Corner With Love seems okay so far. I wanted to watch it only because I saw lots of news about Alan Luo & barbie xu acting it. I never really liked Barbie's acting. the series is going okay so far for me only because of the plot. I don't think either of the lead actors' acting is too great. I don't really feel chemistry b/w Barbie and Alan Luo. I prefer Barbie to get with the rich guy even though he couldn't help her in her financial situation or anything. haha.

Ahh,
I want to watch this series as well but I don't want to keep waiting until the next episode comes out like how I'm doing with Hana Kimi.

I guess I'll just wait until all the episode are out so then I can watch at the same time.

finally watched it! yay been busy all day. i'm like barbie more and more now. and show's just awesome. hands down.
At the end I actually thought that when she was talking about attending the engagement that it was just her imagination or something and when she actually got there things would be different.

Actually, that's not quite true...there are not many idol dramas which are able to have ratings as high as over 4 let alone 5 or 6. PTF and ISWAK were just some of the very few which were able to draw ratings above 5. But they're NOT the only popular dramas in tw, many of the other popular ones had ratings of around 3-4; that is already very high. 'Devil beside you' is another very popular hit in tw, and it's ratings were never above 4.
So any dramas with ratings above 3 is already proven to be a hit...this drama has certainly proven it's popularity! Only the first 2 eps have been aired so far, and the ratings have stayed above 3!

Oh yea...I just remembered...
In this episode, there were several times that XL and QL could've gotten together.
I mean him comforting her, etc...But fate played them until later on in the episode.

*In a report, Barbie said that MG and Mars have the least kisses compared to CWL.

I figured there are plenty of kissing scenes in here, most of them are between Barbie and Show Show has said on Blackie's show that they have quite alot of kissing scenes together.

wow! at last i have watch episode 2...thanx!nicette..i watch this episode 2...many times today.. ...it is a very touching drama...at first same ...very funny ...but eventtually become sad...i like the part when she return the ring to his fiancee...this part made me cry...anyway thanx!nicette..for part 2...i like all the parts in the drama ...1:when they both got drank....2:riding in a bike while QL try to sing to let XL be happy..3:when barbi play the song in the piano...which QL sangwhile XL is riding in QL bicycle...4:the party for the announcement of engagement of SD....but the part the i like most which makes me cry is when XL...return the ring to his fiancee....XL...trying to be strong...i really love this drama..and barbi and show...they are really very good..it is really worth watching...also Fashionistah...thanx for the detailed explanation of the story...i really appreciate it. ...anyway...is it true that this CWL...has more kissing scene compare to MG and Mars....wow!we should watch it!...bad me

For some strange reason i thought the theme song was sang by Barbie but nope!

MOL, PTF and Smile Pasta are all SET dramas, most of the dramas produced by SET are able to get ratings above 5 and 6, mainly because of the casts; SET always recruit actors from Jungiery; 183 Club, 7 flowers, 5566 etc...any drama with 183 Club seems to get ratings of 4-6 with ease. But it's quite a different story for all the other dramas aired on other networks; it's quite difficult for them to even get ratings of above 4, there are some which were able to score ratings of above 4 and 5, but not many of them...ISWAK was such a huge it, and yet it's highest rating ever was just slightly above 5, while most of it's other ratings were around 3-4. Vic's drama 'Silence' was also a hit, and again it's highest ratings ever was just slightly above 4...it just seems like the highest ratings other network dramas can get are between 4-5, and sometimes just slightly higher...while SET dramas can draw ratings of above 6 with ease. So there's not much different with the popularity basing on the ratings...any drama with ratings of above 3 is already considered a hit in tw, and so far, CWL is one of those hits!

Other then Rating Expectations and Cast [Mostly Jungiery Stars], there isn't really much difference between SETTV Productions and other productions

SET is a network/channel, their dramas are the same as every other idol drama...I think mainly it has to do with the casts; I think artists from the Jungiery company attract alot of attention, particularly 183 Club...I personally don't like SET's dramas, some fans just watch them because they want to support their idols.
I love CTV dramas mostly! they have ISWAK, DBY, CWL Silence, Bump of Lover 17, etc...many of the other popular hits in tw (apart from the SET ones) are CTV dramas

yeah honestly dont lke SET dramas. I find the all the same with all the actors. I dont know i lke CWL and GTV dramas much moreee!! lke ISWAK and nowa corner with love and hana kimi is really good too. SET dramas jusdt dont attact me very much cause it seems to me that all the sstory lines are the same and im not a big fan of jungiery group so yeah.

And I shall say I love this series sooo soo much...
Da S is just so elegant and spoilt brat in the 1st epi..
While Xiao Zu.. is just soo catering to all Da S' demand... including become the maid in the party..
Well, I hope this series continues to be like this state... and not to be flop towards the end....

i really do hope it doesn't flop in the end cuz it has 25 episodes...some drama series tend to flop around that many episode

I just finished ep 2! It's so good! Better than the first ep! ep 1 was mainly just introducing the characters and what their connections are, the real drama starts from ep 2, though it wasn't as funny as ep 1, but it was much more exciting!
Both Show and Barbie were excellent in this ep! Gosh! Barbie's acting was so real, especially after she found out that her family went bankrupt and her parents had ran away! every time she cried, I cried with her! and Show was great too!

some of my fav scenes:

- the very first scene where they were at the restaurant and QL ate the oyster omelet so fast, he turned around and some of it was still hanging out of his mouth while XL, her mom and SD's mom just looked at him dumbfounded! That part was so funny I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes!
- When QL bumped into XL, noticing that she's upset and so sad, QL offered to take her on a ride on his bike and he sang her that song.
- When XL returned the engagement ring to SD
- As a gift for all his help, XL played QL that piano score of the song he previously sang to her when they were riding around on his bike.
- XL attended SD's wedding with a friend as her partner while QL acted as her driver again. XL purposely stood in the front, and when SD turned around, he saw XL...that whole tense moment was really nice, I especially love the part when XL quickly left the scene with her partner and SD ran out after her.
- The very last part of the ep after she ran out of the scene where XL quickly told QL to open the car door and she got on, then QL turned around and saw SD running out, he quickly got into the car and XL told him to drive.

