Some people can be easily spotted by the way they talk and dress. Others don't really have the typical features.

demeanor, accent, topic/s of conversation, flirting w/ same sex, sometimes choice on clothing/fashion, and ppl they associate with...

when he dresses better than you, you know hes gay. there are so many metrosexuals these days.

some times you cna spot a gay man right away by the way they act. the way they dress, the way they do their hair. a gay man is usually a pretty boy.

LOL. Thats funny! I've seen a few gays around, well I'm pretty sure they are anyway. Sometimes you can pick them out easily, they walk funny, they speak very softly or with a higher pitch voice, their hand movements are different, they either cross their legs or they have their thighs closely together when they sit down, whereas normal guys sit with their legs a bit open.

Well theres always the guy and a girl type of gay right?
the guy can also act like an girl so you can obviously tell.. (ie: funky hand gestures, makeup, the way they walk, talk, clothes.. etc)
but theres also some that act like any other guy.. except they're gay.. and you wont know unless they tell you. or if you see him kissing another guy or something...

Some are really easy to tell because of the way they walk or talk - not necessarily how they dress, though, because a lot of those are metrosexuals nowadays and ergo, straight. But there are far more gay men who look like normal, "straight" guys. You can't tell from just a few glances that they're straight or gay. This is something you just have to ask and find out.

ask them what they think of a good looking guy? but make sure it flows in the conversation otherwise they may say somthing else to not look gay

put on a gay-radar and you will be able to tell I think most girls would be able to tell if the guy is gay or not.

Actually, there are a lot of gay people that don't follow the stereotypical gay man (the gestures they make, clothing, etc), so it could be hard to tell right away. A man could act straight as an arrow, but could really, he could be gay.

I mistake feminine guys for being gay sometimes. Sometimes I just imply it a bit, and they're like ,, no ! I am not gay! But umm... you can kind of tell most of the time. The ones who want it known make it super obvious!

I remember watching a season of The Real World on MTV one time and there was a gay guy in there. The really feminine type and all. If you looked at him, he looked like a metro, nice close, but straight, then he talked and it was definite. But later in the season, he guy who was all "from the ghetto" and stuff, turned out to be gay. He never changed how he acted when he admited to it. So it's all in who the person is.

I mean, I've had friends tell me that they never even saw the "bi-ness" in me at all. Which isn't entirely true but still, there never really is an answer for sure. My friend knows a person who acts like he really gay, but he's straight! Like, he's all feminine and everything. He does the hand thing and the way he walks. But he talks about girls all the time. And he and my friend are really close and he even said to her, "Melissa, if I were gay, you'd be one of the first to know." So sometimes that isn't even a way to tell they are gay.

How to tell if a guy is gay? I use my Gaydar lol. I can just tell if a guy is gay, I'm that sensitive to it. I think it's due to the fact I'm surrounded by quite a few gay friends most of the time so I pick up on those little things.

The way they talk is a big giveaway, and also how they hold themselves.

Exactly, I believe that there just isn't one clear way to tell if a guy is gay. There's too many different people out there with too many different personalities and that goes for gay men too, they don't all act feminine. Some, you'd think they're straight, even after knowing them for years.

So, really, the only way to tell if a guy is gay is to ask him and let him tell you hehe

I saw a Reality Show, "Playing it Straight"
its a bunch of Hot Guys, and 1 Girl.
Who would have thought, 1/2 of the Guys are 100% gays and 1/2 are really Guys.
The aim is The Gay must play the girl into choosing them so they win the money, same goes for the guys.

So, at 1st she look on those stereotypes. who have those gestures, like to watch those shows, but those were the straight guys.

but this is a show, so they can act or pretend, dont know how to tell.

how ever if in the outside i think the best way to tell is by asking.
if he is gay he would say, if he is not he would more likely be offended.

Simple: "Hey, are you gay?" or "What's your sexual orientation?"

Asking directly tends to give you the most accurate results.

However, if you're asking how to "see" it visually. Sorry, can't help you there. There are stereotypes but that's all they are. Not every gay is going to fall into that category.

Unless you think they're going to make advancements on you or if you're interested in a relationship with them, there is no need to know.

This is actually a very good question. I like it because of all the answers that came up. It shows what people know and don't know. It shows maturity and immaturity. Most of the replies are idiotic.

There are no easy way to tell a person is gay or not. Mannerism, and the way the person acts has absolutely nothing to do with it. It can give you hints, like someone posted if mannerism is an indication, most HK guys are gay. I say it can give you hints, because it can be a precurser to him or her coming out.

The way you can tell if a person is gay or not is if that person is attracted to the same sex. That's it. It doesn't matter if the guy or girl is either more masculine or more girlie. I know guys that are girlie, and I always thought the dude was gay, but he actually has a very hot girlfriend. I also know a very butchy girl that is also dating a guy. I also know of a gay guy that completely looks, acts, dresses, and does all things like a straight guy. If you don't know his personal preference to be with guys, you would never know he was gay.

The only way a person can tell if he or she is gay is if he or she is attracted to the same sex. If you have a question about your own sexuality, ask yourself what attracts you more. You'll know the truth.

If they act and talk camp or they are fashion designers then yes they are gay!!! The best way to find out is ask them lol.
