OHAYO! After readg an interview with LDW (Gong Chan) in MY GIRL, he said that he stole only 2 hours of sleep while shooting the drama! I guess fatique does sets in and interplays here cos' I do noticed that in certain scenes, he impresses but in certain other scenes, he seems to lose his ground! But still sustaining interest! Yoo Rin sets a captivating mood throughout!
BUT MY GIRL IS THE ONE THAT SPRUCES UP HIS POPULARITY! Gong Chan and Yoo Rin were voted as the BEST COUPLE beginning last year by K-viewers!
It's still my favourite choice cos' it's never boring!

This has just recently aired in my country, and this is so nice, reminds me of Full House. And i do think that this show is better than Goong is any expects, it should top Goong! All the four leads looks stunning, and Lee Da Hae is too hilariuos for words, but towards the end, she acts it even better wif her crying skills.

yoo rin is witty, in the sense that she always make fun of both gong cang and jeong woo (daddy and mummy....

There is a music softly hum by a female voice. Not singing, just humming.
Any idea, is that in the ost?

OHAYO! Hai alateria! Are you referring to the song that comes softly when PSY was on the treadmill? I really like that one cos' it's in a musical format minus the lyrics!
I really like the OST! Somehow korean drama series come with nice OST ballads!

^ I think she's talking that scene in the first episode when JW first appeared.
I hope you guys don't mind my joining your conversation

I actually bought this series last summer but never around to watching it. I haven't had school the past couple of days so thought I'd take it out and watch it. Man am I glad I did! I just finished this series last night and I absolutely love it! It has humor, a touching love story, good eye candy, an amazing OST, and best of all, it's short and sweet, not at all draggy like most other dramas.
Though I did notice that it has some of the components of a Korean drama that most of the other ones have too. For example, the girl falls for the guy first, the guy then falls for the girl, they're happy, the girl runs and hides from guy due to pressure from an outside party, guy finds girl after a couple of years but girl denies ever loving guy, outside party realizes his mistake and gives the couple his blessings, girl and guy live happily ever after. I was thinking of this series and My Sassy Girl Chun-Hyang as I wrote the above.
Speaking of Chun-Hyang, I loved how Han Chae Young and Jae Hee appeared in the last episode! I thought their scene was a bit too short though. I wish the last episode could've been just a bit longer and also see a bit more of what happened to GC and YR. Maybe even show us the lives of SH and JW.
I think Park Si Yeon is really pretty and I liked her in the Chinese drama Lotus Lantern but I think her acting still needs a lot more improvement. Seeing as how this is her first drama as a lead, I think, it's understandable. One of the obvious things I noticed about her is that she scoffs at everything. Actually I don't think it's called scoffing, but whatever it's called, she does it in reaction to everything that happens.
^^ I apologize if any of the above has already been mentioned but I was so excited to post my thoughts about this series that I haven't read through all the pages yet.
I'll finish off on this note: Lee Dong Wook is gorgeous! My first thought upon seeing him in the first episode was, this guy is HOT! He did a good job portraying the charismatic GC

Konichiwa! Welcome here! You are indeed welcomed!
In fact PSY has more sad moments than happy moments in MG! I don't know whether she gets the retribution for abandoning Gong Chan when he needs her the most in the most crucial times of his life...........GC's parents were killed in an accident while holidaying! She chose tennis over GC! So she thought that GC wld accept her upon her return to Korea when her fame is already established!
Her hope and expectation really fall short! Maybe that is the reason why she scoffs at practically everything that works not in the way she wants! It's very much an internal battle within her that is beyond her control! But honestly, I did not really hate her in MG cos' her 'evilness' is not on the high level side! Hahahaha.............
It's really a light-hearted romantic comedy!
LDW wld be one happy guy right now in Korea knowing that someone out there thinks he is hot and gorgeous! I feel the same way abt. him too!
In fact it's MY GIRL that causes his popularity to soar! ARANG is another of his hit success as well!
I'm still watching Saassy Girl-Chun Yang! If I'm not wrong both MG and SG share the sdame director! I'm also enjoying Sassy Girl now! Don't u think Mong Rong looks better in MG!
alarteria...........That scene appears at the beginning when JW makes the entrance!
This shot is for all the new ones joining us! See how close GC and YR!

spazgal420, welcome.

keep posting, yah!

went to watch that episode. I missed out episode 1 and some of episode 2, so i did not know which scene was that.

