Just wanna know what is your opinion to those only who have no/little experience/knowledge/contact with asian culture. this poll is for those who are born and raised at a very young age in western society.

alot(not all) of my asian friends that are born in a western society do not find asian particularly that attractive(facially). They have told me that here is huge physial difference in the level of attractiveness btw an asian and a non-asian. Alot of them have said asian particularly look weak and not facially as attractive.

According to statistic asians that is born/raised in a western society are most likely to date/marry people outside their own race. So what i want to know is what is your view on asian attractiveness.

I was born and raised in a Western society though my parents have still taught me alot about traditional Asian practices and I hear alot of opinions coming from family and friends that immigrated here from Asian countries.

Not only do I find Asian people attractive but I find that I readily identify with them more than people that are not of Asian background despite growing up in a non Asian country. Ultimately though, appearances are only what you get on the surface and things like personality and whether that connection between the two of you exists.

The statistics you mention are probably accurate to a certain degree but you'll find that the more likely explanation is that Asian people that were raised in Western societies are more exposed to people outside their own and thus are more likely to marry them.

well back when i was little, 13-15 years old, i didn't find anyone attractive that was asian

i find asians attractive lol. there arent any caucasian guys out there that are that attractive lol, i still prefer asian guys.

im chinese and i would prefer to date and marry another chinese guy

Born in England, lived in California for most of my life. When I was young I didn't really like asian girls, but for some reason i started, now I kind of prefer them over everybody else. A lot of my friends are asian (usually chinese) too, the kind of like a commonality.

I think fobs are great. In terms if style/accent, sometimes appearence, it's different, but whether it's good or bad depends on the person.

Maybe it varies depending on where you live. If you live in a densely populated area there is a larger probablity that you will see more attractive asian people vs someone who lives in an area where they are mostly surrounded by other races. Less asian people equals decrease probablity of someone being attractive. But it could also be in someone's perferences too. People have different ideas of what is beautiful.

I was not born in a western society but I was raised in the US, where there are so many different backgrounds. I find asian people attractive but there is not as many of them as other race hence my theroy on probablity.

honestly, well for me when I was 11-16... I thought Asians were very unattractive (u know so fobbish, broken English, etc.) I guess I was very white-washed. I was attracted to white guys only but as I mature and grow up, I realized I was wrong. I started learning about Chinese history/culture... Yeah, now I found Asian guys attactive and beautiful.

This is very true indeed, it depends on how much contact you come with other Asians. I was born in the US , but living in a densly asian populated area, so mainly all my friends are Asian, few non-asians. Schools i have been to have a lot of asians so finding asians attractive is not a hard thing. Well i would mainly prefer an asian to any other race for one reason would be parents, since i am first generation here in the states, i dont thing my parents would be approving of anyone other than asians.


Statistically speaking i believe that japanese american women have the highest rate of marriage to non-asians, from what i learned in class.

in finding someone attractive, the race doesnt matter, some fobs look good some are ugly... its not like all fobs are ugly or all of them are attractive

Born and raised in England i can say that at a young age i didn't find Oriental girls attractive at all.
Even being taught about Chinese traditions and going to Chinese school weekly i wouldn't say i found any of my FEMALE classmates 'HOT'.

Despite what my parents and family members say about other races (i think you guys know what i mean)
I was definitely more attracted to the White honeys in my highschool.

Then as hope was fading away from me, one summer my parents took me to Hong Kong and boy was i bloody surprised! I loved the place, i loved the atmosphere of being surrounded by Asians, i loved the youths, but most of all i loved the HOT oriental blood.
So after coming back, my eyes were open and i started taking more notice of oriental girls.
Shame the same can't be said for mainland china girls, when i visited a few place in mainland China the hot potential was almost none :-(... But considering China is such a massive patch of land i wouldn't be surprised to find a city swarming with hot young blood.
But YAY! to Hong Kong girls definitely becoming more on par with western born girls ;-)

But i can see a pattern here (with the boys anyway) were from a young age we prefer White gals and then as later oriental gals...
I reckon its...
1. Partly because of puberty.
2. Because oriental girls seem to develop more slowly than a westrn girls ;-).

i find asian guys really cute, (well some anyway ). wen i went to high skewl, there were alot of asian guys and i was only attracted to asian guys since then (which was last yr ). but i dunt like those really fobbish asian guys, dunno y.

iwas born and raising in canada but i find asian ppl more attractive. in my opinion white people [the girls at least] look a lot older than then actually are for some reason.
i think that asian or mostly hong kong clothing style is a lot better than the style in canada.
when i am older i will want to marry an asian and i cant wait to move back to hk.

