What's the chinese title of this series called? I want to rent it... hopefully TVB shops have that video.

Oyasuminasai!

A popular drama like MG should be easily available in most music/drama shops. If I can be of any help, the chinese title should sound like 'Wo Thet Ne Hai'. loool.gif loool.gif Gomenasai, I'm a Mandarin illiterate but I get someone to romanise it for you.

Bye! Happy Watching! clapping.gif clapping.gif

I never really liked Korean series before I saw this one. This series got me hooked ever since, I continue watching it over and over again. It also introduced me to the cute Lee Da Hae, I've been in love wit her ever since. This series is a must-see, one of the best out there I would say.

i love this drama. I even told my dad to buy it and now i have it. lee jun ki is so cute and sometimes i wish that lee jun ki and lee da hae ended up together...no offense to lee dong wook lovers sweat.gif
MizTressX
Just rewatched it and its still as great as all the other times I've watched lol...I love their chemistry! They should really be an item thats for sure! It is true I don't really watch KDramas cause I find most of them draggy and too melodramatic by half but MG just had this flavor to it that made it stand out from the rest besides the fact that the cast were really beautiful people lol... buahaha.gif

I dunno if I posted in this topic before but here goes - one ov the best K-dramas yet! It was super duper hilarious through out most parts of the drama! Both characters had great chemistry and amazing acting skills! Then there were little serious parts near the end. Omg the near end was suberbly sad. When she cried at the airport I felt my heart break for her >.< Then at the actual end it was ultra cute! I love how balanced the whole series was! Ah I also really liked Lee Junki in here. Altho his character is mostly sad he still looked like his pretty self throughout the series and he didn't turn evil like most thrid wheels do. XD Definately one ov my fav third-wheelers! Whoo!

This is one of my favorite dramas. I never knew that this show would be so good. After 2 episodes I fell in love with the acting and the plot. Great movies. Lee Da Hae is such a great actress.

whenever i watched another series, i can't help myself from remembering the scenes in my girl and even want to rewatch it after. that's how i'm addicted to the donghae couple.
clover
I watched this series in Cantonese and Korean. It sounds a lot better in Korean. The actress that plays Yoo-Rin does a really good job. I don't think the voice for the Cantonese version of Yoo-Rin was able to portrayed the slyness and energy that Yoo-Rin has.

This series was great though. I really loved Yoo-Rin's character. I was sad that Yoo-Rin did not end up Jun Ki's character. He was so sweet to her.

I decided to rent this series after seeing this topic and it had so much replies. At first I didn't really like it but after he asks her to be his cousin, I'm addicted to it. Lee dong wook is super hot and at first when I saw lee jun ki, I thought he looked too gay, like exactly like a girl and how he'll be so much hotter than the other female leads if he was a girl lmao. BUt as I see him more and more, I'm in love with him. He is so cute and hot and it sucks when I see him hurt cause he likes the girl but she likes someone else. So far I'm only up to episode 6.

Hi Peggy - try to finish the drama till the end & you won't be disappointed. This series is very good. The 2-guys here are so hot & cute, right? I agree with you about Lee Jun Ki because that also happened to me when I watched this drama. innocent.gif

Lee Da hae is a great actress. She makes the character so adorable. I love her character so much. It's a really good series, I must say. I have tried to make my sister watch it too. Hahahah. One of my faves.

Joo Yoorin (Lee Da Hae) is a tour guide in a small company in charge of running mini tours in the Jeju Island of South Korea. Her father is a gambling addict, but despite all the debts that he runs up, Yoorin always finds a way to help repay them. She leads a below-average life but is happy as long as she has her dad around her. Because of her father's gambling ways, she has had to move from country to country whenever her father runs from one place to another to avoid their debtors. This has in turn brought her the ability to converse fluently in Chinese and Japanese, which are of great help as a tour guide whenever she has to entertain tourists from China and Japan.

Seol Gongchan (Lee Dong Wook) is the only heir of the owner of L'Avenuel Hotel, which is one of the top hotels in Korea. His grandfather, Seol Woong, charges him with the duty of finding his granddaughter, who is also Gongchan's cousin. Seol Woong had disowned his own daughter, Gongchan's aunt, when she decided to marry a man not of his choice. However, when Seol Woong had a change of heart and wished to accept his daughter back, an earthquake struck where his daughter lived, and since then, he has lost all contact with his kin and perhaps the chance to make amends for his own stubbornness, to take care of his granddaughter and hopefully make things right.