But now i know. Thanks.

i suppose many pple would have mistaken him as a lady.
PSY, how shall i put. There are some scenes, which she seem irritating..
as in, she will try to chase LDH off, no matter what. And she keep disturbing and forcing LDW. She doesn't look like she really love LDW, instead, more like scared of losing to LDH. She just want him, not love him.
But sometime, i will pity her. She seem quite sad over having to win the tournament, yet losing her love. Seeing her bf buying gifts, tot is for her, yet is not. Seeing her bf caring for another infront of her.
It seem like MG caused the main male characters to soar.
LJK and LDW both getting popular.

I finished this series a few weeks ago. I thought the story was ok but Lee Da Hae just is not the right match for that character. She was good in Green Rose but for her to play this character in MY Girl. It just doesnt match her. Its an ok drama to watch but it wasnt all that great for me.

OHAYO! Domo for your comment!
Da Hae's roles changed from a villain in SWEET 18 to a nice demure girl in GREEN ROSE! I didn't watch Sweet 18 but from comments heard, viewers who like her after GR and MG said they hate her in S18!
I still think that she has versatility up her sleeves cos' she executes her roles effectively to get ppl's attention enugh to make comparison of her roles. I believe her greatest breakthrough was the role she acted in MY GIRL!
Green Rose was her hit as well but not as great as MG! I watch GR once but I don't pick it up again for re-runs unless I'm really running out of dramas to watch! Maybe my viewing tastes have really changed! I fall in love with less serious but romantic cum comedy genres of dramas now!
Anyway........thanks!
Let this talking shot be my gift to all of u for de day!
Yoo Rin: Can we disclose our relationship now?
Gong Chan: Telling the truth or lying?
Yoo Rin: I can't lie anymore because of your love for me!
Gong Chan: I didn't know MY LOVE is so great! So from this day onwards, you have to listen to your great Gong Chan!
Yoo Rin: Yes, MY LOVE! You are my Romeo! I'm your Juliet!

actually, for me, i didnt really like lee dong wook that much in the beginning, until that kissing scene. it made his image look soooooooooooooo romantic! he kissed her forehead, then asked her if she was disappointed when she looked down, and she says, "yes. what? no, no." and then he kisses her<333 then says I love you and kisses her again. =] omg it was soo heart melting. now I cant stop thinking about him! hes so freaken HOTTTTTT.

I only watched this series for Lee Jun Ki.

The series was better than I thought it would be. The beginning was very funny and good, but the end dragged a bit. All together, I didn't regret watching it, especially Jun Ki's parts. hehe He did a good job in the series, but there were moments where I was annoyed with his character. He was too desperate, but the scene near the end when he saw Yoo-Rin on the bus at the airport was touching. I felt bad for him there.

Jan 28 2007 3 03 AM
Ok, I've only watched up to episode 3 of this series, but I am giving it a high rating already

In the first episode, I had my doubts as there were many similarities to "Full House" , that is, girl-guy "pretend" relationship. Although in FH it was a marriage but here it's a cousin relationship. Also, another similarity I noted was the girl had troubles where she couldn't find a place to stay and had to depend on a rich & successful guy. The similarities end here.
Since FH, I've always compared other KR series to it's standards, as it was my fav. For My Girl, initially I had quite low expectations as I was not familiar with the 2 leads. However, the female lead truly surprised me! I must say she's as good as (if not better!) than Song K H in FH! Her facial expressions & comedic timing is excellent! Also, the plot line gets more interesting as the episode progress.
I've noted that Lee Jun Kee, the latest hot young actor in KR right now, really looks PRETTY

heh heh... When he first appeared in the series, I thought he was a gal! I don't know why he has a big following, as I find that pretty boys are not that attractive to me. However, his acting is OK here. He has more expressions than the stoic male lead!

