I don't like very much, she annoys me at times and yea, she first started out in Virtue Of Harmony...she was okay in there, but then she got promoted? Her last series I saw of hers was Always Ready, and I saw a bit of HOG too.

I'm watching Heart of Greed right now, and I completely agree with you. That's exactly how I would describe her acting. She doesn't really put emotion in her voice; it's relatively flat most of the time. Whenever she gets really emotional scenes she merely raises her voice a few decibels and like I said, doesn't put emotion into it. She has a total of two facial expressions. If she won recently won Most Improved, then I shudder to think what she was like when she was a newbie.

I don't hate her, but I definitely don't like her. Hopefully her acting will improve significantly in a few years. :\

As I've said before (here?) I think we would have accepted Linda more if TVB took the time to wait and 'slowly' promote her. HOG was a promotion package for Linda. They've obviously changed the storyline. What a huge sacrifice. I definately think Linda is not too bad an actress (at least she's better than Kate Tsui) but she needs time to improve and until she's fa dan material I would appreciate it if TVB doesn't occupy my screen with so much of Linda.

Her singing technique is fairly good considering she not a professional singer but I don't really like her voice. It's nothing special. Her duet with Ray? it's good but I think it could have been better if someone else duet with Ray...her voice is too high. people say her voice balances out Ray's but I don't think their voice reaches a harmony for the song. That's my own opinion anyways. I've heard Ray singing the whole song solo and it was better than the duet (also my opinion).

Hopefully with a time of no-Linda series I can recover (from watching 4 of her series in a row). Happened with Myolie last time and I think I got over it...hmmm

I really dislike Linda Chung because she fails to impress me as an actress, but yet she's way too overpromoted. She lacks screen presence, and she does not strike me as leading lady material. It was ridiculous enough she won most improved female last year, but to see her cast alongside Ada, Gigi, and Maggie? She's not even in their league with the acting skills or experience. At least Tavia or Myolie would have the acting experience to be the villain. Not to mention, both actresses have not done any major villain characters. Heck, give Bernice a try. Or if they simply want someone fresh, why not try Selena Li, Natalie Tong, etc. I have a feeling her performance as a "wet girl" in Gem of Life is probably going to annoy me rather than amazed me like what Shirley did in BOL, or even Leila to some extent in LMS.

I think it's reasonable why Tavia fans do not like Linda. I can not see for the heck of it why she is leading over Tavia in any serie or is leading lady at all. In acting skills, acting experience, charisma, chemistry with partners, screen presence, and even beauty, Tavia reigns far more supreme over Linda. Hopefully, Linda takes a long vacation from acting or focus on her music career after Gem of Life. :::shudder::: I could just see TVB pairing her up with Gallen Lo in the future. TVB is like running amok these days. I am starting to think they are somewhat working like EEG now. TVB needs to know that slowly promoting their stars is what made their past stars so well-known and loved. It's not always about promoting who you want quickly and that person would make it.

No one really mentioned that they hate Linda because of Tavia. The most they said about it was that it was unfair that Linda got a bigger role than Tavia. But even if she didn't, we would still hate Linda! And this has nothing to do with Tavia, please don't drag her into this.

There are many more reasons than just her having a bigger role than Tavia, you know.

1) She's ugly. OMG, I have no idea how she won MCI. Honestly, she's not like stunningly beautiful or anything like that.

2) She totally CAN NOT ACT. And I have seen barely any improvement.

3) She's overpromoted. Why is she being more promoted than those who have potential, like Leila Tong or Nancy Wu?!

I hated Linda since 2 years ago. Just because some are Tavia fans but they do have a reason. I mean how can Linda Chungs face, acting, and voice lead in HOG?! Linda can't even talk right! Her voice is damn annoying.

Well, I think she's ok. I admit that she didn't act well in VOHII, but that was her first time on screen. Besides, she's improving now, the result of her effort and hardworking are visible in Heart of Greed. And she looks pretty and cute. ^^
About her voice, she can't do anything against it.. Charmaine Sheh for example she also had 'this' voice, but it's become better now. I think Linda can also do it (H)

i found her quite annoyin in Always ready but started liking her in Heart of Greed. her character is very likeable there although she cried in almost every episode. Her song with Raymond is good. shes not a bad actress for her age.

I agree w/ you on that one. I totally dislike Linda Chung. I don't understand why TVB continues to promote her and thinks she has any talent whatsoever. I can't believe they even put her in female lead role or singing opportunities. Man her voice sounds horrible. Did anyone see her in "Always Ready"? She cries and whines like a baby. Wow, quite a lot of "Linda haters". How can you hate someone when you don't really know that person? I wouldn't say I hate her but her acting does need some improvement. I wonder if she has taken any acting courses or not yet? I've only watched a couple of her series and she seemed okay in them that's why I said she needed more acting guidance. When Charmaine first came out, her acting sucks too so give her a chance.

As for her looks, at certin angles, she looks quite pretty(well my own opinion anyways). She's not the prettiest of the newcomers but hey at least she won the Vancouver Pageant so this meant something.

...Even though Canadians should stand up for Canadians, I really hate Linda. I read news on her that said for one simple scene in HOG, she had 20 NG's, cause poor Raymond to get bored. And then another time where she had a scene with Moses, and she had a lot of NG's as well. If she's having so many bloody NGs, maybe they shouldn't give her so many scenes! VOH2 was the only 'small' role she had, i think. Then she springed to be main character (Forsenic Heroes). Even if i watch HK series viet dubbed, i an still tell that she OVER-ACTS. Soemthing bout her face doesn't match either, but she was born that way so i shall not touch on that part. She is getting way to overpromoted, and she's not using the chance to show she is a good actor. I mean, in the scene with Moses, after having NGs, the director gave the people a break, and she sat there talking on the phone and sending SMS's, instead of looking over her script. I also heard she got the title "King of NGs". Why is sh getting so many roles and opportunities. I mean, Leilas a good actress, Nancy Wu is a good actress, why arent they getting the chances that Linda is?

