I've been watching alot of shounen club latley on youtube n i just loove it, so i thought i'd start a thread

i actaully have NHK World but i havn't seen it on and i've searched up the schedules and stuff but it's just not on the tv ><"..can anyone tell me when it's on plzz?

lol i find shounen club really funny. especially eps lk mr.x

shounen club airs twice a month. each an hour each. i actually download mine through bittorrent. xD

i like the old format of SC. the new format is not so great for me and it's probably because i don't understand a word so a lot of talking is no fun for me. if only there were translations.

i have to say that NEWS produced SCs' were my fave because of course i love NEWS. also whenever K8 comes on it's an added bonus no matter if it's NEWS or KAT-TUN produced.

oh one thing i have to say is that another reason why i loved SC (the old version) because i get to see Question perform. this is the only time that i get to see them. they are hardly on YaYaYah show so i get to see them as the band of one of the groups performing or they'd be performing themselves. i <3 Question.

lately i've been thinking that Koyama has been looking very stylishly sexy hosting SCs.


ryopilover the old format is what is being showed now. they were going to change it because of NEWS going on hiatus when they were suppose to produce so they had some Tokio members do more of a talk show hosting like oprah or ellen type of show. well i'm glad they decided not to do that.

ava_adore check out the Mr. X clips, they're pretty good. i liked the ones where Mr X was Ryo and Yuto. you can just go on youtube and you'll find them.

i have a question... is Question? a part of JE? ... at first i thought they were just playing in SC as a band , but in 10/08/06 SC .. they actually got a solo performing 'bitter-ender' (and they did it great ^^) .. so i wonder..


ava-chan : u should see some shonen club... they're great, and most of the perf. by KT and NewS are actually from SC ( ones that u see fangirls on the backgroung of the stage clapping their hands ). im sure u already watched it before .. but just not knowing it =)

Luna_p yes Question is a part of JE but i don't think they get much time on screen. they don't even get much photoshoot time either. oh well, i think they usually perform every other SC. i think they perform exceptionally well each time they get to come on. my favorite song of theirs that they've performed is Holy Heaven. it's so beautiful plus Daijiro, Yoshihara, and Daisuke each get to sing a verse in Holy Heaven. great voices and all of Question are good looking.

i really think Question has potential if they were to debut.

u sure love them... and yah i just discovered that they're actually pretty good looking, since we don't see their face much before =( (the cam filmed mostly on their instruments..)

and i got another question popup... so is Joey Tee a part of Jhonny's ><? he gets to perform in SC but i think he's in another company... still a lil doubt..

yea i think Joey Tee is in JE. he just joined this year. Joey Tee is actually cute but his style is not so great, in my opinion. his rapping is pretty good.


i'm so excited for the SC in December because Subaru (from Kanjani8) will be hosting one of the SC. this will be like the new format. i think it's called Shounen Club Premium. newho, Kanjani8 will also be performing too. yay i get to see Ryo too.

i love the one on 0ct 8 with masuda performing akatsuki! and koyama performing aoi inazuma. hotness! xDD

duffie yahh was nice ..Massu was performing Akatsuki and he was wearing the same shoes as i xD and the part when he tryed to show Hikaru how to play invisible drums was soooo funniii haha ..

i think someone told me that SCP is usually hosted by one of the Tokio guys but i guess subaru will host one of the december one. i think they interview celebrities but i'm not sure if it's just JE celebrities or others outside of JE too. also a JE group or person performs a song(s).

you can get recent SCs at jpopsuki tracker (a bittorrent site) and i think there are communities on livejournal.com where they upload JE shows like SC or Arashi shows or K8 shows and etc. they are all direct downloads (like on sendspace or megaupload). i think lj is the best place to look for SC tho.

[Translation] SC with Kattun & Kanjani 8

Here is an episode from Shounen Club (don't exactly know the date, but I'm pretty sure it's right before or after the episode where they did the East vs. West manzai battle) when K8 and KAT-TUN did Jr. High School. KAT-TUN was visiting Osaka, and for their "Social Studies" lesson, they are going to learn how to use Osaka-ben from the K8 boys. Subaru and Maru are hilarious, as usual.

