Currently protagonist of a little controversy over her starring role in next year's 궁 (Princess Hours - Season 2), and lately voted the best Singer turned Actress amongst the new Actors emerging last year (competition was incredible. I'm not kidding you), Yoon Eun-Hye has been cast in a new Drama already. The former Baby V.O.X. member will in fact lead KBS2's new Mon/Tue Drama 포도밭 그사나이 (The Vineyard Man), which starts broadcasting on 7/24, after the conclusion of 미스터 굿바이 (Mr. Good-Bye). In the show, Yoon plays a city girl moving to the countryside to do farming, in order to raise funds for a business she wants to start (!). This is adapted from a famous novel of the same name by Kim Rang, which will also be the foundation for a film later this year. Rest of the cast should be announced shortly. [Daum News - 6/13]

6/26/06 – Yoon Eun Hye (윤은혜, 22) and Oh Man Suk (오만석, 30) will lead the Monday-Tuesday drama “That Man of Vineyard (포도밭 그 사나이)” scheduled to be aired by KBS2 on 7/24 following the final episode of “Mr. Goodbye”.

In this romantic-comical drama, YEH plays the role Lee Ji Hyun (이지현) who grew up in countryside and then lives in city. Ji Hyun works as a designer for a clothing company, but she is fired by the company. Although she would like to design clothes using her name as the brand, she has no money to accomplish her goal. Then she accepts her grandfather’s suggestion to inherit a large vineyard, and she is involved in the development of a resort for 1 billion Won in the countryside. OMS plays the role Jang Taek Gi (장택기) who is an honest young man working in a vineyard to help his father. The filming is scheduled to start on 6/28. YEH’s latest drama was “Palace”, and OMS is a singer/actor and his previous drama was “Shindon (신돈)”.

The male lead is Oh Man Seok. He won the BEST NEW STAGE ACTOR AWARD in 2001 by playing king's favorite clown Gong-gil in the stage play "Yi", which was adpated to the Korea's mega-hit movie "King and the Clown (2005)" . (In the movie, Lee Jun-ki played Gong-gil though) Oh Man-seok also won the BEST MUSICAL ACTOR AWARD in 2005 by playing "Hedwig". Oh Man-seok is a SUPER STAR in the Korean musical / theatre world. His previous drama was MBC "Shindon."

Yeh is very lucky to be paired with a really talented actor like him...

The summary sounds promising, the guy is cute,
and it's got Yoon Eun Hye, what could go wrong?

The storyline looks nice and it got Yoon Eun Hye in it, it does have strong cast
But is it Oh Man Suk of the first two pics? Because it doesn't looks like him, he looks better with longer hairstyle, i guess
Nevertheless, I am looking forward in this series with YEH in it

ohhh I can't wait for this! I heard Hyun Bin from Kim Sam Soon was going to play the male lead though but he rejected it But omg Yoon Eun Hye looks so pretty in those pics! I still like her Goong look better though but this hair style works for her too

yoon eun-hye was awesome in goong...she was the reason i kept watching even though at points it got a bit too draggy for me

ooo those grapes looks tasty. i like her, but i'm not too sure about the lead guy. he doesn't look too "cute". sound so mean, but ionno i tend to be more attracted to those series with a cute leading male and female. well maybe this will be one of thsoe exception series.

yeah... i also look for the looks and the chemistry of the lead actors... even though the plot is good, i still fin the series not worthy to watch

7/4/06 – Kim Ji Suk (김지석) will costar with Yoon Eun Hye and Oh Man Suk in the Monday-Tuesday drama “That Man of Vineyard (포도밭 그 사나이)” scheduled to be aired by KBS2 on 7/24 following the final episode of “Mr. Goodbye”. He plays the role Kyung Min (경민) who is very popular among young women and is a plastic surgery doctor working in the public healthcare center in the countryside. The heroine Ji Hyun (played by Yoon Eun Hye) is attracted by Kyung Min’s high-class disposition. In addition to KJS, supporting cast including Lee Soon Jae, Yoon Moon Shik, and Sun woo Yong Nye (이순재, 윤문식, 선우용녀) will perform in this drama.

