百川流浪到山西，遇上高娃與其弟弟虎兒赤，高娃見百川可憐，甘願將自己手上僅餘的銀分給百川使用。

高娃見本業騎著愛駒，上前理論，本業道出此馬來歷，高娃於是與虎兒赤往尋找馬賊，不敵被擒，幸本業帶人馬折返，救出二人，高娃為答謝本業，以愛駒相贈。

百川到平遙吉祥鑄銀局找工作，為免漏露身分，他易名為「范子齊」……

Whole family is murdered, Bak Chuen blames himself

Bak Chuen learns that his whole family is to be beheaded, and rushes to the court to turn himself in too, swearing that he will die with his family. But is prevented from doing so by Ming Sum. Ming Sum knocks Bak Chuen out, sends him away, and turns himself in claiming to be Bak Chuen...

Although Sung Man is the second son of military minister Cheung Hao Yu and is intelligent, he does not like to be controlled. He further decides to secretly go travelling everywhere.

Bak Chuen roams to San Sai and meets Ko Wa (Sonija) and her younger brother Foo Yi Chek (Stephen). Ko Wa takes pity on Bak Chuen and is willing to give Bak Chuen some of her money at hand.

Ko Wa sees Boon Yip riding a foal and goes forward to talk. Boon Yip speaks out about the origin of the horse. Hence, Ko Wa and Foo Yi Chek search for the horse thieves but are unable to seize them. Luckily Boon Yip turns back with men and horses and saves them two. As a way of thanking Boon Yip, Ko Wa gives him a foal.

Bak Chuen arrives at Peng Yiu Gut Cheung money office to look for work, and to avoid revealing his identity, he changes his name to "Fan Tze Chai"...

EPISODE 3:


票號內外　勾心鬥角

本業回到山西總店，為三年一度的大合帳年作準備，身為入贅女婿及二掌櫃的潤田當然侍候在旁，而大掌櫃裕泰心知自己只是本業姊夫，便更加是親力親為。

月嫦見月娥和善，竟以次貨皮裘騙取月娥金錢，幸得喬菁加以阻止。

子齊在鑄銀局工作非常勤奮，更向管工九叔道出器材殘舊，但九叔卻置諸不理。

高娃與虎兒赤在街頭賣藝，希望可以籌集路費返家，巧遇崇文，三人結成好友；言談間崇文得知二人被偷馬，遂向世交平遙知縣福佑求助；馬賊最後被一網成擒。

福佑本想將崇文送返京城，但崇文以他私藏頤明園珍寶要脅，迫福佑讓他留下。

裕泰為可在鼎豐盛中站穩陣腳，所以希望可以撮合子景賢與本業次女喬蓁。

潤田建議收購吉祥鑄銀局，所以便與本業往視察其業務，剛巧遇上溶爐發生爆炸，阿祥受傷，子齊見義勇為與九叔理論，本業見狀，對子齊留下深刻印象。

Struggled dealings both inside and out of the profession

Boon Yip returns to the main office in San Sai to prepare for the 3 yearly organization of financial accounts. As the son-in-law of the family and the second store keeper, of course Yun Tin (Kenny Wong) is awaiting on the side. But even the head store keeper Yue Tai (Lau Dan) knows in his heart that he is only Boon Yip's older brother-in-law so he does what he can to the best of his ability.

Yuet Seung (Rebecca Chan) sees that Yuet Ngor (Lui San) is kind (naive), and tries to deceive Yuet Ngor with a fake brand bag for money, but luckily Kiu Ching (Claire Yiu) stops this from happening.

Tze Chai works rather diligently at the money office, even pointing out to the foreman Uncle nine that the equipment is deficient and worn but Uncle nine ignores the need for repairs.

Ko Wa and Foo Yi Chek perform on the street for money in hope of earning money to travel back home. And by chance they meet Sung Man and the three become good friends. During the conversation Sung Man learns that their horse was stolen and seeks help from Foo Yau and the bandits are finally captured.

Foo Yau originally intended to send Sung Man back to the capital but Sung Man uses his secret treasures from Yi Ming Garden to coerce Foo Yau to let him stay behind.

In order to keep a steady position in DFS Yue Tai plans to make a match with his son King Yin and Boon Yip's second daughter Kiu Jan.

Yun Tin suggest to purchase Gut Cheung money office so they can keep a close eye on Boon Yip business dealings. Coincidently an explosion occurs and Cheung is injured. Tze Chai displays brave acts and debates with Uncle nine about the explosion. Boon Yip sees all the situation and is left with a very deep impression of Tze Chai.
