The title of "worst ratings of TVB productions aired in prime time 2004" goes to "The Vigilante In the Mask", starring Deric Wan. It scored only 26 points on average, which means about 1.71 viewers tuned in. The second worst is "Dream of Colours", starring Myolie Wu and Rain Li. Its average number was 26.8 points.

"Split Second", the co-production with Thailand, did not live up to the expectations. Another grand production "Blade Heart" also failed miserably, although it starred veteran actors such as Liza Wang and Adam Cheng. "Split" and "Blade" share the third worst title, as both averaged 27 points.

Rain Li Choi Wa and Universe new comer Zhao Xuefei have been working on the Mainland series CHIU KWUN CHOOK CHOI. Because the location was far away and the schedule was unstable Li Choi Wa often missed her meal time. Thus she and Xuefei constantly went grocery shopping. Also, nearby fashion and undergarment stores also became Rain's target. "I don't dare to shop in Hong Kong. The prices are so low here, if I don't get them now when will I? I also got to play rich and bought everything."

Since signing with Universe, Rain's finances improved. After the series she will work on the film GWAI WIK (GHOST TERRITORY) in Bangkok Thailand.

Steven Ma was in Hengdian earlier to guest star in a "Universal" mainland production of "The Exile of Lady Wang". Steven is making a guest performance in the character of 'Wang Mang', working opposite veteran Mainland actors including Tang Guo Qiang and Sun Chun, making him very excited to be able to share acting experiences with them. The production company treated their artistes well and whilst in Hengdian, Steven was accommodated in a top class hotel and also worked with an extremely professional cast and crew, leaving him very relaxed and able to improve his acting abilities.

This series stars Gallen Lo and Rain Li and in the show, Steven will have a romantic lead with Rain's 'Lady Wang' character and be working closely with her, but will not have any scenes with Gallen. He says: "It is very strange, Gallen has worked at TVB for over twenty years and I have been with them for eleven but we have never worked together before and now we are in the same series but still do not get to fullfil our wish to co-operate." Steven hopes that there will be a day when they can get together and make a good show.

Universal have put a lot of emphasis on this production and during filming, held a special press conference where Gallen, Rain and Steven had a chance to meet the public. Steven has a lot of fans in the area and they not only arrived early brandishing Steven's books and photographs, when Steven handed out bookmarks to them, they fought crazily to get them. As Steven was in his ancient costume, one tug from a fan at his clothes nearly brought him to the ground, but luckily he was caught by a member of the security team and escaped danger. Steven's fans also called out: "Steven, you are so good looking!" making him extremely happy.

Hengdian has become China's largest film and TV production city and whilst he was there, Steven bumped into old friends Daniel Chan and Ewong Yung. "I never thought I would meet so many friends here. Although this is my first time here, it does not feel strange at all and I have a very good impression of the place."

TVB's new series "Master of Kung Fu - Wong Fei Hung" will be airing next Monday after "Kung Fu Soccer" ends and yesterday, a group of cast members including Bosco Wong, Sammul Chan, Rain Li, John Chiang, Winnie Yuen, Akina Hong and Cerina De Graca took part in a promotional event at a martial arts centre in Wong Chuk Hang. As well as taking part in Kung Fu lessons, they also learned how to tackle the Plum Blossom Poles, where Akina was 'stuck to' Bosco throughout. When they had to try the move of standing on the men's thighs, Akina was first to volunteer herself to partner Bosco, leaving female lead Rain with Sammul. Later on, when Akina stepped down, she went to brush the dust off Bosco's thigh, but her hand was quickly pushed away by him. She continued her escapade when the master instructed them to practice their stance and she refused to squat, saying that it was a bad omen.

Bosco has had to shave his head for several shows recently and he laughs that he can't seem to get away from shaven head shows. When asked if he was worried his hair would not grow back after shaving it so much, he laughs he is not afraid but hopes that he can become a fighting star because he is finding this type of show great fun as well as very challenging, so he has plans to go and take martial arts classes. He says: "At first I wanted to learn Thai boxing, but I feel that it is not as useful in my acting, so maybe I will learn Hung Kune or Nam Kune. (Are you not afraid of getting lots of injuries as a fighting star?) Men will not, but of course I don't want any broken legs. Ordinary knocks are okay, it is a small price to pay." Talking of the mediocre ratings of TVB shows lately with all the prime time shows not breaking 30 points, Bosco feels that this is just the trend at the moment, but hopes that his show will do well and reach 30 points.

Sammul is confident with the show's ratings, laughing: "The theme song will be sung by Alan Tam and me, so with a fresh pairing and an upbeat costume drama for the new year, I am not worried about the ratings at all." Sammul also says that as an ambassador for the Red Cross, he will soon be visiting the affected areas of the Tsunami disaster, but he will let the relief workers complete their more urgent work first. He has donated a watch and a camera to the charity auction and he says that we should all do our part and not count too much.

Rain has been in the mainland recently shooting for "The Exile of Lady Wang" and she returned to Hong Kong the night before just to take part in the promotion for "Wong". She will also be filming a skincare ad, and joining another promotional event on Sunday before heading back to China to continue filming. This series should be completed by the beginning of February when she will return to Hong Kong again.

Rain indicates that although she has not been in Hong Kong recently, there have still been some strange occurrences for her, saying that there was a car crash involving a Korean star that shares her English name and when it was reported on the radio, some of her fans thought it was her in the accident and called her and sent her messages asking how she was, leaving her rather amused. As for the skincare ad, it is still the same one as before and she says that she has been the spokesperson for this brand for three or four years now and as they are putting up her fee, it has come as the best New Year present for her.