Kim Seohyun (Park Si Yeon) is the girlfriend of Seol Gongchan. A rising star in the tennis world, she returns to Korea to look for Gongchan as she cannot forget him.

Seo Jung Woong (Lee Jun Ki) is the son of one of the main shareholders of L'Avenuel Hotel and also the best friend of Seol Gongchan. Unlike Gongchan who is responsible and hardworking, Jung Woong is a flirt who is known to have many girlfriends.

The story starts with Yoorin rushing to the airport. She is helping her friend delay a flight so that the tourists of her friend will not miss their flight. Out of ideas, she plays a damsel in distress, who is apparently mourning her impending death and her dying wish to see her boyfriend who is apparently on the flight. And so after much crying and the entire airport empathizing with her, she gets to get on board the plane to look for her boyfriend who never really existed. As she walks, she realizes she cannot find anyone and pretends to faint. Alas, she faints beside the seat of our male lead, Seol Gongchan, who knows a liar when he sees one. Although their first encounter is weird, it doesn't leave much of an impression in each other's mind.

Later, however, when Gongchan has to entertain a bunch of Chinese visitors and realizes he has no translator, he engages the services of Yoorin coincidentally and through Yoorin, his potential Chinese investors have a great time at the L'Avenuel Hotel branch in Jeju, and Yoorin has much credit to claim for it.

After a series of comical events including Yoorin staying at his hotel lodge without paying, and Yoorin selling his hotel fruityard's oranges to make a small profit (to clear her father's debts again), Gongchan's impression of Yoorin is one of a cheat and he would want to do anything to distance himself from her.

But then word from mainland Korea is that his grandfather is dying and at his bedside, Seol Woong, through his respirator, can only meekly repeat that he must not and cannot die until he sees his granddaughter again.

Driven by desperation and his love for his grandfather, Gongchan will do anything to ease his burden. When pointed out by his secretary that Yoorin bears a resemblance to his aunt, Gongchan hatches a plan to pass off Yoorin as his grandfather's long-lost granddaughter whilst he carries on searching for the real one.

Yoorin, who is desperate for money to repay her father's debt, is unwilling to do the job as it involves lying to a dying man, something that she staunchly refuses to do. But when Seol Gongchan desperately begs her and she realizes she is somewhat indebted to him for not bringing her to the police after her little business in his hotel, she caves in and pretends to the long-lost granddaughter.

And so things seem to be going well, with the search for Gongchan's long-lost cousin making progress and perhaps more importantly, the improvement of Gongchan's grandfather's conditions thanks to Yoorin. As Yoorin spends more time with Gongchan's family, she gets showered with the love she never received as a child and finds herself drawn to Gongchan. She finds herself changing from the liar that she once was to a person who tries to tell the truth when she can. But she knows all too well that her one-sided love will never materialize as the difference in social status between Gongchan and herself is too big.

But unknown to her, Gongchan is also slowly being drawn to her...

It's been 12 long months since I last wrote a review: Forgive me lads, university has been such a rush especially when you're a freshman. In any case, let's dive straight into the good stuff.

I watched Lee Da Hae in "Green Rose" and yes, although I did promise to review that show I think I'll break my promise on that one. In "Green Rose", Lee Da Hae did nothing but sob, sob and sob somemore. I didn't really like it that much. I initially thought "My Girl" would be another nonsensical show but kudos to my instincts, I got it all wrong. A good way to summarize "My Girl" would be to call it a comical drama, something in the likes of "My Name is Kim Sam Soon" and "Full House" combined and taken in the middle. It has a good balance of hilarious moments and moments that make you tear and wrench your heart (yes, that's why most of us watch Korean dramas, to cry and laugh so admit it!).

Lee Da Hae as Joo Yoorin is downright 'wrong'; she made me laugh until my tummy ached, much as Kim Sun Ah did as Kim Sam Soon. But the difference here is that Lee Da Hae is seriously a lot more attractive than Kim Sun Ah, and for the ladies, throw in Lee Dong Wook as the serious Seol Gongchan and you've got a match made in heaven.

