Hilary Ann Duff was born on September 28th, 1987 in Houston, Texas to Bob and Susan Duff. When Hilary was six, she had been traveling in the Cechetti Ballet with her sister Haylie, but decided she wanted to fulfill her dream of acting. Her first part was in the mini-series, True Women (1997) (TV), but her first starring role was as Ellie in Soul Collector, The (1999/I) (TV), for which she won a Best Performance in a TV Movie or Pilot (Supporting Young Actress) Young Artist Award. Hilary also starred in Casper Meets Wendy (1998) (V) in 1998, in which she played the young witch Wendy. Success came again as she took the role of the starring title character Lizzie McGuire in the #1 Disney Channel Hit Series, "Lizzie McGuire" (2001). "Lizzie", is now in its 2nd season which proves to be a hit with all sorts of audiences. Hilary recently finished the Disney Channel movie Cadet Kelly (2002) (TV) and will return to the big screen for the first time in 5 years to release her successful Lizzie McGuire Movie, The (2003) movie in early 2003.

These days, Hilary Duff, 16, and Lindsay Lohan, 18, run with very different crowds. Squeaky clean Duff is focused on her clothing line Stuff; tabloid staple Lohan sometimes falls out of her clothing while partying and stuff with beau Wilmer Valderrama. But distance hasn't cooled the long-running feud between the teen queens. "This all started because we both dated Aaron Carter, and she went around telling everybody that I was a horrible person who had stolen her boyfriend," Duff spills to Blender.

The "Cinderella Story" star calls the tensions "childish and immature" and admits, "Sometimes I feel like I really hate her, which is pretty extreme for me, because I don't hate anybody ... She's always trying to spread stories about me, but the funny thing is, I know so many stories about her that I could tell you right now, but I'm not going to, because I don't think people should know. i never knew hilary duff played in casper meets wendy until like few years ago when i started noticing her on the news and tv. but anyways i like her in lizzie mcguire show i think its funny and sometimes stupid/funny. i think shes pretty and i like her songs "so yesterday" and "fly." i saw her in a commercial with her sister advertising about liquid/ice mint breaker. it was funny because one sister said liquid and the other ice and they both kept saying that one sister is right and the their wrong and back and forth.

Hilary Duff is awesome. She's pretty, a hard worker, she's sweet, she's funny, she donates to charity and helps out, she hardly complains from her lack of rest (she's getting skinny, poor her), and she's really nice. Plus, she's a great idol for little kids. Right now, little kids don't have much idols because all those idols we used to have as little kids are all grown up. It's cool how she doesn't use profanity and her acting and singing rock!

Celeb siblings HAYLIE and HILARY DUFF go from riches to rags and back to riches again in 'Material Girls,' their first big-screen joint venture. The pretty pair channel superstar MADONNA -- whose Maverick Films is producing the fun flick -- as they re-record the songstress' famous title song for the soundtrack!

"We want to record a couple of different versions," Hilary tells our RYAN DEVLIN of remaking "Material Girl." "Maybe something more dancey or more rock. There are different options we're scoping out."

Haylie finds taking on the famous song a bit intimidating. "We grew up listening to all of her music so there's all this pressure put on us," she says. "I can remember being a little kid and dancing to her music."

In the movie, heading to theaters sometime next year, the real-life sisters play what else -- sisters! "The movie's basically about two young girls and it's established at the beginning of the movie that their father has died and they are heiresses to a very famous makeup company," Hilary explains. "They lose everything and this whole scandal falls down but it's really funny."

"It is like our relationship, only exaggerated," Haylie says. "They're just more over the top than we are."

"We have a really close sister bond," Hilary says of their characters. "We have to work really hard for that to come across onscreen," she says with a wink.

And it's a real family affair for Hilary and Haylie since their own mom is a producer! But the tight-knit clan says the more the merrier! "We're all producers on this movie and I think every day is a bigger and bigger learning experience," Hilary says. "It makes us closer."

i think she got a great voice. over here, raise your voice has been airing on 4 different channels for so many times last week.. and i found out that this week is gonna too! i kept watching it when there was nothing else to watch. never got bored of it.

Actress Hilary Duff to donate US$250,000 to hurricane Katrina relief

September 02, 2005


LOS ANGELES (AP) - Hilary Duff has pledged to donate $250,000 US to help hurricane Katrina victims on the Gulf of Mexico coast.

The 17-year-old singer-actress will give $200,000 to the American Red Cross and $50,000 to USA Harvest, which is supplying food to shelters, according to a statement released Thursday by publicist Cece Yorke. The latter donation will amount to more than 300,000 cans of food being provided to victims.

Duff encouraged fans to bring canned food donations to her concerts and to give money to charities.

"It's heartbreaking to see the devastation on TV. People are missing family members, and they have absolutely nothing left, not even food and water," she said in the statement.

Duff's screen credits include The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Cheaper by the Dozen and A Cinderella Story.

Hillary duff...I do accept that she started this whole Girl-pop-rock..very innovative. And because of it..it generated: Kelly Clarkson new rockie album" Breakway", Lindsay Lohan's don't-know-how-2-sing album, Lalaine (the co-star from Lizzie Mcguire, Aslym, and a whole bunch of ppl... Her talent of singing it is because primordially because of great producers behind her.. those catchy lyrics, and tunes. And she really kinda obliterates afterwards a lot of teenagers who do really have a talent and trying to get to the musical scene. There is one obvious example: Marion Raven.
Critics consider her as a product of Hillary Duff. That is definetely not true. As some can remember ..when she was back still in M2M..on their sceond album, they were trying already to develeop a rockier album. And no one can deny me the voice talent of Marion and her songwriting skills...are very ..and far different from Hillary Duff.
