HAIR:
*Best=Raymond Lam in Lethal Weapons of Love and Passion (long, mongolian ponytail at side)
*Worst=this maid in Phan Le Que(don't know name-braids spiking up everywhere)
COSTUME:
*Best=Raymond lam in LWOLAP (mongolian clothes-really regal)
*Worst=queen in The Heroine of the Yangs/Moc Que Anh (too many feathers made her look fat and like an ostrich)

I prefer the hair, costumes and effects in the 80's. My fav would be
- Margie Tsang in The Dragon Sword as Siu Ching. The two curls at the front make her look so adorable. Very unique hairstyle. Her costume was also really pretty, they matched her hairstyles (the colour).
- Mirta King in Return of Luk Siu Fung ass Suet Bing. She had so many hairstyles and she looked cute in all of them. I like her better in the later part of the serie when she had it up mostly, with some sticking out at the back. Her costumes are also quite cute looking.
Some of the worst costumes and hairstyles I can think of is
- Sarah Au as Ha Ching Ching from Crimson Sabre 2000. She alone is not a beautiful actress (no I'm not hatin), but they gave her such ugly outfits and gosh. She looked bad in man or women clothes. Also her hairstyle did not help either, it was so plain.. plain and ugly all the time.
- Maggie Siu as Li Sai Leung's outfit from Treasure Raiders 2000. Gosh her outfit was so horrific. Maggie is a wonderful actress, and she is really pretty but her clothes were so hideous. A bunch of torn up rags. Her hairstyle did not help at all. It looked too messy.

The 80s were great but i think that only the actresses had good hair b/c the guys all have pretty much the same hair. Also you can see where they applied the glue. I especially like the look of the main actress in Empress Wu (Vo Tac Thien). She looks so adorable with her white dress and little pigtails.

Yeah they were really pretty especially Michelle compared to her role in Eternal Happiness when she always dressed as a guy. I think it depends on the guy when it comes to the bald-ponytail-braid thing of the Qing Dynasty. Like in Princess Returning Pearl 3, the guy that plays the princess' brother looked pretty good.
Best- Nnadia Chan in Legendary of 4 Aces and Strike At Heart...in both series, her hair and all her costumes were gorgeous...she's definitely an ancient beauty ^^

hmm...I can't decide for best....there's several...
For best hair and costume, I would say probably all the girls from War and Beauty. All of them have such gorgeous costumes and wonderful hairstyles. But I liked Charmaine's costume and hair design the most.
I also like the costumes and hair design from Twin of Brothers. A lot of people thought the clothes were a bit too modern for ancient series, but I find them very colourful, and all of them fit the actresses/characters very well.
As for Shanghai type of series, Anne looks gorgeous in chipao especially in Riches and Stitches, but Gigi's chipao and clothes in The Charmed Beneath were the best.
For older series, I remember Ada, Noel, and Fennie in Revelation of the Last Hero with Aaron, and I thought Ada looks stunning in there, especially when she first appeared on screen. And Kenix and Irene Wan were also gorgeous in Gentle Reflections. I remember they had really nice clothes because they wear different clothes in different stages, and it was unique since most ancient series used one costume throughout.
For the worse....
I think Raymond in Lofty Water Verdant Bow or something like that, I just remember his hair was horrible in that serie lol. And I didn't like Sharon's hair in Lethal Weapond of Love and Passion. It was different for an ancient female character....but not different in the way I would like.

yeah i didn't think that the costumes in TOB were too modern unless it was Nancy Wu's character but they were cute. I thought that Raymond's costumes were especially great. The red and orange colors really fits his fiery, powerful, and ambitious personality. Love his hair too.

Frankly i tot Raymond Lam's outfit n harido in LWOLAP was really good. He looked awesome. But i tot Charmaine's was a bit dull and monotonous. Anyone noticed that all her clothes were only one colour at once. Either all red, all blue or all yellow.

Maggie Cheung look very nice in "Better Halves". also Charmaine in Lethal Weapon Of Love And Passion, Michelle in Lost In The Western Chambers Of Love, Ada in Where The Legend Begins were also the prettiest in ancient series
i think the worst was Michelle Saram in A Step Into The Past! she was supposed to be a princess but her outfit and hairstyle made her look like a maid instead!
