Yeah she's a singer but i don't think she counts as a newcomer anymore cause she became a singer last year so she was a newcomer last year??!! lol she's a pretty good singer though =D

i love her songs... though her album is rather short.. the songs are all pretty good.. especially 亡命之途.. she has a great voice and can sing well..

kay has a nice voice, and great singing abilities. i love her debut song, 姿色份子, but her songs she released later on don't really leave an impression. another one i like is 悟入歧途.

I don't whether there's already a thread about her since the search engine in this forum isn't working.
But anyways...she is one of the newcomers from last year, who unfortunately didn't get much attention despite that her songs did fairly well on the charts, since the media/people focused mostly on either Janice or Ivana. She only got one bronze award (from 903) at the big award ceremonies in dec/Jan, if my memory serves me right. Kay was earlier signed under Banban music company, but switched to Cinepoly (Eason's music company) just a few days ago. I find her songs quite nice and different compared to other Cantonese songs nowadays...and her singing isn't bad either. However there's still room for improvement when it comes to her live-singing. So I'm just curious of what you think about her as a singer, and about her switching company.

I don't think many ppl know her that well...
I personally think she's a pretty good singer...
I like her song, 'Sow Yun Zeet'.

She has to be a good singer because she Ivana and another lady sang that opening (at the TVB anniversary for singers last year) with Justin and Bliss for the whole monkey business with I Love You Boyz and Ron Ng "dancing."

kay has a really good voice, and i believe she's actually one of the better newcomers. my favorites of her songs are 姿色份子 and 悟入歧途. she has her own style when she sings.

Kay Tse Is Pregnant

There is a rumor that talented singer Kay Tse is pregnant and will announce a temporary departure from the music world. Recently, Kay joined Cinepoly Records and is in the midst of being promoted. Suddenly, the rumor of her being secretly pregnant spread. After she immediately discussed with her record company, the company decided to hold a press conference for her tomorrow to explain her pregnancy news and announce her temporary departure from the music world.

Yesterday, Kay and her boyfriend Louis Cheung attended TVB Music Channel event. The two like a couple hosted the event. Although she wore a denim skirt, she wore a loose-fitting shirt to cover up. The journalists asked her record company for confirmation and a representative said, "Not convenient to answer. Will talk about it later." Her manager said, "Basically, it's a happy matter. Will know then."

As for her boyfriend Louis was in a hurry to record, he rejected to answer. Asked if he knows his girlfriend is pregnant, he said, "It's not convenient for me to talk now. Let me record first. (Is the baby yours?) I can't say it right now."

Louis Cheung Admits Will Be A Father

The couple Kay Tse and Louis Cheung is reported that they will be parents. At an event, Louis admits the baby news. He expressed that his and Kay's record company will hold separate press conferences tomorrow, so he will talk about the related details then. After the press conference, he will have a small party. Kay will be attending as well. During the conversation, Louis could be seen to have a smile on his face. He seems to be in a very good mood. Asked if his work will change, he said it's normal so no changes. He will work even harder and put more effort in his work in the future.

The news came so sudden...I seriously thought the reporters just made it up. So I was shocked when I read that Louis admitted it. But I guess we will know 'the truth' after the press conference tomorrow. Anyways congrats to Kay & Louis!

Kay admitted today that she has been pregnant for 3 months now. They actually engaged in march, so the baby was planned and not an accident. She also said she'll release an album or best selection in january before she leaves and then come back around the end of 2007.

she's quite pretty. i haven't actually listen to her songs yet but the reviews shows that she's a decent singer and not just a pretty face.. does anyone know how old she is and how old her boyfriend louis cheng is? congratulations on their baby!

my gosh!!! I heard she was pregnant on a music video show and flipped out!!! She's so young...i don't understand why you'd want to start a family now when you've got your whole career ahead of you and you're really starting to get you're name out there...I didn't even know she had a boyfriend let alone it be louise cheng, let along be engaged!!!!
She's a wonderful singer and all...i just think its a shame to waste a whole year where you're doing great to have a baby. She's got all the time in the world for that.

After reading the lyrics...it seems as the song is talking about her. Like what she thinks about her pregnancy etc.

