I first watched him in ATV series, who is the winner III. At that time, he played the stupid guy who madly fell in love with Christine Ng and died pointlessly!!! Anyway, his acting is good though but I don't like his character in WTWIII at all.

He was the leading actor in ten tigers from Guangdong, ATV series as well. I don't think TVB promoted him enough. He's talented and versatile actor but well, TVB prefers to promote actors/actresses originate from its company.

Stephen don´t want to tell anyone how old he is but in 2001 he said he was more then 32 so i can guess he is around 36-37. MY FAVORITE ACTOR!!!! Stephen is absolte my fav actor and i really love him, most in BF II, he was so hot and sexy there, and in AOM he was so cool!!! Haven´t seen him in a serie a long time now, but he is a programmeleader in "hongkong this minute". I just look at it when it´s him. I reallly really love him and think TVB shuold give him a leaderole! He is the besT!!!! Dont´now why ii´s not any pic of him here...But here is comes a lot of pic!

nah i dont think TVB pays their actors more cash...acccording to wat i have heard..ATV pays more..maybe he has enough money already and just wants to work with different people..im gueessing hes about 37

Stephen's a good actor. Yea he seems to be getting more bad guy roles than good ones. I think he portrays a good guy well too if given more opportunities.

stephen au is one of the most talented and charismatic actors in TVB. it is sad that he always has to play 2nd fiddle to the mian male leads in dramas. an actor of stephen's calibre should be up in the high positons with moses chan and bowie lam. why is stephen not popular? is it becos he is not that great looking? or is it cos lady luck hasn't shone on him yet??

stephen is handsome, but his acting skills outshine his looks by miles! anyone can tell that stephen is a fantastic actor! but why doesn't TVB realise this? if guys like joe ma (i like him too), can break out as the male lead in serials, stephen deserves a roleas a male lead too.

his lack of popularity aside, i must say he looks EXTREMELY cute with charmiane sheh. i just love them together! Fa and Wallace (angels of mission) are still my ulitmate fav TVB couple! but usually, stephen loses charmaine to the mian male lead. for eg, to patrick tam in 'angels of mission' and to joe ma in 'strike at heart'.

i'm eagerly awaiting for a TVB serial that will hopefully cast stephen as the male lead and charmaine sheh as his pair! go stephen! love you to bits! stephen and charmaine forever!

Sadly to say, I think his only male lead ever was in ATV as the lawyer, I remember I actually liked his role and thought he looked very professional. That was my first time seeing him back then. I then saw him again in Flaming Brothers but didn't realize he was the lawyer in there until later since the gap between the series is alot and tapes are usually hidden somewhere by my mom so yea. Unfortunately after that he was mostly in supporting role in ATV and is stereotyped in both ATV and TVB as the usual cho lo and not well-educated guy. I remember that ATV series had Damian Lau too if I remmeber correctly who was murdered and acted as Stephen Au's sifu. His character was really interesting, smart and outgoing. He had glasses in there too. It was such a great role and opportunity for him. His role wasn't boring at all and gave an outgoing and happy personality. I wonder if i still have those tapes at home. I remember back then ATV would like have series where their actor or actress would lead but then in other series they might still play supporting roles. It's so weird. I guess that was during the time that it went down hill and didn't have much series so others had to settle for smaller roles. He's like one of the few lucky ones because ATV haven't been giving lead roles to other people besides teh yut goh and yut gai for a long time now. Others would be lucky if they get second lead roles which are 9 times out of 10 the bad guy anyway and have to settle for supporting roles. ATV use to be very good with more series out. They even had that award thing before TVB. Unfortunately don't know when but they just stopped cause they didn't make enough series for an award show to work. They also use to have more people and actors and actresses. But many jumped over to TVB like Stephen Au and Gilbert. And since Stephen and another of Annie Man's friends left ATV she too left because she thought there was no point for her to stay if her friends weren't there.

