im rewatching it and i thought NNadia Chan's acting was pretty good in that was her first series. Her emotional scenes were pretty convincing too. I like this series but the sad parts made me cry hehe. What are ur opinions on it and what do u think of NNadia's acting in it? just curious ^^

Nnadia definitely did a really good job in the series, considering it was her first. She portrayed the role very well. Even though she was young when this series was filmed, she was good with the mature/sad character. I really felt sorry for her character for the things she had gone through when watching some of the scenes. Her singing is also excellent. I really love listening to her "Song Bird" song as well as the other ones.

I love her!!! She is my favorite actress of all time. I cry everytime when i rewatch this series.

Nnadia Chan has the best onscreen crying out of all actresses.

This is Nnadia's very first series and also one of her "classic". Considering it was only her first role, she did an excellent job...both with the acting and singing in the series. I liked this series but Nnadia's role was such a tragic especially towards the end : and yes, Nnadia is one actress who is really good with crying scenes.

Yeah, Leon Lai and Nnadia Chan were in the serie right?! I can't really remember the storyline anymore. But I don't think it was a bad serie at all. Leon looks very handsome in there, I remember that, hehe........... And Nnadia did a very good job too!

I don't remember much, but I did enjoy it cuz of nnadia and leon. Nnadia's singing is sooo good. She sings in that other early series with Ekin in it.

I love Song Bird. Growing up, it was one of my favorite series. I watched it over and over again.

I love almost all the songs in it. The series was really sad. Nadia did a pretty good job, especially since it was her first series. She looked very pretty in it. And I love Leon. I think he did a good also, and he looked really handsome back then. My only disappointment was that on the soundtrack, they replaced his duets with Nadia. I think it was a contract issue with the recording companies. So Deric Wan replaced him on the soundtrack. I'm not saying that Deric is a bad singer, because he isn't, but I just prefer Leon's version of the duets more.

I remember this series. I always remember the theme song and a great theme song it was as well. I think i have Nnadia's albums on cassette tape somewhere around the house.

Song Bird was a really sad sad series. I felt sympathic for Nadia's character because she was so poor. She had a miscarriage with Leon's character, lost her money to Eddie Kwan's character and his love to her was fake. She became mentally sick person at the end.

i also grew up seeing this series...its such a wonderfully made series. the life story about Zhou Xun is so sad. i mean from average ppl point of view, we think that actors/actresses...singers...performers...etc. have glamorous life because they are famouse...have money, can travel around the world...but from this life biography of Zhou Xun you get a total different perspective that being famous isn't as it seems. Zhou Xun had such a difficult life even though she was so famous, yet all she wanted was a peaceful life with her family and love ones but she couldn't have that...sad. Nadia did a really wonderful job in portraying Zhou Xun...her acting was very convincing to me and her singing was great too. her emotions were so upfront and fluid...it seemed like Nadia was Zhou Xun. Leon was also wonderful in there his acting was very convincing...its too bad Zi Hua and Zhou Xun didn't get together that was sad. i think Song Bird is one of the classics of Hong Kong drama.

Nadia was great in the series. Leon was so cute. The ending and her life in the series was pretty sad. Love the songs they sung in it.

I loved this series when I was young. The story, mind you, it was mostly true, was very tragic. I remember buying the cassettes for the series' songs and playing it endlessly.

It was one of the first series a actually can remember that I've seen when I was younger. A few years ago I got the VCD of this series as gift from my aunt:)

I just watched the beginning to middle part only. Because I think the ending is too sad. I think her life is a tragedy.

i thought this would be a happy series, i am so sad after watching the ending....knowing the way the character's life ended up

about nnadia, she is one of my favorite actress so i really enjoyed her acting, didn't know this was her 1st series. i also really liked her singing especially the song that she sang on the 1st eposide in the beginning.

this is a classic serie..the plot and actors were superd..although it's sad but really enjoy watching

the one with nadia and Leon Lai? yea a classic! really good but really sad to watch! they didnt end up together and Nadia got ill. i felt so sorry for her character. the storyline is really good tho and very good songs!

this brings back memories! this was actually a true story and one of the good ones. Nnadia did a really good job, it was what made me like her as an actor, leon and Nnadia did make a good couple in there. But it was a sad one.

this series was great, but it got a really sad ending. nniadia really did a great job, especially this first series. she was only 16 when she make series. this series was base on a true life story of a famous actress. It was a memorable series for me. Leon & Nnadia made a great couple.

i was really happy to see her on screen in the series with kevin!

nadia has always done well in the movie production. so far i've only heard her sing in some of the tvb movies shes done and i think her vocals suits the songs nicely. she also has that elegant face that keeps u from hating her role but i have to admit that in the "song bird" with leon lai, her role definitely annoyed me lol... but it takes a good actress to play it out for the viewers to see that. very successful i must say

this series was old school, but it was good,
i remembered it because my grandma wanted me to play it for her all the time,
she had alzheimer's and this was one of the few things she remembered

I watched this like years ago...;.I really enjoyed it and lovedf Nnadia. I wished she would act more for TVB. There is alot of news on her recently: her young boyfriend and pregnancy becuase of her plump figure.

Yeah, this is an old drama. I also agreed that it was so sad that I just couldn't bear to re-watch it. The cast of Leon & Nadia was great. Too bad both of them didn't do another series together.

and not by Leon Lai....

Yep, the songs on the cd was sung by Deric Wan instead of Leon. I preferred Leon's versions over Deric's, even though Deric isn't a bad singer at all. I think it was recording company issues, and that's why they had Deric's versions in the album as opposed to Leon's.

i cant say that i watched it when it came out due to not being born yet but i do have to say it was good

that the series with leon and nadia. The song in the series is good and i like listening to them. It is one of my favourite series at that time...

Yes, of course I remember this series -- in fact, I own it on DVD. It was definitely a well-made series -- not exactly one of my favorites, but the acting was excellent. Nnadia is a great actress -- she does all her parts so well (it's hard to belive that this was her first series -- she's definitely a natural at acting). Nnadia is actually perfect for this type of 1930s/1940s period roles because she has that elegant look about her -- also, her singing is very good...she's another one of those actresses (TVB has many of them) who are truly talented in terms of acting but always gets overlooked because she's not a rumor-magnet and simply does her job without purposefully trying to be in the spotlight all the time.

I also agree that Nnadia and Leon made a cute couple in this series -- they matched well and everyone wanted them to be together, but since we all know the real story about Zhou Xun, we knew it would not last (but rooted for them anyway).

I remembered reading off a forum in spcnet.tv about nnadia early life. How her parents forced her to quit school to enter the entertainment world to make money, but when she refuses she was beaten to the point that her face was swollen and she couldn't stand it anymore so she called for help. Later on, she put into a foster home and decided to become an actress to helped around the house. I think because of her unhappy and abusive childhood she could portrayed these types of characters really well. She was going through a very sad part of her life when she filmed Song Bird with leon lai. Only when one experiences such tradegy that could play such character naturally.
