Hi everyone, I'm new to AF...sorta. I used to be a member a long time ago, when I still watched and listened to HK media. About 2 years have passed since then and I want to get back "in the loop" so to speak. I'm a Canto-American, so I don't know what are the latest happenings in HK so I'd like to hear some of your opinions on the new celebs today.

umm....tavia yeung is good!!! shes improving her acting and now starting to do some singing...really good!!! also bernice liu...bosco wong...raymond lam...nancy wu is starting ti improve her acting too...

When I say hottest, I don't mean appearance - just who's popular. That means both popular actors/actresses and musical artists. I really want to watch a new HK movie and listen to a new HK song, but don't know who to listen to...hehe.

I used to listen to HK music a lot (I can't read in Chinese, so it's more like "as much as I can"), and I've always liked Joey. Twins, I absolutely hate and actually one of the reasons I stopped listening to HK music. Eason's cool. Kelly Chen is old now, no? Hacken, I don't know much about, and Miriam, I don't really like. Is Edison still alive? I don't like him.

I like Nic, Joey, Fiona, Ping Pung (are they even still around?), Shine stuff was ok too. Weird mix? Maybe, but those were who've I've been listening too.

sorry to say dis but Myolie is not hot at all, i agree that she is talented toward acting. But i refer her to as cute not hot.

Tavia is the definition of hot!!!

Bernice is just pretty in a healthy wise also she is unique compare to all the other tvb actress out there...

woah..chill pal.. and erm..leila's gd, and so is raymond lam. ron ng's improving, soo it's quite ok. and one advice to you, dont watch myolie!! i just finished war and destiny, and her character really pissed me off, but tt's a different story. to all myolie fans, sry if i offended you, but the fact tt she's always playing the similar roles all the time really is very annoying!

music wise, im not sure.. but. i think there are some songs in nicholas tse's album which are quite nice. edison is more talented in acting,i can say. Twins, their latest album is quite entertaining too. esp Wo heng xiang ai ta.

why doesn't anyone ever mention Andy Hui? All his songs are sooooo good! His new album came out today btw and its really good!

But ye, at the moment everyone seems to like the newcomers mentioned above: Raymond Lam, Bosco, Bernice, Tavia etc

Oh yea, Andy's pretty good. I saw him in a couple of movies a while back ago, but I am not sure about his music.

Raymond Lam is definitely a hottie right now. He is a great actor, good-looking and unlike alot of the other actors right now, he can really sing. So it's a guy who has it all Kevin Chen and Ron Ng are also hot right now, but they are not as good as Raymond Lam. And I don't think they can sing that well, so I don't know why they still insist on trying a singing career. Bosco is another great actor. He is not that handsome, but I like his cute appearance. Watch "War of In-Laws" and you will see a performance by him you cannot forget!

Tavia Yeung and Charmaince Sheh are the hottest female actors right now I think. Although Michelle Yip gets alot of female lead roles too. But personally I prefer Tavia. Another one I like is Myolie Wu. You definitely have to watch her with Bosco in War of In-laws. They are the perfect couple.

About the "old" ones that are still active I would say I like Sheren Tang and Ada Choi. Especially Sheren Tang. Her acting is still as good as ever! I can't believe how she can still be so good-looking after all these years. She doesn't seem to age at all

Raymond Lam for sure. He can sing he can act and he looks quite cool.

yup it has change alot...most of the stalwarts still act in some series but then there are alot of new ones coming up...ppl like ron ng,bosco wong,raymond lam,myolie wu,tavia yeung all is up and coming actors and actresses...do nto forget about leila tong although she acted in tvb series since young...she is stil considered "new" because she is still young...should watch some recent series then you will know who is the upcoming stars..the new generation of stars i should say!

Myolie, Niki, and Bernice I would watch any show with them in it. As for music, Kelly is not that old I still love her. Also like Vincy and Stephy a lot.

When I was in HK this summer practically everywhere I went they were either playing Justin, Janice, Kary or Joey's songs. So I believe they are pretty "hot/red" in HK right now. Well Joey has been popular since the year she entered showbiz...
As for the actors/actresses Bosco and Niki seem quite popular as well, I saw a few big posters of Niki in Mong Kok and Yuen Lang. But surprisingly I didn't see much of Twins...

I think what MaChao really wanna know is who's hot in the music industry.. not who's hot in TVB series...

Its so hard to describe who's HOT as they've soooo many good actors that is hard for me to just for their best. But for my point of view. I would rate this two actor as my best in Hong Kong industry....

1) Amy Kwok, Kenix Kwok = Very well talented and veteran actors
2) Francis Ng, Lau Ching Wan = Same ... Veterans and very cool in their movies

for singers:

Female: Joey Yung is currently the biggest female singer in HK right now. some may say that her popularity has dropped a bit, but with great album sales, sold-out/almost sold-out concerts, and having the most radio plays for a female artist in the last 3 years, there is not question that she is still DOMINATING the music industry. Joey's #1 rival would be Miriam Yeung, with Denise Ho joining the competition not too long ago. These 3 are the top female singers in HK right now. meanwhile, Fiona Sit and Janice Vidal are probably the fastest rising female singers, and Vincy Chan would be the biggest newcomer this year.

Make: Eason, Leo, and Hacken are currently the top male singers in HK today. the competition in the last couple years is mainly between Eason and Leo though because Hacken is starting to slow down (he's getting married Nov 28). Justin Lo has the biggest potential of being BIG, but his newest album is not doing as well as his debut last year.

Groups: Twins popularity has dropped a lot since 2002-2003, but they are probably still the biggest group/band right now. Meanwhile, Softhard (a band from the 90's) has had a successful concert series and ppl are starting to remember/pay attention to them. at17 is starting to become popular, as well as Soler.

I also stopped listening to HK pop the time Twins came out....given that they are one of the more hardworthy artists out there at the moment really says something about the state of new talent....
I'm quite glad to see some names that I recognise from my past era...maybe the HKers do appreciate quality!
