If you're familiar with TVB/HK series, then you must know the relationship "cliches" or "popular" type of pairings in TVB series.

Just to name a few:

The "opposite attracts" relationship: where both boy and girl hate each other at first site and then fall for each other at the end.

The "love at first sight" relationship: where boy and girl, you know it, fall in love at first sight.

The "friendship first" relationship: where they are friends first, lover later

The "boy likes girl first" relationship: where boy chases after girl

The "girl likes boy first" relationship: where girl chases after boy

The "enemies at first, lovers later" relationship: where both are enemies and then fall in love

The "lovers first, later turned enemies" relationship: where lovers turn into enemies

The "mentor and student" relationship: where the mentor and student become lovers

The "age difference" relationship: where one lover is older than the other


My favorite is probably "friendship first" because you get to see the characters know each other and appreciate each other before they move onto their lovers relationship. Second is "opposite attracts" because they are almost always funny!

Always disliked the "love at first sight" because one, I don't believe in it and two, it seems superficial that the characters just love each other because of physical attractiveness without knowing the personality.


So which one is your most and least favorite and why? Give some example if you could.

i hate the opposite attracts because it really is starting to get boring now...also i definitely HATE the age difference!!! dont like series where the guy is younger than the girl!!! i like the love at first site, boy likes girls and girls like boys...

Hey, interesting topic and because I'm biased Im going to use Nnadia Chan for the examples, hehe!!

I love "opposites attracts" because like its always hilarious and misunderstood like in In The Realm of Success and The Legendary Four Aces, always entertaining to watch cos you know you'll get some laughs.

"love at first sight" find it totally unbelievable, like in Trimming Success, where Nnadia first met Ellesmere when his car broke down and she fixed it for him and he was smitten straight away and asked for her contact number, only in series, eh?

"Friendship first" is nice to watch cos you can get to see how and why they become in love and it shows that it is possible for friends to become lovers like Nnadia and Kevin in Trimming Success

I quite like "Girl likes boy first" cos if she didn't Julian wouldn't have chased after Nnadia after she told him she likes him and not Louis and forced him to admit his true feelings, aahhhh! That was in Cold Blood Warm Heart.

"Boy likes girl first" is usually the most common type so I'm sick of watching it! Its usually the boy buying flowers and dining out to impress a girl like with Nnadia and Louis in CBWH

Totally hate the thought of "age differance" Nnadia and Sak Sau in Strike at Heart was revolting that I never saw this series.

i completely love the enemies at first and lovers later thing. Haha i like how they bicker and fight at first...it's fun to watch and the process of how they grow to understand each each then fall in love, it's quite nice. I also enjoy the love at first sight then especially when there's a good love story involved. It's always really sweet. I don't relaly like the age difference one...i find it kind of wierd espeacially when one is wayy older than the other. I don't really remember watching a mentor and student one...but i don't think i'd really like to watch it

Hmm i think the ones that are the triangle type where it was like Charmaine, Raymond and Moylie in the Drive of life was very interesting. Another type I like is the one that they fall in love at first sight....and they keep on bumping into eachother everywhere such as Natalie and Bosco in the series with Niki and Kevin. So cute..

the thing with the enemies and then friends thing can be quite funny but it is too overused and happens in practically all TVB series.
yea its good fun when they are arguing but then they say things like "i would never fall in love with them" and then in the end they are a couple. its getting a bit boring

friendship and then love is quite a good one. quite like watching things like that but i rarely happens on TV.

girl likes boy but boy likes someone else and then realise that they like the girl. that happens quite often as well and yup getting a bit too boring.

the opposites attract, well I think it's pretty common but i like it.

i totally hate the age difference. okay here's a majoy example, in the brink of law when bernice had to seduce that guy, i forgot his name, those scenes were so awkward! he's old enough to be her dad!

um, i'm not sure if this is a type but i like the part where a guy and girl just totally falls in love kinda like love at first sight but then they find out something and become enemies but in the end still has each others' head (nothing about living and dying cause the series r mixed up) so yea.
