Like a brilliant star, Nhu Quynh's fame came to her only within the past 2 years. Many critics speculate that her success and stardom will only reach greater heights as Nhu Quynh is still very young. She also has great command over her voice and a varied repertoire in her musical skills. Since her debut, Nhu Quynh has steadily developed into a very solid performer.

Nhu Quynh was born in Dong Ha township, Quang Tri prefecture not far from Hue. She is the oldest in a family of three. Her mom was going to name her Ðông Hà, after her birth place but decided to name her Lâm Quynh Nhu instead. At a very young age, Nhu Quynh has already demonstrated her skills and talent as a performer. She regularly performed on the stage of her old elementary school and later graduated to performing in local television programs for children. Nhu Quynh studied music under professor Bá Thái of the Vietnamese National Music Institute and for a time, she taught music to young children in District 1 of Saigon.

In the spring of 1993, Nhu Quynh's family immigrated to the United States and settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1994, her parents met a fellow countryman with connections to Asia Productions. Her first appearance is on Asia Video 5 with the song "Nguoi Tinh Mua Dong" translated from Chinese to Vietnamese by Anh Bang directed by the songmaker Truc Ho. This music left an unforgetable image of a beautiful singer with a sweet voice.After her first appearance she came back with another song in Asia Video 6 with her song "Chuyen Hoa Sim" written by Anh Bang again. After listening to both songs, "Chuyen Hoa Sim" and "Nguoi Tinh Mua Dong", she proved to everyone that she can perform any type of Vietnamese songs.

During Nhu Quynh's 3 years of success, she came out with three of her own albums which all are from the Asia Entertainment Productions. Her first album was NHU QUYNH 1 "Chuyen Hoa Sim", which was maybe one of the best sellers in Vietnamese history. Her second album, NHU QUYNH 2 "Rung La Thay Chua", in my opinion was not that great. "Chuyen Tinh Hoa Trang" was her third main album she did for Asia Entertainment. After this three main albums she was also in other Asia Entertainment albums with 2 or 3 songs in each.

Nhu Quynh's contract with Asia Entertainment ended towards the end of the month of October, 1996 and after that she made her own music production with the name of N-Q Records. In her new company she had already produced albums.

i like her performances..she has a wide variety of different types of music that she sings..and they are always entertaining to watch

Nhu Quynh is the best singer that i ever know. She is the 2nd viet singer, to perform in japan, right? It's too sad, i hope she will be more famous, for example in american or european business. But it seems that they are not interressed in viet music.
Some french friend listen to nhu quynh song, they like it, she has a sweet voice. I love when she sing and dance, it's too beautiful to watch!

OMG! Nhu Quynh is my absolute favorite female vietnamese singer (Tran Thai Hoa is my favorite male singer) I just love her voice...it's so crystal clear and soothing and she's so cute! I love the traditional dresses she wears on PBN and I love the songs she sings...and the coreography, etc is awesome! one of my alltime faves is the one in the PBN Karaoke 44 DVD were she's like a princess who commits suicide bcuz of her love (or something like that...my vietnamese friends explained it to me but I forgot lol) and then like all the guards die with her too...something like that...she comes out sitting on a moon...just gorgeous! and also on PBN 69 she sings a duet with Phi Nhung (probably spelled it wrong blush ) and I loved that one. but my all time favorite song of her is Người Ngoài Phố in PBN 72 DVD ... her voice is amazing!!!

Okay, that's good then. I just remembered the guys got together after the concert and they just talked about it. I was just the spectator and my friends didn't care that much. Just that my brother's friends were more vocal and joked about it. It was funny but I do know joking around at someone's expense isn't good, even though it was true. I wasn't trying to stir anything up. She wasn't pretty to me in the first place anyway so i could care less after knowing that so don't get offended. lol.

As for her being 'dieu', that's just my opinion. If you don't think so, that's fine. My girlfriends really like her and still think she 'overdoes' it on the stage. I just reword for them so they don't offend her fans here either. lol.

Nhu Quynh is my favorite Vietnamese artist of all time. Although I am not fully Vietnamese, I do listen to a lot of Vietnamese music. Currently, I am taking Beginners' Vietnamese at my university, and part of that reason is because of great Vietnamese songs like the ones sung by Nhu Quynh. My favorite Vietnamese song is "Nu Hong Mong Manh," which I highly recommend to anyone who hasn't heard it yet.

Nhu Quynh's singing voice is one of the best Vietnamese female voice out there. I simply love her song, 'Nguoi Tinh Mua Dong', I really like it alot, much better than the Chinese version I hear played occassionally while shopping.

I really don't listen to Vietnamese music, but on Dec 25 I went to the Viet show in Atlantic city. For the first time I heard her sing. Her voice was so sharp and smooth. She's also very pretty. She's now one of my fav. singer.

Nhu Quynh is a beautiful name, she is the best (Female) singer Iv'e ever seen. SHe probally my favorite. SHe's so beautiful and she sings variety types of songs. Is she and Truong Vu a couple? Cause they always do duets together.

I just saw Nhu Quynh at Sycuan casino in San Diego and she was awesome. It was a friday evening and it took 3 hours to drive there from Orange County, but it was well worth it! Nhu Quynh was the last performer to take the stage, but when she arrived it was like seeing an angel as she walked through the audience and sang a medley of vietnamese songs. I wish she could have performed longer. The next time she performs in the Orange County area, I will be sure to go see her again.
My favorite performance of Nhu Quynh's is "Cau Chuyen Dau Nam" on Thuy Nga 76.
As far as her being "dieu", I can only say that there wasn't a trace of vanity in her performance that night. I think she is growing as a performer and has adjusted well to her critics.

I love nhu quynh, her voice is like wow...she is wow..even though i can't say she's pretty since she have plastic surgery..but i don't know why she needs to..i saw some pics of her from a while ago and back then she look fine...anyway..i've been a fan of her since i was 7 years old..the first time i watched pbn was the first time nhu quynh has join them i was like..wow mum she's so good..no matter what my brother said about her and compared her to other female singer..but i stil think she's teh best....

Diu Dang? I don't think so, she was living with Lawyer Hoang Dung, then they broke up then now she is dating that Andy Quach guy, header of some Westminster thingggy.
And her latest CD suck so bad, she loosing her voice, you can hear she barely have a voice, she grasp on the high note of Ba Me Que. I don't really like her.

oh..i'm so disappointed with her new cd..like when i heard that i was going to be release soon..i'm so looking forward to it..i went over to the store and ask them like a millions of time if it's out yet..but today when i got it and listen to it...is not even good...the songs are nothing new....and she didn't even copyright one song...so dissappointed in her and yes...she's off tune in some of the songs..you can tell if you listen to it..just hope it's only that cd..hope that her future will be better... i mean i really like the old cds she got..but the new one..say it straight is suck....just hope it will be better in the future..

Yupp i do agree she is one of the most famous PBN country singer now adays. I like her voice, and my mom likes to listen to her too. The only thing i don't like, is when she tries to sing teen music.