It also helped that "My Girl" had the presence of Lee Jun Ki, who, if you haven't been catching up on the latest news, hit stardom in the recent Korean film "The King and I" as a clown who is potentially the 'mistress' of the Korean king and by the way, Lee Jun Ki is a guy for that matter. That should tell you how feminine he looks and ladies somehow always love a guy who looks metrosexual.

Let's all ask the universal question: How does Korea continuously churn out these handsome/super fine-looking males? For one thing, Lee Dong Wook acts as good as he looks in "My Girl". He is cast perfectly as the stubborn and somewhat inflexible Seol Gongchan who will do anything to fulfill his dying grandfather's wish. I did not think much of Lee Dong Wook until the last few episodes of "My Girl". That is when we see Dong Wook ditching his usually calm self in his pursuit of Lee Da Hae.

Wow, I just love Lee Da Hae. I think the word 'beautiful' is an understatement for her. She is beyond beautiful, I think even drop-dead gorgeous would be a poor replacement. Nonetheless, no matter how great you look, it is the acting that speaks the loudest and I think Lee Da Hae made a marvelous improvement in that aspect. When I watched her in "Green Rose", my opinion of her was that she is a person who probably could only act in melodramas, because she was perpetually washing her face in tears. But life is full of surprises and her role as Joo Yoorin was absolutely eye-catching.

I lost count of the number of times I laughed throughout "My Girl" thanks to Lee Da Hae's performance as the comical Yoorin. And yes, she lies a lot in the show but most of the time, it's a white lie that should be considered forgivable. I personally think Lee Da Hae has what it takes to be right up there with Korea's top actresses at the moment. She certainly isn't lacking the beauty component, and her acting in this drama is certainly the best performance I've ever seen of her.
Sadly, Lee Jun Ki is reduced to mere eye candy in "My Girl". Not once in the drama did I feel that Jung Woong was more deserving of Yoorin than Gongchan. Although Lee Jun Ki would be proud to know that this was the drama that brought him the limelight, I do not believe that he excelled in his role of Seo Jung Woong. He spent too much time by the side crying about his inability to chase Yoorin. But to be honest, he never stood a chance. Yoorin has only one true love: that would be Mr. Seol Gongchan.Similar to Jun Ki, Si Yeon doesn't particularly excel here. Perhaps, more famous to all, Park Si Yeon is the current girlfriend of Eric Mun of Shinhwa. Si Yeon basically acts as the jealous girlfriend/ex-girlfriend of Gongchan and half the time, she looks spiteful about Yoorin as the sister who steals Gongchan away from her."My Girl" is a SBS production that spans 16 episodes. Funny as it sounds, I'm beginning to like the idea of Korean dramas lasting only 16 episodes. I mean, I've reviewed "Full House", "I'm Sorry I Love You" and "My Name is Kim Sam Soon", all of which lasted only 16 episodes but left me feeling all great and happy after watching it.
After watching "My Girl", I realize that I'm beginning to love dramas that don't drag and lives up to the moment.

"My Girl" is unique in many ways in which it isn't a completely melodramatic drama, nor is it an out and out comedy. I laughed a lot more than I cried watching this drama and my god, I kept my tissues at bay until the last 3 episodes because the first thirteen were seriously physiotherapy for my stomach muscles.

I really enjoyed the chemistry than Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae had in "My Girl". I still think it doesn't surpass the Bi-Song Hye Gyo chemistry in "Full House" but it's refreshing and heart-wrenching in its own way. Credit should really go to the production crew for making this drama very un-Korean like. We often see people dying and lots of sobbing but in "My Girl", there is way more laughing than crying. I particularly enjoyed the penultimate scene of the drama, where the director very shrewdly chose to close up the expressions of Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae when they finally revealed the truth to each other and for the first time, confessed their love for each other (only at the last episode! Yeh! Three cheers for the director!).And the last scene when the real granddaughter was found, that was downright hilarious.I rate "My Girl" a 4.5 out of 5 stars and trust me on this one: you won't need that much tissue, but be prepared for a hell of a stomach exercise session!