Yoo Rin's acting defies seriousness! In a recent interview in China not long ago as she is the Korean representative of the China-Korea Cultural Connection, she disclosed that the character of Yoo Rin is very much a part of her!
WoW!.............So the Yoo Rin In MY GIRL is LDH in real life! I hope the Seol Gong Chan in MG is also the real life LEE DONG WOOK! PERFECT MATCH!
Remember these shots of Yoo Rin in My GIRL!..............She is definitely dramatic!

http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o122/ic...e62/mgcap96.jpgIt's here in the last epi where Gong Chan went to find Yoo Rin and told her that he doesn't or refuses to believe in her 'confession' of how she's making use of his feelings for her for monetary reasons and Mukgu just kept pushing him away.
Another really heartbreaking scene which really tugged at my heartstrings was in the epi before this where Gong Chan was in the karaoke lounge with the other tourists singing the 'nan nuh eh ge' song clearly meant for Mukgu.
And the way he sounded in there where I can just hear him pouring out his emotions, I thought it was really heartfelt even if I have to admit Wookie isn't really singer-material heh as much as I'm drawn to him.
But I even forget about that just listening to how genuinely sincere he sounds there, I thought Wookie was pretty great there in conveying his emotions, not to mention the two dream scenarios between the two conjured by the tourists cracked me up as well at the same time and we get to see two really different sides of Gong Chan with Yoo-Rin HAHA.
But this show really made me laughed, smiled as well as cried aplenty, I would even say it's my all time fav k-drama/comedy, one which even influences my daily life now when I keep saying words like "You will be blessed" in korean or just step on the white strip of the zebra-crossing when crossing the road which I really did the other day lol.

OHAYO! Domo Arigato for de feedback!
Now I get it! It's almost towards the end of the drama! There are more display of emotions towards the end esp. when the grandfather was adamant that Yoo Rin MUST go irrespective of how much GC loves her! For a moment, GC's grandfather has forgotten how he was rescued from the snares of death when YR disguised as his lost granddaughter at his near-brink-of-death moments! What a short memory he has!
I thought he would have forgiven YR after the 2 years' span apart.......Time should have done justice to YR and GC but yet when GC wanted YR back to his side, it was his grandfather putting the wedge between them again! Sad, sad, sad.......
In fact LDW is short of a gud-singing material..........gomenasai, I mean no harm tho! I've heard him singing one or two songs! His asset is still his acting skill!THAT'S A VERY PRETTY SAD SCENE TOO! How YR pushes him aside! YR has also forgotten how kind he was in accomodating her when she was running away from the thugs and badly needing a place to stay in the first episode of the drama! It was Gong Chan who rescued and provided a home for her! And a friendly and warm home and family! AT THAT POINT I THOUGHT SHE WAS REALLY UNREASONABLE!
You really do like what YR always says in MG! You make me laugh and smile........no harm sayg nice things to yourself! That's gud pyschology too! Sayg positive words! I will try the 'zebra' thingy the next time I see one! And plz onegai say 'snap' when you do it cos' another soul somewhere on planet earth is doing the same thing! Hahaha........

BYE! Have a nice GONGCHANI AND YOORINI DAY! I really like the couple! And I miss them a lot! Jun Ki is okay for me too!
This one is for you.........In fact when Gong Chan is with PSY, this is the one I like BEST! They look matching here tho! LDW looks smart in office attire!
On what you mentioned there where I highlighted, indeed I thought the grandpa was a little too petty over a white lie that did saved his life and also brought much joy to him btw with the introduction of Yoo-Rin into the family. But I guess he's just stubborn like how old folks can be at times and refused to admit how deep down he wanted YR in the family until right at the end, even if he still sounded like he accepted her only due to what the others have told him about her.
And I thought that Mukgu just felt like she needed to keep to her promise not to break up the family and caused more uproar then because the grandpa was seemingly really attached to Gong Chan and he would probably go into a relapse again like before unfortunately as much as I wanted Gong Chan and Yoo-Rin to just elope then for good. I cried loads here btw and during the airport scene as well. *sniff*
Ah well I guess Mukgu not only infected her dear Gong Chan with her good-natured lies, apparently the group of tourists followed her suit if you recall them just stepping on the white part while crossing the road, and right under the very eyes of Gong Chan too, I was so gasping in disbelief there how they missed each other again among the other times when they were so close in coming into contact.