The man behind vanilla Daily Drama 백만송이 장미 (A Million Roses) makes his Miniseries debut... and it doesn't promise too well. Of course Daily Dramas have completely different dynamics and rules, so you never know -- just look at how Lee Ju-Hwan adapted to Sageuk settings in 주몽 (Jumong). But his past work was so average in just about every aspect that keeping your expectations low would be better.

Hmmm.... problematic. What I mean is depending on the situation, how the station handles the Drama, and if they let her follow the original, things could go pretty well, or we may see a car wreck. Now amongst her past works there's no real stinkers. Despite recording truly embarrassing (sometimes around the 2%) ratings, last year's 가을 소나기 (Autumn Shower) wasn't as horrible as advertised. Of course it was pretty bad, but nowhere near as bad as things like 웨딩 (Wedding) and 봄날 (Spring Days), shows which got way too much publicity considering their complete lack of anything even remotely appealing. She was also responsible for the interesting musical 내 인생의 콩깍지 (My Life's Bean Chaff) -- let down by average acting, but generally quite watchable -- and 1999's popular 안녕 내 사랑 (Goodbye My Love) with Ahn Jae-Wook. But Jo was also active writing film scripts: her works tend to be quite uneven, from the decent 오버 더 레인보우 (Over The Rainbow) to the pain inducing 연풍연가 (Love Wing, Love Song). One thing she did in the past was great though, she wrote the script for Jang Yoon-Hyun's lovely 접속 (The Contact), one of the best commercial films of the late 90s. Shouldn't be too bad, actually.

CAST: WARM
[Yoon Eun-Hye, Oh Man-Seok, Ok Ji-Young, Kim Ji-Seok, Kang Eun-Bi, Lee Soon-Jae, Yoon Moon-Shik, Seonwoo Yong-Nyeo]
Again, not bad. You should know Yoon Eun-Hye by now, 'star' of 궁 (Princess Hours) and that horrible mess 카리스마 탈출기 (The Legend of 7 Cutter). She hasn't shown even once she could act, but then again was never really given much of a chance. On the other hand, Oh Man-Seok of 신돈 (Shin Don) is quite good. He's also an excellent stage actor, and showed good range between this year's fantastic Sageuk and the comedy 라이어 (Liar). Ok Ji-Young of 고양이를 부탁해 (Take Care of My Cat) always leaves a mark, and the veterans are good enough. If anything, Kang Eun-Bi might possibly be even worse than Yoon Eun-Hye, so that's already two problematic choices in the main cast.

OUTLINE: WARM
If, and that's a big if, they can stay true to Kim Rang's original, then it could be quite good. We're essentially dealing with a country girl who grew up in the city, and is forced to go back to the countryside. There she'll met Prince Bumpkin (Oh Man-Seok) and the shenanigans will start. Could just be the 황금사과 (Golden Apple) version of your average Trendy Drama, but the original novel is quite good, so unless the station plays tricks, it should be a pretty entertaining show.

WEATHER: Not too bad, I think? Cast is a little problematic in spots, and there's really nothing here standing out, but unless they embarrass themselves with the usual country vs city cliches and forget the original work in the second half, it should be smooth sailing. As always keep an umbrella handy, it's a Trendy Drama after all.

I love this girl. I've heard that's gonna be subbed by the great subbers. Am looking forward to seeing her again after Goong. She has the face that refreshes and she has the spunk and ability to charm people. Can't wait to see it. Go, go Bigongmama!

I heard the ratings for this series had been very low and that many said that YEH'S acting did not improve and it even became moe "fake" than in Goong
But I thought this series was light-hearted comedy when I saw those previews, I couldn't say that she had improved since i didn't even watch the series and isn't it too early to say their judement when the series has just started airing and didn't finish yet??!!!
BUt go, YEH since she wanted to act in this character

I think the 2nd epi of this series increases by 0.1%; from 7.8% to 7.9%, hope it will continue rising

The series is getting funnier by each episode. Please take a chance on it regardless of the ratings. It is going against Jumong, so the ratings are suffering because of that.