diz drama is better than slow princess hours...but i like sassy girl chun hyang n my lovely sam soon than mygirl bcoz mygirl became so slow in epi. 15 n 16 make my friend slept last year oH!! im so in love with the story and the cast specially the hero (Lee Dong Wook)
Come to think of it...how come there is a happy ending story and not in real life? duh! stupid of me wahehe jz kidding! but seriously--i jz done watching it a while ago. And i love it--fell in love.
I doubted that My Girl had made something wrong in my head. A week after the show still had me searching for the picture of Lee Da Hae. Also come everyday headache when thinking of the funny things and sad moments she brought to me. The series come to Thailand very late however it already has a permanent place in my heart. This is the best comedy/love story I have watched after Kim Sam Soon. But I prefer this drama more as both leads are handsome and pretty. I was still dreamy weeks after this drama. Not to be missed. CheersI've seen lots of Hong Kong, Taiwan and China soap. This is the first Korean soap opera I've seen and its the best soap I know. I'm now addicted to Korean soaps. I love My Girl so much! It's the best Korean soap opera I've ever seen! I realized that if one wants a love so true and strong and everlasting and wonderful...the more painful it will be before you get it, the more suffering there will be.

Sigh...I can watch it over and over again. And I'm learning Korean so that I know EXACTLT what they all are talking about. smile.gif I watched My Girl some time late Nov last year.I have to say,it's one of my favourite dramas now.Lee Da Hae suits the role as Joo Yoo-Rin perfectly. They've got Lee Dong-Wook,Lee Jun-Ki,I mean what more could you possibly ask for?My opinion,My Girl is worth your time.I don't mind watching this drama over and over again. one of my favorite series. i got my other friends, one is hispanic and the other is indian, hooked on asian dramas with this one. The best i've seen. I don't speak Korean but i still enjoyed it. if you know of anyother show that is as funny as his one plz email it to me. Thanks
This is one of my most favorite dramas. I love Lee Da-Hae's character compared to her other dramas such as Green Rose. She looks prettier with curly hair and a bubbly personality. I hated how Sae-Hoon is so jealous of Yoo Rin when she thought she was Gong Chan's cousin.. she's ugly too haha. and Jeong-Woo does nothing but cry as he plays racket ball or whatever it is.. kind of funny but i still felt kind of bad for him at the end. This drama is has a lot of similar points compared with Full House I noticed.. butt My Girl is definitely better :-d

its a very very nice tv series..i love lee dong wook and lee da hae..how i wish im lee da hae...anyways its a combination of comedy and love story.. all i can say is i love this my girl TV series..im from philippines but this is the one of the korean movie that really suite my taste.very good movie.i love you lee dong wook..i love seol gong chan personlanality in that my girl movie..love it...mmwwoouuaaahhhh

THIS SERIE IS MY 2nd FAVE FOR SURE

The story line was funny. LDH and LDW were perfect and the chemistry was great!
Haha when I first saw LDW when he was sitting in the plane, my heart was like bumping like hell.

It was so sweet and not draggy at all. one of the best scene was when LDW thought his grandpa died and then he started to cry and whatnot HAHA and then LDH was like
uhm, excuse me, doesn't it normally goes like 'DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII' when the patient died?

HAHAHA omg I had to cry. fun fun.

after watching (and enjoying) this series, i just felt as though i've wasted a lot of time in not trying 'my girl'...and now i can say- i know what the fuss is all about!! clapping.gif clapping.gif
that scene where gong chan tries that (1..2..3..4..5..!!) count to 5 trick of yoo rin as well as that of yoo rin's own (5..4..3..2..1..!!) at the elevator definitely will be forever embedded in my mind.. love.gif

i love Dong Wook! i think this series is ok. just ok because i don't like LDH's acting!
she's so over reacting. i don't find her funny at all. just finished this because of Dong Wook
and Lee Jun Ki! love this two guy! just wish that LDH ended up with Jun Ki and not with
my man Dong Wook.

I finally finished watching the whole series. I rented the whole series in canto but when I was up to the last episode, it didnt work. The same thing happened to Full house. But I was desperate to finish it cause it was so good so I direct downloaded it. I actually love this series more than Full house. My heart stung a lot during the ending when Lee dae hae lied and said it was all a lie and that all she wanted was money. And then seeing the guy hurt hurts too. I erno, I'm obssesed with the four main characters in here.

