Kirai
Years of Starcraft has taught me some Korean.

Ahn Nyung (sp?) - Hello or Good morning or some form of greeting. I forgot ^^

Sa rang hae (sp?) - I love you

Gosu - Skilled

Chobo - Unskilled

Hasu - Unskilled
Kirai

yes it is.. saranghamnida is a real korean word.. it does mean "i love you"..
but people often say "saragehae!" or "saranghaeyo!" (more formal) and sarang just means "love"... saranghamnida is just about the same thing.. except theres the root word.. but it can be changed..

i love you - saranghaeyo!

you pronounce saranghaeyo like this:

"SA RANG HAY YO!" but say it fast and brief.. and with a "puff".. the pronounciation is abit softer than japanese..

i'm not quite sure if this is right "pretty girl"..

a-rum-da-gwon yuhja.. <== beautiful girl..

again, im not definitely sure.. maybe theres another common term to say pretty girl..

a friend of mine knows how to speak korean because she tutors english to some koreans here. the first time i heard of korean in a movie, i was amazed. it's a hard-spoken language just like jap but it's cool to the ears.
vanggirlie
i love how korean sounds in a song. it's just cool. newho i'm taking korean so right now i can understand as much as a 1st grader can. it's not as hard as i think it would be or maybe it's because i like learning it.

한국어는 재미 이다 그래서 모두는 그것을 해봐야 한다.
korean language is fun so everyone should try it. (sorry all the verbs are still in dictiionary form)

[EDIT] march 29
Vanggirlie Lesson 1

Memorize and practice writing.
consonants

vowels

pronounciation of some of the hard ones:
for the top row
eo = all
a = a as in ma
eu = the "ou" in could
i = ee
e = the "ay" in say
oe = way
wi = we

for the bottom row you just add a y to the begging of the top row.

Now practice consonants with vowels

Now practice putting the characters in the right position and how to read.

below is a good site to tell you how to write.
www.lifeinkorea.com/Language/ writing.cfm

Vanggirlie Lesson 2

i want to warn you that the only thing i cant do is convert the verb right. you'll see as you go on below.

you must know the characters first (alphabet). know which is vowel and which is consonat. also know how to pronounce.

Vocabulary

noun
나 = I
공원 = park
선물 = present
상점 = store
학교 = school
집 = house
사과 = apple

verb
하다 = to do
공부하다 = to study
먹는다 = to eat

sentence structure
these are all possible sentence structures that can be made.

topic + topic marker + place + place marker + subject + subject marker + object + object marker + verb.

topic + topic marker + subject + subject marker + place + place marker + object + object + object marker + verb.

more sentence structures

topic + topic marker + verb.

subject + subject marker + verb.

subject + subject marker + object + object marker + verb

topic + topic marker+ object + object marker + verb

particles
you put after topic, subject, and object to label it as such (so that you know that it is either topic or subject or etc.).

topic marker

는 used with topic word that ends without a consonant (consonant = batchim).

ex: 나 + 는 = 나는
나 means I so 는 is just telling you that "I" is the topic of the sentence.

은 used with a topic word that ends with a consonat (batchim).

ex: 상점 + 은 = 상점은
상점은 (store) with 은 after it than that means 상점 is the topic of the sentence.

subject marker

가 (ga) used with subject word that ends without a consonant (batchim).
ex:

이 (ee) used with subject word that ends with a consonant (batchim).
ex:

object marker

을 used with object word that ends with a consonant (batchim).

ex: 선물 + 을 = 선물을
this 을 siginfies the 선물 (present) is the object in this sentence.

를 used with object word that ends without a consonant (batchim).

ex: 사과 + 를 = 사과를
를 after 사과 (apple) means that 사과 is an object.

place marker

에 = to place; (ay as in say) used with a place word.

ex: 학교 + 에 = 학교에
에 after 학교 (school) marks the 학교 as a place. use this marker when your verb is "go" or "come. as in "i go 학교에.

에서 = to a place to do...; (ay sall) used with a place word when you are going to a place to do something.

ex: 집 + 에서 = 집에서
에서 signifies that you are at a place or going to (depending on the verb) a place 집 (house) to do something so you can add a verb other than "go" or "come" or use them still. as in "i 집에서 sleep.

sentence example

나는 학교에 간다.

I/I'm + to school + go

I'm going/go to school.

나는 학교에서 공부하다.

I + to school + to study.

i going/go to school to study

나는 사과를 먹는다.

I + apple + eat.

i'm eating an apple.

나는 학교에서 사과를 먹는다.

I + to/at school + apple + eat.

i eat an apple at the library.

[edit] march 30 @ 12:30 pm
ok so the verb is still in it's dictionary form. meaning that's how the verb looks in the dictionary but if you put the verb in a sentence than you must conjugate it. for example if you want to write drive in past tense than you conjugate it into drived. the korean verbs are kind of like that but a lot different, this was the only way i could think of to explain it. wait till i get to school than i'll be able to put up examples.

ex: 은경이가 김치를 먹어요
eungyung eats kimchi.

you see that the verb "eat" 먹다 is conjugated to 먹어요. so whenever you use a verb in sentence than you must conjugate it.

will finish later