She is such a talented actress, i hope that the series improves!!! Really liked her in Goong

Episodes 1 and 2 were kind of draggy, but they have some really cool scenes like the one where YEH strutted her stuffs with Christina's song blaring in the background.

Episodes 3 and 4 definitely improved. These two episodes were hilarious. i LOVE OMS's acting in here. For those who are wondering whether to watch the series, watch parts of epi 3 and 4 first then you can decide on whether to watch the series or not.

The drama will get more interesting when YEH's love interest moves back to the Vineyard community to work as the village doctor.

Yeah please don't be discouraged from watching this series because the rating is low. Every other series out there right now is doing poorly too due to Jumong. As of right now, Over the Rainbow has low rating too even though the cast members are popular singers/actors and also the series invites many guest appearances like Kim Jong Min of Koyote, etc.

Yupx, but I heard that the ratings of Jumong also dropped due to the dragging plot and the ratings for TVM [the vineyard man] increased
this series has more 12 epis before it will finish airing, so its rating will definetly increases

I watched the 1st epi
It was really hilarous when the YEH thought that those guys wants to rape her and she screams in the toilet! but it turns out that those 2 guys were only interested with the clothes she designed and wore on
Maybe I will continue to watch the 2nd epi, but I don't feel like watching the 2nd epi

The ratings aren't high is due to the competition of Jumong. But overall, this series is great!! The people who thought that this series wasn't good...they like it a lot now. And as you can see, for each episode the ratings has increased.

BTW, the subs for episode 1 is up at d-addict.

Yoon Eun Hye's other series is Goong and Oh Man Seok's other series is Shindon. I'm not sure about Kim Ji Suk though...this might be his first drama and same with Kang Eun Bi.

Im looking forward to seeing this drama. I hope its good and im looking forward to seeing Yoon Eun Hye act again. I liked her in Goong a lot.

I just got done watching from Episode 1-8 this series is so addicting and very funny. Episode 1-2 is a bit slow but I have been enjoying it from episode 3 and up. I highly recommend this series. It's sooooo good and "The Vineyard Scenery is beautiful.

fortunately this is available here in the Phils. and I was able to watch it..i really like eun hye since she's funny and oh man seok is a cool actor too i was just a lil disappointed since he isn't hot...no offense..we usually watch shows where the leading man is drop dead gorgeous but since he's a great actor no complaints here...anyway the doctor is kinda cute so it balances it out...i was disappointed in Goong's ending so i hope this is better...up until the 6 episode i think its ok i really love that its a light romance comedy...

This is the best ending I've seen in a series so far. They really did an excellent job.

I already kept her in mind the very first time i met her, i have a tendency to dislike beautiful actresses instinctively ( but it doesn't mean that she isn't pretty, Don't beat me I will hurt) ,.

I said Leejihyun in the vineyard man cannot be played by a beautiful woman. After that I was so embarrassed and nervous, It was not the proper words to say in front of an actress but I remembered the first sentence of what she said " I am not pretty. why did you say that".

I was happy. In the darkness of the cafe i couldn't figure out her appearance so I thought what she said could be true, but I saw her clearly when she went out of the cafe, she is so beautiful, tall and have long legs. I thought I made a mistake. I couldn't sleep at home. If she acted as a beautiful girl in this drama it would have been a great trouble. I was regretful to the extent that I wanted to prick my eyes(because i was wearing glasses I already knew it can not be hurt my eyes..)

First reason why i like YEH is that she gave up herself and engrossed in her role in the drama without any hesitance. Passing three months under the sizzling sun, wearing make-up was useless,because sweat engulfed everything.