I read in a magazine that she's pregnant and is gonna get married to Louis Cheung next year.

She was born on March 13, 1977. I couldn't believe it at first...because Kay looks like she's only in her early 20s. So she isn't 23 as the newspapers say. They just assumed she was born in the 80s since she's pretty young-looking and graduated in 2003.

Louis will turn 27 next month, so he is approx. 3 years younger than Kay. He looks older to me though...
Some reporters and people on the net have been quite mean to him lately, saying that he will have difficulties to take care of Kay and their baby with his low income and comparing him and Kay with 'Beauty and the beast'. I think people should just leave them alone, celebrities have their own private life too...I believe they'll be able to solve problems themselves. (if they really have a problem that is)

i just watched Go East's 10 year anniversary show and i was really impressed with Kay's singing...i think that Kay is so pretty (i can't believe that she's already almost 30!) and i feel that it's such a shame that it took me so long to become one of her fans because now that she's pregnant, she'll be leaving the industry for quite some time

I think I know why Kay, Louis, Hins, Ivana, and Khalil are all good, good, good friends. Despite being in the industry for a short period of time, they are able to handle personal relationships and rumors with such class. Louis and Kay aren't afraid of people making fun of their pregnancy or their relationship. When the camera panned over to Louis at Chik Chak, he waved to the camera instead of just plain ol smiling. When Sammy was relating Leo's song to Kay's pregnancy, she can sit there with a smile and have the expression of "thank you," whereas most others would sit with a smile or be embrassed. Despite the rumors of Hins and Ivana, the two are able to perform on the same stage and they are able to comfort each other. All these things are so rare in HK and all these things are qualities that bring them together.

Despite her actual age she looks so pretty and young. Totally not 30s like. Unlike her husband so wrinkly. TT baby stress. But im so happy for them. Even Cheung king hins. Its like a musical family.

It seems like Khalil and Kay are very good friends. Notice the Chinese characters on her trucker cap...that's the name of one of the songs on his new album. She was probably helping him promote it.
And I just read an article that Khalil is currently learning to knit a scarf for Kay's baby. I think it's really sweet of him to deliberately learn something for the baby. Khalil said that it took him half an hour to knit two rows.

Is that really her blog. Her english is very fluent. Where is she from?

yea, I'm sure that's her blog since different magazines have posted pics of her blog entries before. As for her English...I find it pretty good too, but that's probably because she majored in 'American studies' during her time in university. I also remember she has expressed that English was her favourite subject and that she didn't have any difficulties with it while she wasn't that good at math.
From what I know she was born in HK and hasn't studied abroad before.

If you want to...you can go to the news section and read about the day of their marriage, who they invited etc. It was the first time for me seeing them so close...usually when they are doing shows together they always seem so distant from each other.

Kay is now 5 months pregnant...so the baby will probably be due around may-june. I wonder whether they have decided the name for the baby yet. (?) I know that both of them have been joking about it. They came up with names such as
張來 jeung loi (Future Cheung), 張紙 jeung zhi (Paper Cheung) etc. :lol?:

I was listening to Kay's interview on CR903...apparently before she entered the industry, she was an English Teacher for Form 3 students. She also did substitution jobs for teachers for students in elementry school.

No wonder why she has such great english.

Love the pictures of her and Louis at their wedding! So sweet. Yesterday, TheSun newspaper also had a picture of her shopping on her time off. In that picture, you can finally see her stomach.

I've been listening to her new album for a bit now. It's very good and her voice is something I've never heard before. There should be more singers like her coming out.

i really love her talent! im kinda crazy over her right now because she has so many songs that i like! and i agree with much of her views and the way she sees things. it's really too bad that she is taking a break for her pregnancy, hopefully she will continue singing after she gives birth!

I bought her best selection album "The first day" last month and have been listening to it non-stop for these past weeks. I like her songs, voice and diction. She has her own style and isn't afraid to be different. I think it's good that she isn't singing songs which the market want and like (i.e commericalized songs) but rather what she herself like. She expressed that in one of her songs.
"Don't wanna be that someone who just sing with their greed" (Part of the bridge in her song "the one & only")
I also admire her because of her passion for music.
