I watched the 30 minute trailer on youtube this afternoon and started searching for the first episode but couldn't find it!! Was so upset, but I just found it!!! I'm gonna watch it now=p

Really really like Xiao Zhu's acting since The Outsiders 2. Hope this is better =)

hiya to all!! first post in this thread!!
i first heard about this drama when this thread started but i have been avoiding it for ages and ages ... i have been saying to myself "you have exams and coursework to do you cant watch anymore series!!" but today i just couldnt resist and watched the first episode!!! i know lol bad me i love show in this never realised he looks so good..... and i got so desperate for more when i saw the prewview OMG i want MORE!!! so i watched teh 30 minute special but that didnt help.... i want even more now!! lol......

i think it is really good and funny, it completely lightened up my day!!! brabie pulls off the rich girl part so easily and show... him in the maids outfit hahahah one thing i dont get i why does she move into his house... what did her dad tell her.... she had the key too..... ? and because this is a idol drama i think it will be a massive hit!!! so show is a student??? and he wants to go back to taiwain??? if i'm not rong are there 3 people who will like barbie in the future not incluing show???

this show is different to other idol dramas because i dont think it took a while to kick in as i got sucked (literally) into the drama right from this first ep where as othe idol dramas tend to take time for the problem to develop.....

anywayz i'm off to read allt he pages now lollucky its only 13 and not more!

i personally didn't like Barbie in MARS or MG because she wasn't that pretty,
but im glad that she's very fashionable in this drama. ^^

Heck yeah it's worth it! This is nothing like MG2.
It's a romantic comedy w/ so many cute scenes!

cherry27-Yes, basically there will be 3 guys that likes Barbie, but actually 4 b/c she has an admirer later on (Harlem Yu guest stars). But of course, only QL is for XL!

*I've just read today's article that goes w/ the pics and it basically says...

Barbie and Angie Chai made a bet about the ratings for the first episode. Barbie bet that it would be around 2.9, whereas, Angie Chai said that it would be around 3.3 (I think how high it will peak at...). And evidently Angie won and she said that Barbie should go to the bank and withdraw money for her now! Barbie said that this is the first time in her life that she is happy about losing money. Show was overseas, but once he heard the good news about the ratings, he called and said that no one should celebrate yet until he comes back!

Nicette, thank u! I got to watch ep. 1 eventhough i don't understand chinese but anything with Barbie in it, i'll watch it. It's funny and i like their acting. I've never watched Show's acting before but he's good. Barbie of course is good too. I love the scene where the fiancee pulled Barbie out of her car in the traffic and they ran towards the jewelry store. That's the store where Vic visited Barbie during shooting and the reporters took pics of them. I laughed when Show ate the whole plate of food in seconds in the restaurant. So far Show with Barbie and Barbie with the fiancee has good chemistry. She's really a good actress since she can create sparks no matter who's paired up with her. For me that's a sign of a good actress.

after Barbie's family went bankrupt, her fiance had to leave her cuz of his parents disapproval, with nowhere else to go and with no one to help her, she had no choice but to go to taiwan (the beginning of the show is set in shanghai) and live in her father's old home...but coincidently, her father's old house also happens to be Show's home! his grandmother has lived there for the past 10 years, and because Barbie wasn't able to kick Show's family out of the house, she had no choice but to live with them...this will be in the next ep.
I don't think Show is studying, because he works at a restaurant making oyster omelets...when he went back to taiwan, he had to help his grandmother with her little oyster omelet restaurant, so I don't think he would have the time to study.
In the show, Barbie is loved by 3 guys, including Show and I think she also has an extra admirer...but we all know who she'll up with right?

I have a strong feeling that this will be another huge hit from Angie Cai jie!

It's not based on a manga at all. From an original storyline by professional writers.
They're going to release CWL book soon. I don't know when though...