Imagine a young actress without makeup.. even I casted an actress for the drama with sweet flatterys. In the light of imagination about the story that shows how an urban girl adapts herself to rural life It must be an arduous task. How i manage in such case for her not to run away from filming.... should i keep filming with a actress on handcuffed condition.... i worried alot and I expressed my gratitude to her. Untill now she doesn't express any complaint such as filming is too hard, or character doesn't suit her mind or request for something to do.
Rather than complain, she suggest settings arranged by herself, or funny stories to make a good drama. There are many ideas of Leejihyun(YEH)for in detail of the vineyard man. For instance, her own designs, the cellphone case which is made of rubber-shoe, lots of clothes modified working-pants by herself and so on.



Her popularity is the highest in filming spot. Even when we took a rest, she doesn't stop looking through scripts. whenever i look for her with my expectation that she maybe be dozing off out of sight, she was always praticing script-acting with tekki(OMS) or other staff by herself. it was big relief for us to see YEH always smiling brightly with tanned face. so the vineyard man was able to become one of the natural and good dramas.

The Vineyard Man would start airing in KBS America on September 25 Monday! I think its Channel 12 for LA/OC residents im soo happy at least i dont have watch it through my PC

this is one of the MOST MEMORABLE series I have ever watched. OMS is my huge crush right now. He is sooo manly n kind n responsible.

I have watched the whole series 3 times already n most of it even without english or chinese subs. This is a first for me.

If you are in the mood for some light-hearted romantic comedy, then this series is a good choice.

Here is a summary I wrote for this series:

Lee Ji Hyun (YEH) is a 26 years old female who works at a fashion designing company. She is mediocre in many ways: looks, career, and wealth. However, she is talented in designing clothes, regardless of her talent, she is still a temporary worker. So in order to become a permanent worker, she has to design several outstanding outfits for the upcoming project that her company holds. Ji Huyn works hard on the outfits and successfully made several beautiful outfits. Her leader saw these outfits and were quite impressed with her skill, but then she got jealous. So when Ji Hyun when to a club wearing one of the outfits that she made, the leader orders two guys to go after Ji Hyun so she can steal the oufit. The two guys bring Ji Hyun to the men's restroom and steal her clothes. Ji Huyn got so frightened that she calls the police to report the crime and tells them to bring her some clothes.

Taek-Gi (OMS) is a vineyard worker walks into the restroom that Ji Hyun is in. Ji Hyun thinks that Taek-Gi is the police, so she made him takes off his clothes. They get into an argument and Taek-Gi falls on Ji Hyun by accident, and then the police walks in. Taek-Gi is charged with sexual harrassment. After several explanations, both of them is released.

While they were in the police station, Ji Hyun's grandfather came to visit the family and he tells them that he would give the vineyard to Ji Hyun if she agrees to work there for a whole year. Her parents agree immediately. However, when Ji Hyun arrives home and hearing the news, she becomes reluctant with the decision. After several begging from her family, especially her mom, Ji Hyun agrees to work in the vineyard.

When Ji Hyun arrives at the vineyard, she doesn't realize how difficult the work is, and worst of all, Taek-Gi is one of her grandfather workers. So of course, their relationship doesn't out smoothly. Nevertheless, as time passes, they relationship becomes more relaxed, and unintentionally, they have feelings for each other. But, their relationship becomes complicated when Ji Hyun starts seeing a doctor, Khyumin, who is Ji Hyun's old college friend who has a huge crush on.

Who will Ji Hyun chooses as her man, Taek-Gi or Khyumin?

This series is so good and it has the best ending that I've seenin a Korean drama so far. Definitely worth watching. people who have criticised this drama even before watching it, totally changed their minds afterwards, so that should count for something right?

I really can't wait for YEH's character to mature because it's getting irritating to see her saying that everything is difficult when she hasn't even tried anything yet.
Also Taek-Gi's "girlfriend" Hoon Yee or something isn't really pretty plus she is annoying. At only eps 3 she is all jealous aa~~
Overall this drama is good, it's very funny I've watched the 3 first eps so far and I want more haha. Just hope it's gonna get better and not just stay as it is now.
I could tell that JH's first love (that doctor) would be back in the picture sooner or later... aiya!!

Oh trust me, her character makes a huge improvement starting episode 5.