I reckon its fantastic that i was raised in a western country! I have so many options opened up for me, i have an education whereas many of my cousins back in VN are being married off as soon as they reach 'the age'...poor girls.

Being raised in australia has been a great thing, i have plenty of choices in hotties, whether they are asian, white, black wateva..its doesnt phase me...as long as he is a good person and treats me right, then thats all that matters.

But i personally would like to marry an azn guy...we'd have more in common i guess, culture and food wise! haha

Born and raised in a western country, it gives you a different perspective on things, culture, food, hobbies...It's not the asian/non-asian aspect i care for, yes I lean towards finding someone chinese, but he must also be compatible with my views in life, culture....Basically, i am looking for someone with similar background, meaning that he is also born and raised in a western society.

I am born and raised in the UK and i find asian girls attractive and would prefer them to the gwai muis here.......But the guai muis really are HOT compared to asian girls but when they grow older they seem to age faster than us asian guys so i think it's better to be with asian girls....

hi ya, i was born in aust. adelaide. i am the same, when i was younger most of my friends(0-14yrs) at school were westerners. besides family friends i didn't know many azns. but since i changed school and started seeing more azns, my perspective totally changed. i think azns are more attractive, because too many westerners are fat. nowadays most of my friends are chinese, i just find more things in common and can talk more about cultural aspeects without looking like an outcast. right now i'm at uni and i meet more azns some who are international students.

i used to think white girls were attractive but now i find it hard to see them that way. i find they have better personalities and looks. when i first saw them i thought it was normal cos i lived in asia until i was 8.

I was raised in a western society and I grew up in a town that was dominated by caucasians. Besides my family, I had almost no contact with asian people. I can't deny the fact that I grew up crushing and falling for only white guys. It wasn't until I was 16 did my interest for asian guys start. When I was 16, I traveled to asia and that's when my horizen broadened. After moving away from my pathetic town to a university in a biger city, and exposing myself to a diverse culture, I've found that I like all types of guys. So I guess before I was limited by choice.

I was born and raised in the US but I find Asians attractive. I'm more so attracted to Asians than white people cause I can relate to Asians more (more of the same cultural background).

Born & raised in California, I crushed on -boys-. It really wasn't much of a race thing for me. However, I do remember my first crush, who was in fact, Asian.

Also, because I have recently immersed myself into Asian Entertainment, Asian guys appeal to me much more than other races. Granted, there are a few of other guys of different races who are attractive.

Now, for Asian girls - they just have their own style, from what I see with my friends. They're all unique.

"Fobs" - i've only actually known one.. and she's a pretty girl, of course.

I suppose the whole "level of attractiveness" also stems from what the society perceives as attractiveness. I don't really know about the other countries with predominant Asian population, but in my hometown (which is fairly diverse), it's a free-for-all as to one can look this and that, but someone will be attracted to him or her.

I'm not sure how much this applies to me..i'm indian..but uh thats still asian so here goes

uh..i guess? lol...not as often as caucasians though.

Indian fobs. I found them slightly embarressing. They make people think all indians are like that...And the fashion is utterly horrendous...haha men wearing tight tops and pants up their waists ><
Other Asian Fobs: i found they were cute. akward when it came to communicating but we got around that and i find they can have cute accents...and yeah pretty interesting people

I have never been attracted to indians...and i do think it has something to do with the media and what 'attractive' is represented as in society. Because i find caucasians attractive and yet, once i started watching japanese dramas and listening to music etc i now can find asians quite attractive when otherwise, i would never have thought them attractive before..

we always work at Chinese Take Away and when u're the only one around, it's GOOD MONEY lol! and we were poor so this was extremely important for us, so don't judge! >.<

i think i thought they were really cool and wanted to be their friend! xD lol!

In terms of idolising someone, it's more Asian then others for me
but as in "liking" someone to go out with them etc.

Born and raised in Michigan...however, I've pretty much had an Asian influence in all aspects of my life, so I'm not even close to being a "twinkie" or whatnot.