Ding Dong (The bell rings and Hina, the teacher, and the students come out)
Hina: Japanese, Math, Science, and Social Studies... this is where we improve the inifinite possibilities that the Junior boys have. It's called, JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL!
Boys: Wooo hooo!
Hina: Let me introduce you to our students today. From KAT-TUN: Kamenashi-kun, Akanishi-kun, Taguchi-kun, Koki-kun, and Nakamaru-kun!
KAT-TUN: Hello!
Akanishi: Be careful... then sit. (*Let me explain... In Japan, we have four steps to follow when starting a class. Step one is "Kiritsu," which means to stand up, usually when the teacher comes in to the room. Step two is "Ki wo tsuke," which means to stand straight. "Rei," is to bow toward the teacher and "Chakuseki" is to sit down. In this case, what Akanishi is saying is "Ki wo tsukete," which means "to be careful." It sounds a lot like Step two, but it's not; they're trying to be funny by "being careful" before sitting... you get what I mean?)
KAT-TUN: (Pretends to be careful of things falling from the ceiling... then sits)
Hina: Thank you very much. Now from the Osaka school, Shibutani-kun, Yokoyama-kun, Yasuda-kun and Maruyama-kun!
K8: HELLO!
Yoko: Be shy... then sit. (*Like the one above, Yoko said "Hani kande," which sounds like "Ki wo tsuke" of Step two. This was actually really funny, haha. "Hani kande" means "to be shy.")
K8: (They all give their "shy" expression, then sit down.)
Hina: Hahaha, aren't they good at these kinds of things? Alright. Today's lesson is Social Studies. Title is: "Let's experience Kansai!!"
K8&KAT-TUN: Yaaaay!!
Hina: I'm going to introduce you to some common situations that you see in Kansai. I want you to act the scenes out, trying to use Kansai-ben (dialect) as much as possible. Whoever was the best actor will be our Most Valuable Student of the day. Okay? Alright. The first theme is this: "Let's beat out the price! Ask for a bargain!" Okay, Subaru, you do the person at the store. KAT-TUN will be the customers... Nakamaru, you're the father; Akanishi, you're the mother; and Koki, you're their kid. Pretend that Subaru is a sales clerk at an electronics store. Imagine that there are a lot of products right out here on this table. Okay?
All: Okay!
Hina: I'm sure it's pretty hard just to do it out of the blue, so Yasuda-kun!
Yasu: Yes, yes!
Hina: Can you give KAT-TUN some advice on how to ask for a bargain?
Yasu: First of all, you should become good friends with the clerk. Talk a lot.
Hina: Hmm I see. Be friendly with them.
Nakamaru: Okay, gotcha.
Hina: Keep that in mind... good luck! Okay, here we go! Start!
Akanishi: Honey, I want a microwave.
Nakamaru: Oh do you?
Koki: Ooo daddy mommy! Please get me this! (In good Osaka-ben, haha) I want this! How much is it?
Nakamaru: How much is this?
Subaru: This? 20-yen. (LOL)
Nakamaru: What!! That's too cheap!! Haha, we don't need to ask for a bargain!!
Koki: Alright, alright how about this?
Nakamaru: Yeah, how about this one?
Subaru: That? 50-yen.
Nakamaru: Hahaha that's too cheap! It's like a candy store...
Akanishi: That's a huge bargain!! (Sorry, I can't really tell which voice belongs to which KAT-TUN member, haha)
Koki: Then how about this one? How much?
Subaru: That one is 100-yen.
Koki: Oh, then let's get this one.
Nakamaru: Okay, alright honey, let's get this one.
Akanishi: Hold on, hold on... (looks into his... her lol purse) ...Oh nooo, I forgot my wallet! (Haha, sounds pretty cute when he said that)
Nakamaru: Oh no...
Koki: I only have 20-yen.
Nakamaru: Then we should ask the clerk to bring this down to 20-yen...
Subaru: If you have 20, why don't you get that 20-yen one. (Very good point, Subaru lol)
Koki: Nooo, but I want this one! This one!
Subaru: Huh? You can't get this, it's 100-yen.
Koki: But daddy, I only have 20-yen...
Nakamaru: Koki, you have to become good friends with him!
Koki: Friends... I have to be friends?
Subaru: This is 100-yen.
Koki: Umm... can you tell me your phone number?
Subaru: Sure.
Nakamaru: Haha, it's okay?
Koki: Then... let's be friends.
Subaru: Sure.
Hina: ...THE END!!!! (KAT-TUN failed miserably to beat the annoying store clerk, Subaru lol)
Koki: It's impossible! They're all on a huge sale!!!
Hina: Hahaha, let me tell you, even we (=Kansai people) can't ask for a bargain at this price, haha.
Subaru: Well it was a clearance sale. Our store was going out of business.
Hina: Oh, you guys were closing?
Subaru: Yeah, we lost our business.
Hina: I guess there was a really specific background to this setting, hahaha.
Koki: Oh... haha we didn't know...
Hina: Yasu, you were saying friends... what did you think of their performance?
Yasu: If they had talked a bit more with him, it might have worked.
Yoko: But I thought their Kansai-ben was really smooth.
Yasu: Yeah, Koki was real good.
Subaru: Yeah, it didn't feel awkward.
Hina: It wasn't bad at all. Alright our next theme is this... "Obachan!" (I hope you all know what THIS is by now ) Alright so here's the situation. A guy invited a girl to his house, and he wants to kiss her today, but his mother keeps on bugging them. How would you find a way to kiss her without your mom getting in the way? Here are the characters... the son is Kamenashi-kun! The girl is Taguchi-kun! And the mom is Maruyama-kun! (you can see already that it's going to be hilarious lol) Alright guys, get ready. Yoko, do you have any advice?
Yoko: Well, the audience here today are all from Osaka. So they know what Kansai Obachans are like. The hurdle is set real high for this one!
Hina: Good luck guys. How confident are you in the language?
Kame: Yeah, so so.
Hina: Nice, how about you, Taguchi-kun?
Taguchi: Me? I was born in Nagoya... (they use a similar dialect to Osaka)
Kame: (slaps his head) shh!!
Hina: Haha, you tied your hair and everything, you're all set to go aren't you! Alright, the theme is "Obachan." Let's start!
Kame: Hey, look at this. This is "Kame's Love Album" (don't ask me lol) It has my pictures from long time ago, too.
Taguchi: Aww, your album? Oh look, you're so cuuute.
Kame: Oh really?
Taguchi: Really <3 (So girly, haha)
Kame: Hold on, I want to eat some snacks... (reaches over him... her and in the process, hugs her)
Taguchi: Oh, okay... (flirty music) I'm so shy, haha...
(They stare at each other and start to share a snack... until... lol)
Maru: .........AYE!!!!!! (no one else can perform such a great obachan)
Kame: Mom! What are you doing here!
Maru: You two... what were you up to, hmmmmm???
Kame: What, we weren't doing anything... umm... we were eating a snack.
Taguchi: Kame's mother... how are you doing?
Maru: Yes, mother is fine......... (keeps on banging that thing he's holding lol) My neighbors say that I always look young, haaaaa...
Kame: Mom... can you leave us alone?
Maru: Dinner's readyyyy....... dinner issss... Ohhh, you were looking through your album! Ohh brings back good memories!
Kame: Yeah it does, yeah... mom, you know what, go! Can you go?
Maru: But honey, we have a guest......
Kame: Yeah, that's fine, go!
Maru: #%"'#&"$%#&"'# (Like I said before, it's impossible to translate Maru's 'sounds' lol)
Kame: Mom! Your dinner is boiling! Go stop the gas! It's boiling!
(Maru pulls the "door" up, then down... they sure got a weird door in their house, hahaha)

