will have a modern sequel. Ah Jie, Liza Wang, supports Bosco Wong
In 2005, War of In Laws (WOIL), starring Liza Wang, Bosco Wong, Myolie Wu, was extremely popular. It was watched by over 2.5 million viewers. It has been decided to film a modern sequel in June this year. As Bosco is currently filming another series, it is rumoured that he might not be able to participate in this modern version of WOIL. It has also been rumoured that Kenneth Ma might take Bosco's place in the modern version. However, nai nai (mother-in-law) displayed her sassy side and requested to keep the original cast. Ah Jie said, "If we are filming the modern version of WOIL, of course it would be better if we kept the original cast!"
A Happy Son. Rumours would be used to promote the series
War of In Laws peaked at 38 points, averaging around 35 points when it aired in 2005. This enabled WOIL to be the series to received the highest ratings in 2005. Ah Jie, Liza Wang, also received the TVB Best Actress in 2005 for her role in WOIL. As for her son, "But Lau Ming" acted by Bosco Wong and "daughter-in-law" Myolie Wu, their rumours have lasted until today.
According to reliable sources, TVB will be filming a 20 episode modern WOIL. However, it is not confirmed as it is in its early stages of planning. As for Bosco, he is currently filming a 80 episode Jewel Splendor. It is rumoured that Kenneth Ma will be replacing Bosco, but as there was extremely good chemistry between Liza and Bosco in the ancient version, Liza feels that it would be best to use the original cast to keep the original feel. Therefore, TVB has rearranged the shooting schedule for Jewel Splendor in order to allow Bosco to take part in the modern version of WOIL.
With Ah Jie's support, Bosco now has a chance to participate in the modern version, sacrificing Kenneth Ma. Yesterday, reporters called up Liza and Liza said, "Yes, there wil be a modern version, but I don't know anything about my character, you will have to ask the producer." (Is she strongly requesting for Bosco to be included) "Yes, he is going to be in the modern version, using the original cast would be best!" As for Kenneth Ma, "I know there would be a modern version, but I have never heard that they would be asking me to participate in it." (Are you disappointed?) "It is a waste for not being able to participate in every drama." As for Bosco, "I have heard of plans for a modern version, but I don't know the details, there would be a difference if Kenneth Ma is included, but there would be better chemistry if we used the original cast." When asked about his feelings about Liza strongly supporting him, Bosco said, "I really want to thank Liza for caring about me." Daughter-in-law also said, "I have heard that there will be a modern version, but it has not been confirmed. Rumoured love opponents, Myolie Wu and Fala Chen attended a Chivas event held for soccer fans on Saturday night.
Myolie, who studied in Ireland, learnt how to drink alcohol while overseas because people in that region have a passion for alcoholic beverages. The actress then disclosed that after entering the industry, she was afraid that drinking too much would cause her face to swell and so, stopped drinking. When winning a bottle of wine, Myolie was asked if she will share it with her rumoured boyfriend, Bosco Wong. Hm... my favorite Myolie series? Well, I like a lot. But if I have to chose, it'll be "Triumph in the Sky." I love that drama. I have re-watched over and over again. Love her in it.

I think her breakthrough was Survivor's Law. Ever since that drama came out, Myolie began to have semi main roles. I enjoyed seeing her in Survivor's Law. I even like her hippy hair. Many people said the hair doesn't suit her, said it made her face too big, but I absolutely love it! She was so mature in that series. She was only 23 or 24 when she filmed in it. Did you guys watch Survivor's Law? It's really good, you guys should watch it. I also enjoy Net Deception. Myolie was hella cute and cool in it.

The series I started to like Myolie was Survivor's Law. She and Raymond had SUCH awesome chemistry! They were so cute in it. My other favorite series of Myolie is War of In-Laws. Boscolie had superb chemistry--just like Rayolie.. haha
Net Deception was good too... I loved the sibling love Wong Hei and Myolie and Jackolie.. haha

I've just read the news of the interview between Myolie and Feng. They are so cute. Now, I'm okay with this couple. Even if she doesn't end up with Raymond, which I know she wouldn't, I'll watch it to support Myolie!!