I also really like the bond between XL and her personal maid 'Xi Xian'...initially I thought they were just ur ordinary rich girl and her maid connection; no bond at all just the maid doing whatever she is being told to do by her mistress. but I was surprised to learn that their connection was much deeper than that; both actually go a long way back, XX is not only XL's personal maid, but she's also her close friend, and they both really care about each other. I was very touched when XX told XL (after her family went bankrupt) that she can live at her place for as long as she likes, and even though XX is not really XL's maid anymore, XX still calls her "mistress" and still tends to her like she's still her maid I really like the bond between these 2 gurls...it's sad for me to know that XX will be gone soon, cuz she won't appear anymore after XL goes to tw

ep 3 seems very promising, especially with QL and XL meeting again in tw and XL moving into his home! That means there'll be more cute scenes with them coming up!
This is getting better and better!

I love the scene when Bie and Show had a drinking session and Show got drunk more than Bie. And they were walking home with the bike and Show fell on the street. He shouted something to Bie and Bie shouted back at him. I don't know what they said to each other though but i guess it must be something funny. Also when they reached the restaurant/ home of Show, he's still saying something to Bie in a shouting voice. Can somebody tell me what they said to each other?
I also like the scene between Bie and the fiancee when they were sitting outside and Bie was leaning on his shoulder. I found it so sweet and natural. What did they say to each other?

[spoiler] on their way home, xin lei was talking about how happy her life is right now with parents who love her and shang dong also, so she said she's the happiest person on earth. ql, on the floor then shouted, stop saying it or else i'll be envious! then xin lei shouted i'll definitely be happy! ql then said you definitely have to be happy! and they shouted it back at each other. so cute scene love this!!!!

when xin lei and her fiance were outside, shang dong was saying his parents were more eager than him to marry her. and xin lei then asked, if ur parents don't like me, you won't marry me then? and shang dong said, i'll still marry you. i'll definitely still marry you.

I just finished Ep 2 and I just cried, cried, and cried for her. How can everything just come crashing down to her like that. I feel so sorry for Barbie. I can't wait till Ep 3. This drama is amazing!

wasn't it Xiao S (Barbie's sister) who said there's gonna be 16 eps on KangXi?

I initially wanted more eps and thought that 24 eps will be better...but now come to think of it, it may worry some people to think that it might get draggy...so I don't mind now, at least 16 eps is fine with me as long as the story feels "complete", because some dramas have endings which leave people feeling that the story is somewhat incomplete; like there's still some issues un-resolved.
If there's really only gonna be 16 eps for CWL, then I hope it'll have a great ending; one that'll actually conclude the story.

I'm thinking that it actually might be 16 episodes. They probably cut it down from 24 (initially reported) to fit the 1&1/2 hr airing per episode better.

After watched 2 episodes of CWL, i'm still yet convinced that it will be a hit drama. Basically, the storyline is okay, the chemistry of the casts is okay, just average and ordinary but not impressive. Its too early to judge, therefore i will only give my opinion base on the two episodes. There are some familiar scenes such as the proposal that reminds me of the movie "sweet home alabama" and the singing of a children song in the drama "full house" appear in the drama.....

just wanted to add something, that is barbie said that compared to mars and mg, cwl has the LEAST kissing scenes hehe! ^^

i dunno bout the rest but actually Bump Off Lover and CWL are both GTV dramas. just that they probably sold the rights to air to CTV too. Bump Off Lover was in fact shown both on CTV and GTV.

IMHO, CWL is expected to be a big hit.
I believe in the cast and their performance.
Also, the storyline is a nice and promising one.
But of course, it's still too soon to tell for sure.

Not only has it been received well in TW, fans in other countries are already anticipating it.

Korean fans are already subbing CWL w/ Korean subtitles.

the piano player is really a pretty boy isnt he>???? is he japanese because he looks like he is from a manga his face is just so innocent and good looking!!! i have officially fallen in love with show now !!!! it was so sad when he went to find XL as soon as he knew her family went bankrupt but SD beat him to it!! and where XL was crying i thought QL went to comfort her but it turned out to be a little girl the director really got me there.... is the director angie cai or diector lin because in the previous pages it said it was directed by the director of DBY but in fan fans show where there are lots of teenage boys angie cai was there???

about te record not hitting 5 or 6 i think it is just a matter of time because you need to wait for a few more episodes for people to hear about how good this drama is through word of mouth and by then more people will watch it ! is CWL competing with hana kimi for audiences?? personally i think youger people will watch hana kim and maybe watch this on the net but CWl has a wider audience range becuase i think it is right for young people, the elders(i dont mean it in a rude way) and families....... so the ratings will go up and up and up ^^^^^

now i just have to make do with atching ep 1 and 2 over and over again... it is good thouh because it helps me understand it more and maybe pick up on things that i missed..... cant wait for ep 3 !!!! 6 days !!