I don't think it's based on a manga...and about the ratings, it started of with 2.55, then it kept on rising up to a great 3.35, then it dropped, but only by 0.15...so the final rating is 3.20; which is very high considering it's only the first ep.

hmm, it kinda sounds like your typical romance fairytale story where a rich beautiful girl falls in love with a poor boy and leaves her rich handsome prince charming. Isn't this your typical taiwanese drama? Nothing special about it. Don't get me wrong, I love Xiao Zhu, he's really hilarious and all that, but I am just tired of this typical romance "they lived happily ever after" stories. I don't reallu like Da S so much, had a bad impression of her from meteor garden. Anyways, it is rather funny and cute especially when Xiao Zhu dressed up as a french maid and runs all over the place and their bicker is cute and sweet. Haiz, just wish that there would be more creativity when there comes to writing story plots. Just everything you see these days, have similar plots with the exception of Hana-Kimi. I highly reccommend this series, it's so cute and loveable with lots of eye candies lor.

Well, alot of idol dramas these days revolve around typical love stories, but that shouldn't be a problem because even though they're really ordinary and cliched, many people still love watching these sort of love stories

I think this would be one of the most funniest dramas I've ever watched, heck, even the first ep alone was hilarious! Show is just too cute!

Honestly, some people keep on saying that the storyline is typical, etc...However, everything else is BUT typical. The only thing that is really cliched is the fact that a rich girl and a poor guy fall for each other. That's the main cliche.

Seriously though, what is considered 'typical'? I don't think it's your 'typical Taiwanese drama' at all, besides the fact that it's an idol drama. Every drama has its own uniqueness and attractions. A lot of dramas have a 'happily ever after' feeling to them...But it should make them no less watchable just basing on the surface. It's the contents that should matter.

Obviously everyone has different taste. However, I don't think it's fair to already classify CWL as 'typical' when it has only aired one episode. We should wait until later to judge.

Hope CWL does well, just like MG.. MG was great .. no wonder its still remembered by all... Barbie is a great beautiful actress.. although she is in the industry from a very long time.. she is still soo very popular and her popularity is still rising ,,.. i watched a bit of hana kimi too, but didnt like it much ..so just watched a little bit.. CWL rocks!!

i take back what i said about barbie. she's really good in this drama and I like her in it a lot.

juz finished watching epi 1 and omg itz so funny

I agree, though many dramas have similar concepts, especially when it comes to the love genre, but each one of them is different and unique in their own ways...though they may have a similar concept such as 'rich guy falling in love with a poor girl', it doesn't mean they're all the same just because of one typical concept. Every drama has their own ideas, that's what makes every drama different and unique.

This drama is currently "battling" Hana Kimi, so it's understandable that people have the urge to start comparing them

anyway, I'm re-watching ep 1 right now

I'm up to the part when Qin Lang and Xin Lei were arguing in the restaurant, then QL went up to his room and XL stormed out. It suddenly started to rain and QL ran out looking for her holding an umbrella (so sweet of him!), he found her and saw her on the ground, he ran over and offered to help her up. My fav part is when they looked at each other after QL handed her the umbrella, the way they both looked at each other! Even though it was only a moment, but I could still see the love in their eyes!
The whole scene was sweet and cute, and might not have been exactly "romantic" to some, but up till when they looked at each other, it added the feeling of romance right into the scene! my heart completely melted! the couple themselves hasn't realize that 'love' is starting to blossom for them, but u can see it very clearly in their eyes! this is definitely my fav scene in the entire ep!

What excellent chemistry Show and Barbie have! So beautiful and so natural! that whole scene in the rain seemed so REAL to me, it didn't seem like just acting at all! Even my mom agrees with me she's a big supporter of Vic & Barbie so she didn't like Show to begin with, but now after watching ep 1 with me, and seeing just how great their chemistry is (particularly during THAT scene), she loves Barbie&Show just as much as VB!

haha mabbe i am different... the scene that i like best in episode 1 was the part where XL's fiance (Shang Dong) proposed to her... i felt it was rather sweet of him to make the ring for the proposal... even though he does look quite young next to XL haha

i love this series alreadi, Barbie finalli gets to look pretti, and not some poor gurl (MG and MARS). ALSO, Show is just cool and HOT.........and very very funni. It depresses me how it is onlee one ep per week, i can't wait alreadi.

Same, when u have a drama that's this good, u think that 1 ep per week is just not enough! But on the other hand, having just 1 ep each week is still good, cuz it keeps all the hype and excitement alive for much longer!

About the number of eps, if it's confirmed there's gonna be 24 eps, then that's how long it's gonna be...maybe Xiao S got it wrong when she said 16 eps, this is not the first time she's made a mistake.