As "Wong" will be airing straight after "Kung Fu Soccer" that Rain also has a part in, she is very happy that her shows are being aired in succession. She says: "I finished filming this series last year and I really thought it would be left in the stockroom, luckily I don't have to worry about this too much now. (But the ratings weren't so good for 'Kung Fu'?) I have been busy filming in the mainland so I haven't had time to support myself. As long as I have done my best then that is all that matters. (Do you feel that viewers don't like watching television any more?) That is why I will not put any pressure on myself, to have done my best is okay. (Will you film for TVB again?) If there is the chance, then I will, but at the moment I will be concentrating on movies and mainland series."

Cast members from TVB's new series "Master of Kung Fu - Wong Fei Hung" including Rain Li, Bosco Wong, Sammul Chan and Winnie Yeung held a promotional event in Tsuen Wan yesterday and during the show, Rain, Bosco and Sammul could not stop playing around, with Rain even using Bosco's hairpiece to use as a beard.

The cast members then played 'Rock Scissors Paper' in a rather funny scene. Later, Rain laughed: "We are all young people and when I saw his braid falling off, I pulled it and played with it, but he was very sweaty and it made my lips all wet. We also agreed that whoever lost the game would have medical rub put on their nose. We were just trying to work up the atmosphere." As for whether she was worried about raising rumours of a triangular affair, she said seemingly relaxed: "If you count everyone else from before, there are at least ten parties in this love affair! This series is the only one I have made where there have been no rumours at all. I am actually not used to this, so I want some rumours to appear soon!" When asked who she would like to be rumoured with, she says it is hard to choose so the best thing would be to have rumours with both of them and try two-timing for a change. Especially as they each have their own particular smells, Bosco smelling of sweat and Sammul smelling of healing lotion. She also laughs that the rumoured boyfriends are not real as the chosen one will not appear for another ten years yet.

In response to Rain's jokes that she wants to have rumours with them, Bosco laughs: "Choose Sammul, rumours are not suited to me." However, Sammul says: "I should be so excited, I finally have some rumours. I do like straight-talking girls, but as for whether Rain is suited to me, I will have to check if she has a boyfriend first."

Rain also revealed that she was filming for the film "Ghostly Realms" earlier, but their set in Thailand was destroyed by the tsunami, so she does not know whether she will continue filming in Thailand or not. As for Winnie who is four months pregnant, she says that her current series "Revolving Doors of Vengeance" will soon be filming up in Dongguan and was asked if her husband would be worried about her, but she replied: "No, there are lots of colleagues on the series who will look after me and all my scenes are just verbal ones."

Rain Li Choi Wa earlier worked on her skin care ad campaign in Guangzhou. She appeared in science fiction and elegant costumes. On the day of the shoot, Rain did not sleep due to an all night television series shoot. Luckily she was young and got more energetic as she went.

"That day was truly very cold. The crew was great and got me five heaters. After each shot I immediately put the big coat back on, otherwise I could've easily caught a cold."

Rain Li Choi Wa last year signed with a new management company and developed well. She has already gone to perform in America but still remembered to wish everyone smooth sailing with everything and for everyone to get whatever they wish for.

Because Rain had to work aboard, this year she dined with her family early. "In the past Lunar New Years I worked mostly. This year I have to perform in America so I had the Lunar New Year dinner in early February. Although the audience are Chinese viewers, they may be more reserved and don't give laisee. Last year I had pretty good development so this year I will share the joy and give laisee. I wish to make 8 figures in the New Year. I have to aim higher to have a goal to work harder for."

Rain's new advertisement for her rumored boyfriend (Siu Ding Yat)'s slimming company. When shooting, the male photographer wanted better effects so he brushed on some sparkly powder on Rain's legs. Rain Li Choi Wa yesterday attended a trimming company event and gave bottled water to applicants for the fat people recruitment. The event even bought a rickshaw for Rain to ride on. Maria Cordero was also present and Sherming Yiu Lok Yi attended the recruitment elsewhere.

Li Choi Wa was asked whether she would promote like Lee San San. She said, "No, maybe I will wear an undershirt to give everyone some freshness." When working on a series in China, the crew wanted to learn Cantonese but made her character name Wan Doi Doi sound like "Play with Bag".

Rain- Miss Hong Kong 2005 Contestants Good Quality

Yesterday, 20 Miss Hong Kong contestants and Rain Li were at a skin care promotion function. Contestant number 3, Yiu Weng Woon was sick that day, but when facing the reporters, she kept her nice posture and smile. A reporter asked if when sick, is smiling and taking photos to much. Yiu Weng Woon smiled again and said, a good image is vital for each Miss Hong Kong contestant so even if you are sick, you have to smile!

This is the first time Rain has met the Miss Hong Kong contestants, Rain says that she believes that this year’s Miss Hong Kong contestants are good quality. Rain has been busy filming《阿有正傳》 with Lui Xiao Qing and Dicky Cheung. The series is set in the Communist period and Rain will star as an acrobator in a circus. rain was never signed under tvb management. she's a singer and is free to work with whoever she wants. rain did do some tvb series for tvb, but not as one of their managed artists. i don't think she signed with the mainland company either. that way she has no obligations and is free to work with anyone at all. i think its cool that way.

Yesterday, Rain Li and Miki Yeung were at Canmake cosmetics advertisement campaign. Rain who has always gone the sexy road, successfully stole the spotlight today. She went up to touch a male model’s chest area and kissed him on the cheek. Rain was laughing but all Miki could do was stand a side and watch.