Hmm... my comments on Linda: (no offense to fans...)

1. She is NOT pretty... well atleast to me she isn't...

2. Over-promoted, and that's a fact.

3. Her acting is average =X IMO, they said she improved a lot in HOG, but I thought she was only alright in it, not to mention she still can't cry(read in the news she had to use eye drops and she NG's a lot, and don't tell me she's still a beginner, because she's been in the industry for a while now -.-)

I think it's kinda unfair for Linda, how TVB is promoting her like crazy. Yes, she should be able to reject, but then again, it's not that easy... she's still a newbie. I don't think stuffing her with different roles will make her improve any faster... she has been in a lot of series but she hasn't really been improving that much. TVB should let her take a break... so she can get a private tutor to teach her some acting skills, or maybe just practicing by herself.

Like for example... you get a new instrument. Your teacher tells you to practice 30 minutes for 4 days. But instead you practice for 2 hours in one day. Which one is more effective? 30 minutes for 4 days, or 2 hours in a day? The answer is obviously 30 minutes for 4 days because you know... it just works better that way. You can absorb the skills slowly each day, rather than having to force yourself to practice for 2 hours in one day. You won't get anything in your head because it's just too much for a beginner to learn.

I hope this is understandable. Try to look on both sides of things, not just the one predictable side. Yes we all know that she is over-promoted, her voice is soft and annoying, her acting is not good, and she isn't that pretty. She is a bit like Charmaine in the beginning, and look how Charmaine turned out to be. She's now praised by everyone around her and she is much prettier than when she first started. Well I'm not saying I like her though.

I was reading some of the posts here and while I too, find Linda's voice rather annoying I laugh at the fact that some people just scream out "OMG SHE LIEK TOT4LLI D0ES NOT DESERVE MCI!!!11" I've watched both MCV and MCI and she had some of the most intelligent answers ever. It's also about smarts and internal beauty, people... or else every year the pageant could just be a contest for flower vases. As for her beauty on the outside, I personally find her quite pretty, and so do many but there's always a minority for everything that thinks negative.

I'm no fan of Linda's acting just like most of you, but her performance in "Heart of Greed" definitely is a sign of great improvement.

Reason 1: Overpromotion

Tvb is overpromoting her so much, it's having a negative effect of us viewers. Just because she is some MCI she doesn't need to receive that much attention. But, she is still kind of low profile and not 'hieu'.

Reason 2: "chicken voice"
Her voice is so squeaky. she sounds like a little chick when she talks. Stephy sounds better then her.

Reason 3: HORRIBEL ACTING
GOD, Forensic Heroes was SO bad. Literally, she RUINED the series. Her over-acting and pretending to be cute killed it. OMG I have nightmares cuz her 'ding-ding' role is just horrible. Horrible horrible HORRIBLE HORRENDUS, ACK.... HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Always Ready was bad too!!!


HOWEVER:
I liked her in HOG. She was more natural, and her crying scenes were pretty decent. I don't like how people bash her for HOG. IMO, she wasn't bad in HOG at all.
About Tavia fans hating Linda. I used to love Tavia, but now I don't like her as much. It's just that if we support one actress, we probably won't support their enemies, just like this scenario, but please don't assume that all Tavia fans will hate Linda.

Stop bashing Linda, she's a real nice girl who isn't 'Hieu' or 'Chuen'. She still maintains a good personallity and she continues to improve a lot. I'm probably going to get yelled at, but I found her acting better then Tavia/Bosco in HOG.

I'm not a fan of Linda, but I'm not a Linda hater either. I prefer her in more cutesy roles rather than dramatic ones. I don't like her facial expressions sometimes. But Linda is acceptable and I can watch her series but its not like I would watch it for her. I think she is cute sometimes but sometimes during a close up in my opinion she isn't as attractive. Her nose and lips to me isn't the most attractive features I've seen, But then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder so whatever.

And it does suck that TVB play favorites and obviously Linda is one of them. But those who are complaining that its unfair towards Tavia, I have to slightly disagree. Tavia had just as much series as Linda did last year and this year, granted she wasn't the lead. But Linda and Tavia had more series than Shirley, Charmaine, Myolie, and Gigi (who I believe are currently being promoted...esp. Charmaine). So they are still getting a lot of exposure. It's unfair to others who are just as hard-working, but I guess thats how show business works.

why are we dragging Tavia into this thread? lolz but if you say Tavia has more series for sure I agree Tavia's been in plenty but I'm talking about quality roles not just quantity. Cameos appear in heaps of series so are they promoted by TVB? I'm just trying to point something out that's all.

Really, Linda fans/supporters are under misconception it's Tavia fans hating Linda because of Linda leading over Tavia in HOG. As a fan I'm just disgruntled about TVB's decisions. I would be perfectly contented if someone say Yoyo is leading over Tavia or Gigi is leading over Tavia because of their experience and status in the industry. Linda's acting is just not up to that level and that's where the disagreement comes in. If Linda was better in acting than Tavia I'm perfectly fine with the arrangement. Tavia fans is just expressing WHY Linda doesn't deserve to be leading over Tavia. Not saying they all hate Linda...
