My eyelashes used to be ultra short, but it's sooo weird, each time I wear mascara *I only put on make up for special ocassions* I find that my lashes are longer after; just slightly, but I can kind of see it.

maybe when my parents go out I'll do it such a good girl, huh? haha!

I did for both and it does grow back...just very slowly. Best thing I learnt to do now is just not think bout it....next thing u know....it has grown

it just makes them shorter. you must be imagining things if you really think it does.

have you ever tried it? your eyelashes are like hair.....they just grow at a much slower pace. Don't you ever find that after you cut off the split ends from your hair, that it grows faster? You can believe what you want....but maybe you're lucky and you were born with longer eyelashes *shrugs* either way, it's your unbelieving word against the positive feedbacks of dozens of people on here. ^^

it really is your choice.....I was scared at first too. lol but I was desperate for longer eyelashes ^^:;;;; if you don't want to cut them, I guess you could get surgery done when you're older.....you can have lash extensions done and they last about 6 weeks. it's kind of expensive though......and fake eyelashes have that sticky glue and it can be a hassle if you're in a hurry. plus I don't think you want to apply fake ones EVERY SINGLE day you know?

everybody told me i had amazing eyelashes, the first time i heard it, i went and showed off to my mom, and she said: if i didn't cut them when you were a baby, you wouldn't have such nice lashes...i was like WTH??? u cut them? she said yeah, and it worked.. so yeah...from personal experience (not that i remember), it works! so cut away guys~!

i would love to have longer eyelashes.. but i'm really scared that they won't grow back. i have REALLY thin hair that grows very slowly, and i'm pretty sure my eyelashes will act the same way.

actually this method works on other body hairs too (unfortunately). I accidentally started plucking my eye brow hair loong ago. And more grows back thicker and harder to pluck. It sucks. but body hair seems to work this way. i wonder why

wow.. thats so weird... but i think my lashes are long enough.. my lashes are always falling off and buggin me... but then I really do think after the time I burned my face my lashes had grown back longer than before. But don't try burning your face jus for that.. it really hurts even tho the skin and hair all grow bac.. it was a terrible experience.

although i've never tried trimming my eyelashes (xD), theoretically, eyelashes are just like any other body hair. if the hair is cut, it will grow back, however long it takes or slowly it grows.
of course, it may be that ''little kids'' hair grows faster, but im quite sure that normal adults will grow hair as well xD

Hmm.. this seems interesting. I guess it's an at your own risk sort of thing because you have to be very careful in cutting the lashes, plus be careful not to poke yourself in the eye--> scary part. But won't your hair be thick and weird cutted at the end because lashes are fine at the end ( i believe the hair grows near your skin). But i do think it woulds like other hair in your body, it will grow back again, as long as you don't take the hair root out (waxing). Just don't puck eyebrows out!!! i think i watched one of them shows where this gilr had a habit of plucking her eyebrows and i don't think all of them grew back, so it's weird looking now...Good luck tryin if you dare...As for me, i'm a scary cat =)

it worked for me i cut off half my lashes for both eyes top and bottom 2 or 3 weeks ago and it's growing back noticeably xD oh and i also used vaseline/petroleum jelly that might have helped

Haha. i want shorter eyelashes im a guy. and i have fairly long eyelashes, they get in the way alot, and so i wasn't able to wear contact lenses

hmm.. sounds pretty strange. Don't quite get the idea how that could be possible. Have to be very careful when you're cutting your eye lashes as it so near to the eye. I think i can leave with short eye lashes..

its so true...its the same concept with a baby who doesnt have much hair once you cut that spot it will make that area grow much faster resulting in longer hair/longer eyelashes...i heard that alot of parents do that to their kids when they are young especially the daughters so this is definitely true...how much it grows i dont know though cant really confirm that one

A little anecdote from me to you.

There was someone i use to know that naturally, had really long lashes. But, because he was a guy, he hated them, so he started cutting them. Then soon after, he realized they grew longer than its original length, therefore, he cuts them again and repeats this process for i'm not quite sure how long. But recently, he finds his eyelashes were really thick, and the end of it, where it is connected to his eyelids, starts to hurt because his eyelashes are poking at it. Its like shaving, it grows back longer and thicker just in a greater time interval. He consulted with many doctors, but many dont know what to do, but they believe it is harmful to his eyes because of the constant irritation it provides.

I personally believe that cutting it ever so-many months is not a good idea.

i have pretty long eyelashes myself...so i don't know. but the only problemi have it that my eylashes won't curl. i curl it 30mins later it's staight again. same as my hair. any ideas?

o ive heard of it be4 cept im scared to cut them? what if they dont grow back!?!?!?!?! then im screwed! and plus my lashes arnt THAT short just kinda straight

I've done it and still do it...hehe it takes about 3 months for it to grow back to full size but it really works... I trim "only" a little bit of the tips of my lashes about once a year just to keep them long and full... becareful though cause you need very steady hands for this procedure.. and don't cut them all at once... just cut the tip of a few strands every month... that way that way it won't be that noticable... good luck!!

Maybe the eyelashes seem longer because you've cut it and it took weeks before it grew back.. so then in comparison after the long wait it just seemed longer It almost seems like an urban legend if you ask me. I don't know about eyelashes growing longer, i think they grow THICKER. Because there are some types of hair that grow up to a certain length. That's how genetics was programmed. I mean you don't see ur eyebrows growing 1-2 cm longer when you trim them. They grow back thicker.

I've been cutting my eyelashes 2-3 times / year (cause I'm lazy) and it really does work ^^ So try it. But be really carefull ^^
Cause think about it, you shave your legs, you cut your hair, and it grows back doesn't it?

i think that only works for some ppl, i wouldnt advise ppl to do it, what if it doesnt grow back? i think sticking back to using olive oil on ur eyelashes is safer.

hmm..i just tried it a couple of days ago at my cousin's house..and now my eyelashes are soo short!! But i'll be patiently waiting for the results..hopefully in a month or so?? I hope it still works...cuz i always thot it only worked for like really little kids...

My aunt tried this on her baby girl, I was shocked at first, but it turned out really well. I thought that when the hair gew out, the tips would be blunt, but they weren't.

i think cutting your lashes only works if you are still a baby. else i don't think it actually works at all..

recently there's this mascara by loreal.. the black and gold one.. saw some ppl applying it and the results are damm obvious.. thinking of getting one myself actually