In Thailand, this series was well-known. Because it is very funny, the actors get so cooled they act like the real life.

Hi everyone! New here to this thread. tongue.gif
I started watching My Girl last night and on the fron cover I though why is the male lead not that good looking then I was watching it and he looks so much different to his picture. He is quite good looking after seeing him on TV. tongue.gif
But, the girl LDH's character is funny but such a cheat. tongue.gif
There's these other two guys who I dont know their names yet happy.gif' kinda looks like a girl. But actually they're okay!
This series is funny! I'll be watching it later today! smile.gif

I already watch My Girl twice and dont mind repeating again. It's nice. It is in this show that I first know JunKi then I watch The King & The clown.

Lee JunKi can really act well. This is the first time that I admire crying guys. He cry elegantly. Honestly, I always have a feel that guy would not look nice crying on screen, but JunKi change that.

wow, I just finished the Cantonese dubbed version of my girl. It was really great. I was totally addicted to it. Maybe I should rewatch this serie in the original language!

hiya all. this is my first time to post in this thread. (i think) though i have been lurking here for more than a year. awww. it's almost been a year since My Girl first hit the boobtubes in our country. I really really do love the series as this is the first ever Asian series that I was interested in watching and I have never missed an episode even though i have a copy of the series. to those who are just beginning to watch it. keep on watching. this series never bore me a bit. all the episodes are funny. and even though at the latter part, Ju Yoo Rin could really make us cry, the series would still incorporate funny moments.. I'm glad i gave this series a chance... I had no choice..it was aired on the time slot of my fave show at the time.. I was mad then that my fave show got bumped off to a much later time..but when I saw the first ep...or make that the first scene..man was I happy..Ju Yoo Rin is one crazy trickster...I have become a Lee Da Hae fan eversince that fateful 1st episode.. and of course, it doesn't hurt that she got paired off with two hot guys..though I really prefer Lee Dong Wook over Lee Jun Ki...I love the soundtrack even though I have no idea what the songs are saying..heard that the songs are really nice..maybe one of these days I will find the translations to them..I had memorized the songs inspite of not understanding anything..well, except for saranghe...heehee.. that's it for now...I think i did ramble a lot..i guess i'm a bit melancholic..since I'm missing MG...1 year since..wow..time does fly so fast...

p.s. is there really a lying coin? i though it was just a Korean coin that she have called her fib coin.. cluebat.gif

This is such a great series! It has something of everything in it! Comedy, drama, romance! What else do you actually need? But in all honesty, this will forever be my favourite korean drama, as it was the first one I actually watched and it was so good! There were so many cute scenes, where you could see that Lee Da Hae and Lee Dong Wook's characters were so in love with each other but both didn't want to say anything as they both thought that the other either wasn't interested or circumstances had changed and it was impossible for them to make their love public without causing a scandal. You could see the pain and love that they both felt for each other - it was bittersweet. It was so nice, and a year after they parted, he was still pining for the love of his life. Just a brilliant drama!
endlessab
quite funny for this drama. like almost all leading actors and actress. but i'm a little bit under impression for the ending episode.

This is one of my Favourite series! Gosh.

I just watched this Korean drama for the second time and I still loved it. Gong Chan is so handsome. It has the right combination of drama, comedy and of course romance. The story is simple yet very endearing. It's a must watch Korean Drama. One of the best I have seen. thumbsup.gif

I just started this series. Predicatable indeed. I wasnt suprise when there was the main girl and main guy. Then another guy liking the main girl and another girl liking the main guy. Its pretty much the repeat of many love drama series that ive seen. Though i dont mind really. I actually like plots like these. Its again predictable at parts, a lil sad here and there and sweet moments. What i liked was the funny and comedy points. Lee Da Hae's acting is so cute and funny at times.
I just started episode 11, just a few more and im done. I couldnt wait to find who was the missing granddaughter so i did some searching for spoilers. I was actually kinda dissapointed that Lee Da Hae wasnt the real granddaughter. Arrghhh. All those dropping hints and clues were just messing with my head. But im still gonna finish the rest and enjoy it.
This is a good kdrama. One of the best ones.
