Well, it really depends on how one defines beauty.

Personally, Carmen is a rare beauty with pure natural prettiness that even til today, not a lot of Chinese female artists have matched up to.

LYF is pretty but yet is lessened when she smiles and in modern clothes. Um, not to stir things here since I can see that a lot of you are LYF advocates. LYF is elegant and very innocent looking but I wouldn't proclaim her as being one of the most beautiful and angels China has to offer. I've seen plenty of Chinese girls who are just as pretty as her at my university and the places I've traveled to but they just aren't interested in the ET industry but to say that I've seen a Carmen Lee status female..no I haven't.

And plus a lot of the pictures we're comparing now of Carmen and LYF aren't entirely fair. The old pictures of Carmen are low quality, the makeup was much different, and just everything has changed. Carmen is also not as photogenic as LYF. So one can't just judge based on pictures or the past serials of Carmen when she was portraying Xiao Long Nu.

But nonetheless can't wait to watch LYF because she does match these mature type characters.

I've noticed that most of people who chose Carmen over Crystal are from Asia. While people from the States chose Crystals. I guess we have different taste and I'm not saying you're from Asia. Plus, it seem the older generation prefer Carmen.

I did a simple survey with my friends. I know it doesn't mean anything but I wanted to see the results. I asked 10 guys and 4 girls. Some are fans of ROCH.

8 guys say LYF looks better and 3 girls say LYF as Xiao Long Nu.

Then I asked the 10 guys which they want to have as a girlfriend...having Carmen the same age as LYF at 18. ALL 10 GUYS CHOSE LYF.

Carmen at age 18 compared to LYF now if you were to compare through pictures still would not be able to measure who is prettier because an old picture of Carmen when the makeup, clothes, and quality was so behind compared to today's top technology in LYF's photos, of course everyone would most likely choose LYF. But if you could really reduce Carmen's age back to 18 and have recent shoots of her or increase LYF's age to Carmen's current age then that would be an interesting poll.

LYF is pretty, I'm not implying that she isn't but just on a personal basis, I don't think she is extraordinaryly beautiful. A lot has to do with her beautiful ancient clothes, high quality makeup, and amazing filmography. And a lot also involves mass promotions and props that are really booming LYF's popularity. My older cousin has seen Carmen in person before and says that she is extremely beautiful, that the cameras don't do her justice but hm that was some ages ago though.

Oh...and I'm from the States...same age as LYF.

Tian Long Ba Bu, Legend of Condor Hero, Return of Condor Hero, Heavenly Sword Dragon Sabre. All four series were written by Jin Yong. He's a 80+ years old man now.

Tian Long Ba Bu storyline is not related to LOCH, ROCH, or HSDS.

LOCH, ROCH, HSDS storyline are connected to each other.

LOCH is about Yang Guo's father/mother...his uncle/aunt.

ROCH is about Yang Guo/Xiao Long Nu.

HSDS is 200+ years after ROCH. Zhang Wuji is the main characters. 4 girls fell in love with him. Yang Guo great grand daughter appears sometime and help out Zhang Wuji.

iheartu...I don't think you watch LOCH, ROCH, or HSDS...but did you watch TLBB? It's the one with Jimmy Lin and LYF.

Oh... actually i was talking to Anastasia... because she said she wanted to buy Xian Jian. Haha... it's okay... for me... I did something really stupid that i have colleceted like THREE boxset of Xian Jian series....

1. I burnt the vcds from my fren who did record from the tv when XJ was airing on CTV at the very first time, yea... it's Taiwanese Version ( back then, Xian Jian VCD was not realeased yet in my country )
2. i bought the original VCD ( costed NT$1000 - for 34 episodes )
3. I bought the pirated DVD ( costed NT$180 - 38 episodes ) [ p.s : I thought 38 ep is different with 34 ep version... so i bought it..... )

my fave version is the Taiwanese version... i don't know why... but i really like the ending video clips of very episodes!!!! It's quite different with the offical version though....

I'll capture some screencaps later than show you guys what's the difference between those two version.

and guess watt!!! I finally bought the OUTSIDERS ( I+II ) juz now!!!!!!!! WHEEEE~ Can see Ady again!!!!

Ell86...did you know that there's an alternate ending and some missing scenes to this series? The director cut some part of Yue Ru's scene after she died. I think the director didn't want Li Xiao Yao to focus on Yue Ru's death as much as Ling'er. But maybe...the director is planning to make a sequel since Yue Ru revived from the dead. I hope there's a part two. Originally, there were 40 episodes total but they cut it to 38.

I have the outsiders 1/2 but never had the chance to watch it. People say it's good.

My g/f look through my computer see pictures of LYF and Ady's but doesn't care. She tells me..." As long as your not looking at naked girls...I'll be okay with it. Plus, you'll never have a chance with these girls. " True, I'll never have a chance with these girls.