You can totally see there are many interactions between Fenolie (Feng Shao Feng and Myolie). Shao Feng pretty much was facing Myolie the whole time and you can see he paid much more attention on Myolie than the other girl Zhao Ke.
Our Myolie's always so adorable. And you have to admit, Myolie's Mandarin is close to flawless!! I wish I can talk like this in Mandarin. Anyways ....
This interview is really really long, it's kinda hard to write the whole transcript of the interview ... lemme just share some of the highlights here.
It's funny near the beginning when the three described how they first met. Shao Feng complained that Myolie ignored him. haahahh Of course Myolie protested. Then Shao Feng said, "okay okay ... you were nice and friendly to me the first day but the next day you ignored me!!" I think he gave a little pout but quickly replaced by a smile, "just joking". Isn't this cute?
Later in the interview, Myolie said that she treated Shao Feng and Zhao Ke to a French cuisine dinner in Hong Kong. Shao Feng quickly said he was very stressful eating with Myolie because he was afraid of the paparrazzi. Myolie then elaborated that at that time, there were a lot of paparrazzi. "So if I were to have dinner with a handsome guy like Shao Feng, we would be in big trouble." Then Zhao Ke (the other girl) said, "Myolie demanded that I had to stand in between them." Myolie nodded and smiled. The interviewer then asked Shao Feng and Zhao Ke if Myolie brought them to great cuisines in HK. Shao Feng immediately complained and pouted, "She only brought us to dinner once." Myolie protested again, "we didn't have time!!" Zhao Ke then defended Myolie, "She actually invited us several times." Shao Feng then clarified, "Actually, we understand Myolie's situation. She had invited us a few times but we told her to forget about the dinner. If I were to go with her alone, she'd be in big trouble."
When Myolie was asked for her most compatible co-star, before Myolie could answer, Feng interrupted immediately, "Feng Shao Fung ar ..." causing Myolie to crack up. "haha ... of course I have to say Feng la", Myolie answered out of politeness (we all know who Myolie are thinking ... ). Feng then said, "okay okay ... besides me, you can tell us other co-stars". "Actually, I didn't really partner with a lot of male co-stars. But within TVB .. hmmmm .... Raymond Lam's pretty good (Myo smiled a bit when she talked about him) ... yup (nodding her head) ... " She then smiled even more, "and then ummmm ", covering her face may be she's trying to hide her smile, "Bosco Wong's pretty good too" and she smiled even more. hahaha ... you gotta watch the video ... she looked soo cute and shy when answering this question.
When Myolie explained that she is planning to hold a birthday party in China this year, she was quickly interrupted by Shao Feng (hahaha ... he seems to enjoy interrupting Myolie and making funny remarks to cheer Myolie), "Exactly when will you hold your b-day party? Remember to treat me dinner!" (errr .... I'm not too sure about this part ... either he told Myo to treat him dinner or he's treating her) Myolie laughed, "I believe it would be some time between October and November since my birthday is on Nov 6. It all depends on what my schedule is at the time, but definitely I will make the time to hold the party." Shao Feng then said, "Actually I find most of the time we would spend our birthdays during work. So it's typical for us to celebrate our birthdays among our co-workers. Like having a nice meal together" He then looked at Myolie and said, "so yeah ... we should eat together okay?"
When the interviewer asked them what was the most memorable birthday celebration they spent at work, Myolie talked about her experience when filming "Gateau Affairs". She said on the day of her birthday, she had to work. When ppl called out everyone to come to work, Myolie expressed that she already sensed there's something different from normal but didn't know what it was until she saw the chef (who's well known for his dessert) brought a HUGE HUGE mango mousse cake out. She claimed that this was the biggest cake she'd seen and that it weighted 15+ pounds. She continued saying that the cake was shared among the people from all four of the TVB production houses yet they still failed to finish the whole cake. At this very moment, Shao Feng said, "You should have called us!" Myolie smiled, "I didn't even know you back then." "Then next time remember to call us."

i used to dislike myolie a lot !!
but then ever since i saw her in HK in 2005, my impression of her began to change..

