Does anyone have pictures of the taiwanese actor/actress that's going to be in the next ROCH? I want to see how they look like. I dont know why they're making one so soon. Plus, they're competing with Mainland's production. Mainland China so far does the best wuxia series. Taiwanese are good with modern series.

HXM and LYF are the only actor/actress that received $1000US per episode for ROCH.

Originally 52 episodes but it was cut down to 44. Both actors received $52,000 each from this series. They finished the series within 6 months.

Patty Hou & Rain to act in <Legend of the Condor Heroes>? - Taiwan Apple Daily 12.12.2005

Patty Hou will be trying out her hand in her virgin drama role, and it's rumored that Rain will be the male lead. Such a fresh combination, but they are not going to act in an idol drama, instead it's going to be the classic - <Legend of the Condor Heroes>. As understood, Asia Plus has already approached Jin Yong regarding copyright issues, and if everything goes smoothly, the filming will start next year, at the earliest.

The "Jin Yong" craze is hitting Asia once again. China's Central Channel will be showing <Legend of the Condor Heroes>, starring Huang Xiaoming & Liu Yifei during the new year period next year, and now, Asia Plus has too jumped on the wagon and laid their eyes on the same script. It is said that they have approached Jin Yong regarding copyright issues, as well as laid out that their leads will be Patty Hou (27 years old) and Rain (23 years old), between which the 4 year age difference is similar to the 6-7 years gap between the 2 leads in the novel.

But when we approached Asia Plus regarding the authenticity of this information, they replied rather cautiously that they have plans to film this drama, and that they are still discussing the copyright issues. Only after they have obtained the necessary copyright, then will they decide on the lead actors. They have not approached Rain as of yet.

If Asia Plus manages to obtain the copyright with HKD$1 million (approx NT$4.2 million), Korea will be the filming location. Other than making it easier for Rain, they have also considered that in the past (when they did filming for period dramas in China), flight transfers alone take up half the day, and it'll be most convenient for Patty, who has to juggle her hosting job in taiwan, to fly straight to Korea. Also, recently, the "Taiwan craze" and "Hallyu wave" is pretty popular in Japan, and this combination too takes into consideration of the Japanese's willingness to purchase foreign films/dramas. Actors from Japan & Hongkong have been targetted for the other roles.

With regards to acting out "Xiao Long Nu", Patty Hou said: "Sure! I will not insist on taking on any specific role, just as long as the role is good. If I really am acting as Xiao Long Nu, I hope that the script will be completely different from the past typical romance script, but rather more on the comical side just like the rental couple in the movie <Kung fu>. Only then will it leave a deep impression on the audience."

Rain doesnt even suit yang guo's role!! Patty also dont have xiao long nv's look.. yi fei is better than her!

It's a happy ending. Yay, after all the suffering and pain they both endured, this serial is one of the most touching, romantic, and pure true love legends I have ever watched. I mean, who on earth (considering that YG is extremely handsome, hot, talented, intelligent, and perfect) would remain loyally single waiting for the only he ever loved XLN for 16 years?? And in addition, attempts suicide for his loss. Wow, that's what you call crazy and crazy defines love so honestly.

The only parts I didn't like in particular are the rape ordeal and the armless yet still good looking YG. I felt that those misfortunes were way too much even though it does make the story better in that NOTHING, not even death, illness, impurity, or anything went between them. They still kept their beautiful, unconditional, and lovely chemistry against all odds.

AH, I love this serial. I'm so excited for the release. LYF and HXM are so lovely.