I thought they looked like oddly dressed little kids who try too hard to look different. I really didn't even know they had a label, I just knew they looked different. But, I soon began to admire their style. Especially the hair! And I'm a huge fan of fob fashion now.

I wish there was a bigger Asian population where I lived. Growing up, I spoke Cantonese and English interchangeably, but I never thought about it twice. I really didn't think myself different from the white kids until...mmm, probably about middle school. I was never "ashamed" of being Asian though, even when I began to notice major differences (mainly in parents and family...).

To make it clear, the question is very general. Some asians can be really attractive and beautiful (just like people from other cultures), while other asians can be very plain or extremely unattractive at all (just like other people from other cultures).

I was born in Canada, and have been attracted mostly to asians all my life (mostly chinese). However, after changing schools (going from a school with not that many asians to a school with a whole floor called "chinatown"), I sorted things out better. Let me explain. I realized that the Asians i find myself most compatible with are actually those who are "washed out"/not fob. I somewhat had trouble being close friends with the immigrants compared to how close i was with the CBCs i knew in highschool. 90% of the guys I've deeply fallen for in my life were actually Canadian born Chinese. My boyfriend is Canadian born Taiwanese, but very washed out too.

I can usually be good friends with fobs, but I sometimes do have trouble getting along with their thoughts of "culture superiority" (aka "how asians are superior"). Fob fashion can be great. I would go for it because I hate having same clothes as people around me. Then again, some things just really don't work out for me. Most things in my life are actually related to Asia (music, clothing, tv - i only watch the chinese channel).

Honestly, I have just recently set my eye out for "white eye candy" because I couldn't stand the over-fobbiness at school. Really, anyone can be beautiful.

I live in Australia and there is hardly any black people. Its either White Australian or Asian Australian. I find good looking people attractive, i do not find race attractive.

i'm half asian and grew up in britain but i always found asians more attractive, and more so as i get older

I was born in Toronto and raised in Vancouver. Up until now I've only been out of North America twice (I'm actually in Xian right now ) and both times have been within the last two years. I grew up with Caucasians and until grade 8 (high school) I didn't really think I was any different from them. My parents speak Chinese to me and I usually reply in English but I have to speak Mandarin to my grandparents. I can completely understand Cantonese and Mandarin but my spoken isn't very good. Ever since the first time I went to Asia (Beijing, Shenzhen, Hong Kong) and came back, in grade 11, I started noticing Asians at school. Before then I never really paid attention to them, to be honest... All of a sudden it seemed that the Asian girls at school suddenly got a hell of a lot better looking and cuter. I wanted to talk to them now. But the problem with this is that I had pretty much neglected Asians and didn't talk to them at all since grade 8 till grade 12. Plus, I think fobs don't really like white washed Asians.

I do as of my first trip to China. I also find Asians more attractive than Caucasians as a whole. I find Caucasians as really hot though if you know what I mean. Asians are a lot cuter.

There aren't very many in my neck of the woods but I was recently in Taipei and almost all of the girls there are good looking. After, we went to Hong Kong where a lot of the girls there were good looking as well. Now we're in China....sigh.

I thought their looks were...well, fobby. Sometimes the hair and weird bags they use annoy me but I don't mind fobs anymore. Some fob girls can be ridiculously cute. I think the main problem, with me at least, with fobs is that they're really shy and it's pretty hard to communicate. Upon going to Taiwan I can see where a lot of the girls and guys get their styles from as it is all over the place over there.

In my opinion, Chinese born in North America are the most attractive Asians and I'll likely marry someone from that group. For some reason, I don't feel the same way about half-Asians as I do about ABC/CBCs.

Now a question from a CBC to ...fobs I guess, what do you guys think of ABC/CBCs? I used to get A LOT of weird looks and glances from Asians at school and I get them even worse here in Asia. Do fobs like CBCs?

At first, when I saw other Asians, I did not find them attractive b/c of the bad media attention they had gotten. Now that I've been around and seen more asians, I find them very beautiful, actually I think some of the most beautiful people in the world are asian . . .
This is what I see . .

Western men will like more Asian women, but western women tend not to like Asian men.

I feel bad for the Asian men in that aspect . . .
I think Asians generally look not as strong as western ppl, because Asians are more often times thinner . . . but you have to learn to look past that.