Taguchi: Wow, haha that was a surprise.
Kame: Sorry, I'm real sorry.
Taguchi: It's okay.
Kame: Hey, why don't you lay down? This pillow's really comfortable.
Taguchi: Can I? Really? (weird music again) Hey... why are you going away?
(Maru appears from behind)
Maru: AYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kame&Taguchi: WHOA!!!! (They looked really surprised, hahaha)
Hina: Haha, that Mom!! Haha what the hell are you doing!!
Maru: You kids... what were you doing this time???
Kame: No... this...
Maru: Shhhhhhhh.... (whispers to Taguchi) what were you doing??
Taguchi: Hm? Well...
Maru: You were doing something... awkward... that's why you can't tell me... no???????? (the way he's talking is more like hissing, haha)
Kame: Mom, that's enough.
Maru: Dinner's ready alreadyyyyy..... it's boilingggg.......... yeah.........
Hina: ...LOL THE ENDDD!!!!! (Once again, KAT-TUN was a no-match for K8 ) That was good, that was good. Great acting by Maru. That was tough. Thank you guys! Okay, Kanjani... pick the Most Valuable Student of the day here. Yoko! Please announce the winner!
Yoko: It is definitely Taguchi-kun.
Hina: Ohhh!!
Taguchi: Really?
Yoko: Well let me explain. Taguchi did so much to be a girl, but Maru took all the laughs away from him. Nothing can replace this sadness.
Taguchi: HAHAHA
Hina: Haha, that is kinda unfortunate...
Yoko: He was working so hard on his Kansai-ben, and no one picked it up for him! What the hell was the purpose of this skit, is my question!
Hina: Haha, you're right. Maru was all about himself...
Yoko: It was all MARU in that one! That's why, Taguchi-kun is the winner!
Hina: Gotcha, so the winner for today is Taguchi-kun!!!

I usually watched it on TV on NHK even though i don't know what the hell they are talking about.. (it's Japanese and i'm taking Jap but i still don't catch it LOL) But most of the time, I missed it or another program replaced it... once i wanted to watch shounen club.. and in the end, i find myself watching a singing contest with many young little japanese kids. lol. but kinda cute. ><

i just watched the SC xmas special and it was ok. nakamaru and koyama (who were great) hosted and talked with jrs. tackey, junno,and ueda (who were all great) were guests. the performance that were on were just old perfs from old SCs. none of the perfs had NEWS (as a group) as would be expected but it still sucks that they didn't show NEWS. it totally sucked. last year's xmas was great because NEWS hosted and stuff.

one great thing was that Akun Igo from the group Question was shown on the Jr Question segment. also more Question.

I used to watch Shounen Club until... they changed the whole timing and schedule x.x'' Now I have no idea when it's showing... The last time I watched it.. it was on a Sunday night.. then after that... I couldn't seem to catch it.. cos the timing was all over the place. X= watched it NHK. and it sux big-time without subtitles... LOL. can't understand... (probably one of the reasons why i'm learning jap now) and still find it funny even though I don't know what's the joke about X=

2 years ago.. was like catching it every Saturday night.. but for 2 nights in a row.. I didn't get to watch it... some singing contest was shown instead x.x'' but erm.. still enjoyable.. still better than nothing. lolx.

there are plenty of english subbed SCs out there, jsut search into veoh for whole eps, or youtube will give you plenty of clips
