She has been criticized in this role and to have her win the award from this drama, the audiences won't be happy about it. I know Myolie isn't a lead in DOL but I still think its one of her best works. If the role she's nominated for is suppose to show her skills as an actress, then it shouldn't even matter if its a supporting role or a lead role. As long as its good then that should be all that matters. I mean soo many supporting actresses deserve to be nominated for Best Actress over people like Kate or Sharon. In all honestly, with the way TVB is doing things now, you don't need to be a good actress to have leading roles. The nominations should be based on actual talents and not just a list of leading roles. Now that you mention it, Myolie has only been in 2 series that aired this year right? Thats surprising considering WAD was a warehoused series, so that means Myolie realy only had one new series. Oh and another thing, WAD was a warehoused series meaning that this was filmed a while ago. Over that time, Myolie has greatly improved and a more current series like DOL is a better representation of her current skills instead of one that was filmed like 2 years ago.
I was watching DOL last night and was watching where Myolie decides to leave Raymond. When Myolie was in her wedding dress taking that picture with Raymond, the way she was trying soooo hard not to cry but couldn't help it, that really really impressed me. I cryed soo hard watching Myolie and felt soo bad for her. I could actually feel Myolie's pain. Thats what I call good acting. In fact, I think Myolie and Sheren are my two favorite characters in that series. I think Myolie is much better than Charmaine and that scene alone proved it. It was a sad scene but it is my favorite of Myolie so far.
Although I don't think Myolie will win any awards this year, I hope she wears something absolutely stunning that catches everyone's eye.
Off topic, us Leila fans don't really care about the TVB awards anymore. We're all hyped about her new album.
As long as someone worthy of the award wins then I'll be happy (meaning Toby better not win)

Winning the Best Actress for Astros is much better than Best Actress for TVB nowadays. I think that Myolie got criticized for her role in WAD because they saw a reverse in her improvement. I mean, her new series were broadcasted which shows the improved Myolie and then they see a Myolie from 2 years ago. That was probably why people thought Myolie was bad in it. I saw no problem with Myolie's performance. She wasn't perfect in every scene but she still shouldn't have gotten the backlash she did. People seem to forget that this series was a while ago and not indicative of Myolie's skills now.

I completely agree. TVB awards nowadays is completely useless and bias. Winning this award does not mean you act well; it's just a connection between you and TVB. And yes, Astro Award is better, at least the audiences vote. Well, come to think of it, I think winning any other award is better than winning the TVB award. I think actress/actor wants it because it showcase their importance to TVB.

Because it has Vincent Zhao (a very famous mainland actor) and also starring fadans Myolie Wu and Melissa Ng, not forget about the big siu sang Raymond Lam. I have read somewhere (I dunno where) about Tai Chi being released in January 2008 (next year) after WOIL sequel, as you already know guys WOIL sequel's release is on the last day of 2007 (31st of December). ^^

I watched the gala two days ago, and I'm not too fond of her makeup but she's so lively there. Especially when she was being chase by Eric with cream. lol.