I have not watched any Cantonese drama for a long time since 2003 but I remembered this
girl, Myolie Wu.... Somehow for some reasons, I recognised her when I started to watch Wars of the In-Laws (WOIL) last week (I bumped into this article when I surfed asianfanatics.net news forum). Actually, I meant to watch Lisa Wang. Knew her since I was a teenager.
I came across Myolie Wu's thread and decided to read from page 1 thru' page 23. No kidding, it took a few hours to finish viewing... of course, I enjoyed several beautiful pictures of her.... and "Boscolie"too.
I am very intrigued with her personality...is like reading a life story of her....
A versatile actress with beauty, charms, sincerity, cuteness, charisma and diplomacy...
and many other virtues too...
She was willing to gain weight and change into a new look just for the drama/film.
Just as much as I like her... I wished that she does not lose focus on her personal life and investments, of course health is no exception. I was totally shocked when I bumped into the page where she completely transformed into another person for the drama TOG ie..so different from the usual "her". The Korean movie " 200 pounds beauty" by Kim Ah Jung did not have to gain real weight... she was wrapped with paddings all over her body and her face was also blown up (special make-up effect). My Name is Kim Sam Soon, another successful Korean drama, the actress was made to put on only 12 to 15 pounds.. Her face is still pretty except that she is more chubby in her arms and body.
Last night, I went to bed with a heavy heart and cannot imagine TVB demand that she put on the real 40 pounds.. how cruel!!........ I suddenly realized that acting is not easy for these actors/actresses as they have to play politics with people in power who can raise you to stardom or "freeze" you.
The best actress award could be viewed as a life achievement award and recognition, but it should not be done at the expense of her physical self and health. I truly believe that she has outshine herself in many versatile roles and have proven to the audience and the entertainment industry that she is now an experienced and professional artiste. Having the best actress award does not necessary gain more roles.... ( look at the Hollywood examples.....)
With regards to her personal life.. I noticed she mentioned on many interviews that she prefer the guys to be older than her... Well, I don't think that age should be an obstacles.. as long as the soulmate looked older than her, intellectual compatibility,financial independent, and behave maturely, and shows much affection, love her unconditionally and really cares for her. The age difference should not be viewed as a major hindrance if she truly loves the man who is just a couple of years younger than her. After all, woman nowadays can always made themselves look younger thru's many means. (hehehehe... you gals knows what I mean la...)
It's okay to work hard and make more money... but she has to enjoy the fruits of her hard work all these years too... I really like to see her happy and find a wonderful soulmate who would really love and care for her and her family (her family is an important part of her life...) She should just relax, and take it easy... not focusing too much on the best actress award...may be focus on hunting for soulmate... (hehehehhe)
She needs a good mentor who could guide her in her career..... (Someone that TVB respect, of course... aigoo..... people politics...)
BTW, I LOVE HER SMILES..... VERY CHARMING....... (Cantonese saying... that more you look at her... the more she exudes the beauty and charms). I am sure some of the "siu sangs" does like her.
Though, I believe in freedom of speech.. I do not think it is appropriate for anti-fans to visit this thread just to bash the celeb. One has to behave maturely and diplomacy is called for. I don't like some celebs too but I will not visit their thread to do that..but reserved the negative opinion to myself and have a wait and see atititude... Like Lisa Wang said in the finale episode as a mother-in-law...." have a open mind" hahahahha
I want to write more... but I got for a meeting...

THIS IS THE NEW MYOLIE !!! I think she is transforming... from the regular sweet, cute, sporty Myolie to a beautiful, bold, stylish, sexy, and mature MYOLIE!!!
Just my two cents on her transformation:
1) To impress some movie/drama producers of the NEW MYOLIE for some new roles
2) Transformation to prepare for the Sequel to WOIL; who knows... some wild guesses.

From some of her TV interviews/shows, I noticed that she has the ability to host a show or interview. Given some coaching from some good mentors, she can be a popular host as she is frank, sincere, kind and carry with her the right charisma.....

I love the picture of Myolie with wings. Very sexy yet her facial expression fits that of an angel. I like the 2nd page too where she's suppose to be a devil. Very cute and playful. She looks really good with long wavy hair.