Stephen Au or Gilbert Lam was actually one of the people considered to host the who wants to be a millionaire show but because both left for TVB, it was given to Kenneth instead. Some how I think Stephen looked so much handsomer back then when he was in that lawyer series, much fitter and good looking. If he gets fitter and fix his looks especially that mole on his eyebrow which alot of guys seem to have, I'm sure TVB would consider promoting him. It's all about the looks nowadays unfortunately. Too bad he doesn't film that much for TVB just once in a while probably needs to spend more time with his family since he's married with a kid?

I was so surprised when I found out he was artististic. I forgot where I read the article but it was so interesting about how he went to this play. Forgot what it was about but just the article gave a more formal side of him and that he isn't that cho lo in real life even though he knows martial arts. It be nice if he can get those formal professional roles again and not be stereotyped.

Stephen Au is a good actor! Just that he doesnt get the lead roles (I wonder why...) He can really act really well, like, he can change his personality from show to show, though he normally acts the bad guy. He looks cool(:

Knowing TVB, it will take forever since they love to promote everyone else and their cousins before promoting the ones that "totally deserves it". I do wish that he gets leading roles in the future though and I totally agree that Ah Fah and Wallace Lee were like a perfect match. But oh well.



Actually, isn't he lead in Ten Tigers Of Guangdong too? I mean okay, he shared it w/ 9 other people but still, in the beginning they started out with his story first and then most of the the stuffs happened revolved around his story and going from there.

Stephen was also in ATV's "I come from Guangzhou". He wasn't the main lead, but was one of the main characters in the series too. I think he knows martial arts in real life too. In the many ATV series that I've seen, his character is a fighter. I don't watch the TVB series that he's in, because I think it's boring. I prefer him in his ATV acting days...

Ooh Stephen Au he's such a good and convincing actor. Like most my favorite role of him is Wallace Lee in Angels of Mission, so charmingly cool and sweet. If given the cool and intelligent image, he can really look good. He's not that bad looking to start with anyway. His character Lau Wah in Ups and Downs in the Sea of Love was also very funny but scheming- despite providing that villianous factor he's part of what makes the series so good. He such a versatile actor he can do comedy, cool, evil, good, etc. His character "Ah Chung/Bug" in Witness to a Prosecution II was also very funny when he was that slack off but scary when he turned 'evil'. It was one of my favorite Stephen roles too. TVB should treat and promote him fairly before he leaves because he's just simply a good but underappreciated/underrated actor. Yea I think he's doing hosting jobs and variety shows for TVB right now. He hosted Miss Chinese International forgot which year though. His english is pretty good right? Some of the pictures you posted are really nice shows the goodlooking side of Stephen! If only TVB would promote him more...Maybe he needs to slim down, I've noticed that many bulky looking supporting actors never seem to get lead roles it's so weird. Like Michael Tong etc.

Stephen was diagnosed as having depression

Stephen Au accepted an interviewed with "The Media Evangelism Limited" for the monthly journal "Angel Heart" recently and disclosed how he was "reborn" again. He commented that his life hasn't been easy due to the fact that he finds it difficult to compromise. While he was working, he felt very isolated and lonely. It affected his relationship with his wife and as a result he was diagnosed as having depression.

Stephen revealed once that he burst into tears when he was drinking a cup of coffee. He also started crying while driving and when he looked in the mirror, he hated himself too. On top of that, he had some problem with a court case and his family was in a turmoil. Stephen was feeling exhausted and confessed "I felt trapped. I felt there was something on my chest and it was hard". Throughout this difficult time, his wife has been by his side supporting him. She encouraged him to go to church to seek help. Stephen learned to pray to seek help. To his amazement, his depression got better without taking any medication. He found his strength from God and he also found love. He became a Christian and the day when he was baptist, his mother gave him a "Red Packet". He was very touched by this gesture.

Stephen Au promised "Evil Kin" Shek Kin who passed away that he would release his biography. But it has yet to be completed. I was considering to interview him for the third time but he was already in hospital. I feel very sad about him passing away. I promised him I would help him release a biography but because I have beee busy it's been dragged. No matter what I will complete it. I want the whole world to know about this amazing martial arts star." Stephen also stated that he became one of Shek Kin's fans when he watched Bruce Lee's movie "Enter the Dragon".
