i just barely listened to her cd. and to my surprise it's actually not that bad. there are some pretty catchy songs on that cd. she's got a great voice! her acting's not that bad either. she did a pretty good job on high school musical.

Vanessa Anne Hudgens, the next big star. I don't know why, but I don't like her much. Her singing is not that good, it's quite annoying once you hear it alot. And her voice is really high pitch >.< to me she was cute, now she acts so hard to be cute. Don't know if her character in HMS changed, or did she changed. It's quiet a huge change from the first one that she's shy and conservative in a way, and the commercial for the new one she is so bubbly and different. -shruggs- just my own likings but yah, can't wait for HSM2. Wow out today right? But darn.. Rush Hour 2 is out today too.

I'm a great fan of her. I think she sings pretty well, and she looks cute, adorable, nice and sweet!! Like Run.Away-LOVE said, I don't know it's her character change or she changed, she's no longer the shy girl in High School Musical 1. She put heavy make-ups and black eyeliner. Well, but her singing is still awesome.

Disney backs `High School Musical' star

NEW YORK - The Walt Disney Co. is sticking with the 18-year-old star of its wildly successful "High School Musical" franchise, despite her "lapse in judgment" in posing for racy photos that were leaked to the Internet.

Vanessa Hudgens apologized Friday for the photos, which show her smiling as she posed naked and in underwear in a bedroom with a red curtain behind her.

"Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment," said Disney Channel spokeswoman Patti McTeague. "We hope she's learned a valuable lesson."

She said negotiations were ongoing to land all the actors for a "High School Musical 3" feature film — including Hudgens.

Hudgens, who played the brainy Gabriella in the first two made-for-cable TV movies, told her fans she was sorry.

"I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos," she said. "I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."

Hudgens' publicist, Jill Fritzo, wouldn't say anything about who took the pictures and how they slipped out onto the Internet.

The bookworm Gabriella was the love interest of Troy, the basketball star played by pinup king Zac Efron. The sequel's premiere on Disney Channel last month attracted more than 17 million viewers, making it the summer's most-watched TV program.

Hudgen is a superstar among the preteen set, and Disney has spun a wide merchandising net around the series with albums and concert tours. She and Efron reportedly date in real life, making them big attractions for celebrity magazines.

The films' wholesome nature — for a company that has made its name on family-friendly fare for generations — is a big part of its success. Parents can relax with their children watching, knowing it won't make for any uncomfortable questions.

Gabriella and Troy coo, they make googly eyes, they barely kiss. Gabriella would doubtlessly blush at the idea of a young actress posing for nude photos.

If Disney executives had cut ties to Hudgens, not wanting the company's name associated with anything not G-rated, they would have run the risk of upsetting a formula that has made the company millions upon millions of dollars.

How would parents explain to the show's young fans that the old Gabriella was being replaced by another actress?

"That's her private life, not her public life. That picture got leaked by somebody who broke a trust with her," said Michele Smith of Westborough, Mass., whose 8-year-old daughter Kathryn is a devoted "High School Musical" fan.

Dropping her from future movies or other "High School Musical" projects would not only be unfair to Hudgens but to fans such as Kathryn, Smith said.

"If Vanessa is not in the movie, my daughter would not be so excited to see it," she said.

Smith said she hopes that Kathryn doesn't hear about the photo but, if she does, she's prepared to talk about it. She'll say that it's something private for Vanessa that shouldn't have been shared.

The best thing for Disney was to do nothing, said Michael Levine, a Hollywood image consultant and author of 18 books.

"What they shouldn't do is make a bigger deal out of it than is necessary," he said. "The picture is not salacious."

Michael Sands, a publicist whose clients have included the divorce attorney for Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline, said Hudgens should be commended for coming forward quickly and saying it was her pictures.

"She's very talented and this is a big cash cow for Disney," he said.

Hey, about the nude pictures, I heard that they weren't taken recently and they weren't for Zac but rather for some actor or something in the past, before she got famous, due to various reasons and then it got leaked out. And I saw the photos(by accident in baidu.com) and they did look more like how she looked in the past(as in she looked younger). Does anyone know if that story's true?

Hey i just read an artical in a magazine and it says that vanessa and zac
have not really broken up yet....... even due to the situation on vanessa's
nude photos hiting the internet. instead zac actually bought a new car ,the

I've rewatched HSM2 again today and I just love the chemistry between them.

I'm really glad Zac didn't break up with Vanessa over those photos since it wasn't even recently where she took them.
Their breaking up will seriously affect HSM3 too, which is something I'm really anticipating.

I read that Zac Efron is supporting Vanessa Hudgens even though the photo leaked out..I am pretty sure Zac wouldn't break up with Vanessa because of the photo. He loves her strongly and they dated since the beginning of HSM..we never know because they kept it as a secret until the hawaii pictures of them and they been dating for 2 years now so I dont think he would break up with her because of the photo..he loves her strongly especially he wouldn't break up with her because of the mistakes she made....Since this photo leaked out, I am sure she needs all the supports she can have.

I don't think that there was another incident of nude photos when she was younger. No one has ever reported it and it was never on the news. For the recent pictures, I didn't hear about an ex-boyfriend. Everyone has said that it was for Zac. This kind of stuff has happended to many other celebreties before. I still support Vanessa.

Actually, It was been confirmed and she admitted herself that she did took the photos but its for her personal private life even her manager confirmed that she did took the photos. If you look closely at the pictures, you can tell she was younger around and she already apologized to fans and everyone and thank family and her friends are still there for her. I don't think its for Zac because she said it was taken for someone whom she really cared about and trust and if it was Zac, I think Zac would no matter what not let this photo leaked out and be careful about this photo.

Yes, they met each other during the High School Musical Audition and Zac admitted that they were clicked since the beginning of the audition. Yes, they been going off and on since High School Musical. its quite oblivious the photos were way before she dated Zac Efron. She doesn't even know Zac Efron before High School Musical. She only knew Ashley Tisdale before HSM.

Yes, she took the photos because she trust that person but that person broke her promise and leaked out it which was really a wrong thing to do. I hope Vanessa wouldn't trust someone so easy for now unless it was Zac. I think she was young and on the other hand, she doesn't even know if it would happen or not. All news reports with ANY of the cast, all of them tends to be reported as saying that they hope to join in HSM3 but has yet to be contacted.

Doubts that Disney will change the whole cast though. It won't be HSM anymore.

well i'm pretty sure they would not change the cast. So if they do a hsm3 which they most likely are, all the original cast will be wanted back. And I think all of them want to go back and do a third one. So hopefully it works out well and everyone is back. I would refuse to watch it if they did not let vanessa back.
