Back to the age question. I'm not sure if it's been clarified or not yet, but I think the profile in the first page is wrong. According to other sites and according to TVB, Liu Yi Fei is only 19 this year, but her birthday hasn't past yet, so she is technically only 18 right now, meaning her birthday should be in 1987 and NOT 1986.

and her b-day is comin up in few weeks wish i can give her sumthing as for one of hes supportin fans out there and yea few diff sites for LYF that her birthday is showed up worng.

I read many news on her and none says she is going to Stanford. I don't really think so as she just started on her career and she will be too bz to study. And also, she only studied in US up to her age of 14 and don't think she qualifies for stanford.

Crystal Liu Yifei was born on 25th of August , 1987 in Wuhan, China. She is a Chinese actress and singer. Although she is often credited as Liu Yi Fei (Traditional Chinese: 劉亦菲; Simplified Chinese: 刘亦菲), her legal name is Liu Qian Mei Zi (Traditional Chinese: 劉茜美子; Simplified Chinese: 刘茜美子), while her birth name is An Feng (Traditional Chinese: 安風; Simplified Chinese: 安风).

Yifei's father was a university professor while her mother was a dancer and a stage performer. They divorced when she was seven years old. After her parents' divorce, Yifei lived with her mother, Liu Xiao Li (刘晓莉) and her name was changed to Liu Qian Mei Zi.

She began modelling at the age of eight and was trained in singing, dancing and piano. At the age of eleven, she moved to the United States of America with her mother. She lived there for four years and obtained an American citizenship. She returned to China in June 2002 to pursue an acting career and adopted her stage name Liu Yi Fei. In September 2002, she was accepted into the Performance Institute of Beijing Film Academy at the age of 15, making her the youngest student the school has ever had. I really think Liu Yi Fei is really cute and her voice is very good when she sings. She did well acting in the series Return of the Condor Heroes as Little Dragon Girl. I hope to see more of her acting soon .

P.s. I checked out on some website and it says she is 19 years old, born in 1987. So I think you should change the year .

I read a report comparing Yi Fei's dance style with Jolin Tsai's dance style saying that the two are quite similar. The report is not putting down Yi Fei, it's just saying that her style looks similar to Jolin's.

The clip below says that Yi Fei's dance choreographer is the same is Jolin's, and it's said that he thinks that Yi Fei's dancing skill is better than Jolin's, but I think we'll have to see when the actual MV comes out.

But, personally, I don't think the "sexy" image fits Yi Fei too much. I like her more with the elegant, cute, pretty image.

i know she is an actress, didnt know she's also a singer. Must listen to her song, btw she looks really cute.

I just listened to her Mandarin ablum songs, mainly were fast and catchy songs which I like
But I think her dance [in those pics] reminds me of Jolin's dancesteps.
I'm not saying that Yi Fei copied Jolin's but i wonder, why are those dance steps so popular?
I too, prefer her when she has those elegant and innocent look, I prefer it when she doesn't put on heavy make-up

I also listened to her Mandarin album, but I only liked two of the 10 songs, and those two are the only two "fast" songs. Her "cute" songs are okay, but her slow songs aren't that good. I think she should focus on fast songs because she sings better with them.

Yi Fei has the voice quality and potential to be a singer, but she really needs to work on her lung capacity and the strength/power in her vocal/voice. As for feelings/emotion in her singing, hopefully more singing experience and life experience can help her on that. Though she's still young, only 19, so she has tons of time to improve.

As for why her dance steps are kind of similar to Jolin's is because, I actually explained it up above, they have the same dance teacher.

Actually i just listened to her Album today, i wasn't expecting much but i must say it was pretty damn good.

comparing both her album, i think the japanese album is much better though it only have 2 songs.

According to her in the interview, she said she might look different in this album but this is her true self. She's not going into any sexy image and never thought of it. The reason she says she dress this way is because she's still young and most girls like to wear skirts and ect....making her look more youthful...

She dance well because she has been learning dancing since she's young. her mother is a dance instructor (what else to expect?) haha.....she admit that her speciality is dancing more than acting or singing...

Sometimes it's not liking or disliking a style. But it's rather thinking which style fits Yi Fei more. I personally think that the cute, innocent image fits her more than the sexy image. Though from the clip of her filming her MV, her dancing is pretty good, but I can't truely judge it by just that, we'll have to see the real MV. Though I do like her fast/hip-hop songs more than those slow and "cute" songs.

I guess every artistes have to try more styles to see which styles she suits the best

she's going to attend stanford and focus more on her education. her manager stated that lyf will do one more album/movie for the next 3 years. we will not see her in a series until 3 years later. she'll be 22 by then...and that's still a long way for her. some people started out when they're 21 as amateur...but lyf will start out at 22 with a little more experience.