Oh though I couldn't really stand PSY in there, no offense and her acting still needs a lot of brushing up I feel.
The DongHae pairing is what makes the drama so watchable to me, and like Gong Chan says along the lines like I never want to snap out of this insanity, and I myself don't ever want to either over the MG couple.

OHAYO! Domo for the remarks!
Tho PSY was the villain, I don't really hate her to the core! I wonder how I would have acted and reacted if I were in her shoes! I might not let Gong Chan go too easily without fighting, and esp. to someone who lacks an impressive credentials in the person of Yoo Rin!
I really like that part where your quoted lines came from.........is it at the roof-top of the hospital where he tries to clear his head out of the insanity that is plaguing him? And there is another time when it was snowing, and GC really shows his true colours in terms of the display of his emotions showing how 'insane' he is knowing that he has fallen in love with YR, and they cannot be cousins but only acting based on their creative lying! A really mixed bag of intense emotions! I like to see GC getting angry at himself for initiating the lie. and losing his control over it!
A long write and I better stop here! Anyway thanks for this exchange of notes!

icPeace62 - The part I was talking about was when SH confronted GC in his office about why he couldn't love her and when she bursts out that he's just being momentarily insane in loving someone like YR, he retorts that he doesn't want to recover from this 'insanity' then.
Though there was another time when YR wanted to back out of the impersonation because of how tiring it was, he confessed to YR that 100 times a day, he was about to go insane.

OHAYO!
Domo for de feedback! Ya.......GC utters those lines when he was confronted by SH in his office! GC does not want to snap out of that insanity of falling in love with YRin! SH's fury was ignited! When the opportunity for her to retaliate comes, she jumps at it! Don't you think GC's grandfather does not really like her at first but warms up to her when she exposes the lie. I would have question her intention since she 'cheated' GC by leaving him when GC needs her the most during the saddest moments of his life! I hope there is a Part 2..........
Btw., I agree that PSY as SH has a lot of catching up to do as far as her acting skill is concerned. But do you know that she has been offered movie and drama to do after MG finishing its shooting. Lee Da Hae was not so hotly sought after compared to the other 3 leads on MG.
I have not snapped out of this insanity with MG too! I saw a no. of dramas after MG, and I tend to do a lot of comparison..........MG still rocks for me!

When Gong-chan (Lee Dong-wook) meets the lively and beautiful Yu-rin (Lee Da-hae), he notices the resemblance between her and his long-lost cousin, whom his dying grandfather has been searching for. He hires Yu-rin to stand in for his missing cousin as a final gesture to his grandfather - but his own growing feelings for her threaten to ruin everything. The real drama begins when Gong-chan's ex-girlfriend, a pro tennis star (Park Si-yeon), enters the scene determined to win him back.
My Girl was a Top Ten hit in Korea in 2006, aided by the appearance of hot new actor Lee Jun-ki. The King and The Clown star plays Jung-woo, an unscrupulous playboy who sets his sights on Yu-rin.

I love this drama. This korean drama has a happy ending, just like "Full House". I have recommended this drama to my friends and they love it. Lee Da-hae plays the role Ju Yoo-rin is the main female cast in this drama. When I first watch this drama, this artist doesn't look very pretty, but gradually as I watch episode by episode, I find that she has a look that can last long. Though her she is average looking, her beauty can last forever. I like her character in this drama, very bold and thick-skinned girl. I love her............ ^_________^
