I cannot really understand the idea of adding one more year to their age and 3 more years when they die. It's a little weird, haha. It's sad LDW--and other korean stars--are leaving soon though, it just doesn't seem to be the right time. Like you said, they're at their peak of acting career. Suddenly missing for straight 2 years definitely leaves a great impact. A lot of effort will be needed to regain their current status.

Snow Queen has a sad ending? Like verena_amber, I like happy endings as well. This is surprising as most dramas have a happy ending. Yeah, I notice our discussions are getting off-topic.

We crave for 'happily-ever-after' dramas, don't we most of the time? Yepp....in fact I cry quite a lot when 'plying' thru' SQ. Bora died. Han Tae-woong at least ends well by excelling in the academia. Sorry.........off-topic. Thinking back, I think it's pretty dumb to do so. Learn my lesson now. MG's ending satisfies most viewers cos' that's what I, you and others would like to see - SGC with YR. But some people root hard for Jung Woong (Lee Jun Ki) to end well with Yoo Rin, which I honestly beg to differ. Don't ask me why but the best male lead has to be LDW as Seol Gong Chan for Lee Da Hae as Yoo Rin. Still wondering whether they are truly an item in real life.

Congratulations! Finally you can listen to the OST on your ipod. I'm still experimenting with it. Not very technical savvy.

Wonder where he's gonna be stationed in the military. Is there an entertainment sort of section in the army where these K-stars can 'showcase' their talents? So as not to lose touch and base with what they are good at. I hate to think that they have to handle military equipment all day long. 2 years may sound long but time really flies; the next minute we see LDW is like he has completed his national service. The '3 years addition' to a person's age the day he/she kicks the bucket is very much a Chinese thingy. Wonder whether it has gone out-of-fashion cos' I don't hear my mum saying it anymore. This is carpy to me! Maybe age is a number people like to play and fool around with. Hahaha..........

Serving the army is inevitable for Korean males. Some k-stars try to dodge the notice but have been not that successful.

SAD, VERY SAD ENDING IN SQ! Female lead dies of a certain disorder which I think is cancer. Long medical name! I'm not satisfied with the ending in SQ. It makes you feel that after all the troubles the characters went through, they deserve a good ending certainly not death that keeps the loving parties apart unlike MG which ends on very happy note. I will re-write the ending if I'm the director of SQ! Hahaha........Gomenasai sorry off-topic!

My holiday is coming to an end very, very soon too and before it ends, I'd want to shower myself with more dramas. You won't be seeing me often anymore though.

Have you heard about the cliche.........a year older, a year wiser? There must be a reason for adding and not subtracting. Come to think abt. it..........what's the point of going to the tomb being wiser sort of. Can a person be wise 'there'? Naughty me! Sorry, Gomenasai!

There are tons of K-dramas where the leads' characters are 'killed off'. So I don't really expect a good ending sometimes to some of the K-dramas I've watched. MG 'buys' into the hearts of ppl because it has a captivating storyline which we can identify with: telling white lies to save our skins sometimes. We may not disguise or impersonate as another person given the chance but it's the lying part that we viewers can easily ascend to.

Really.........you'll die if GC didn't end up with YR??? I wouldn't be so drastic! Kekeke....... If SGC didn't end up with YR, most probably I would not choose MG as my most favourite drama! Something else will take its place! Hahaha........

Since you really like MG so much, there are a few 'cousins' of MG. I mean directed by the same person. Try 'SASSY GIRL - CHUANG YANG' or 'FANTASY COUPLE'. But they are not as popular as MG. Guess it depends on who actually leads right? LDW and LDH just have the right tandem in MG, and they are really compatible in MG! LDW actually prefers working with older actress but MG proves that he can work with both older and younger ones well.

I'm considered new to K-dramas actually, I've started watching not long ago and have only completed a few of the popular ones I've heard of. Dramas like Goong received many good reviews, though I think it's overrated--no offence. I used to watch more Taiwanese dramas but MG changed my direction. I guess you're right again, the storyline of MG is quite easy to relate to.
Haha! I think I exaggerated on the "dying" part of MG's ending but I would definitely see the drama differently then. Yes, it wouldn't be my favourite too if the ending wasn't as good. I was so glad everything turned out well.
When I was watching MG, i focused on them only as GC and JYR but after I finished, I too really want them to be together like people out there. Maybe I'm easily influenced, haha! Like you said though, they're really compatible! Really, LDW prefers working with older actress?

Oh God, LDW's mop-like hairstyle really cracks me up! HAHA. He looked silly! The two different versions of LDW are incomparable. Haha, I like his hairstyle in MG best.

Yepp, Lee dong Wook actually prefers co-starring with older actresses. His latest works as in movies before 'THAT MAN BOOK 198 PIECES', saw him with older ladies. They taught him quite a lot cos' they are seasoned actresses like Hyun-Yoong and Soon-Ah. According to him, younger female actresses usually need more 'pampering', something to that effect. So he might need to 'coach' them if the need arises. Have you watched ARANG and STRONGEST ROMANCE? Not too bad. At least we get to see him in another role as a cop.

Bye! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008.........

OMG I watched this series over Christmas break and wasnt expecting much, as I had already lost faith in people recommending me "good" korean dramas after the utter boredom and frustration I went through with Goong.
But…My Girl surprised me so much! I was addicted by episode 2, and it just kept getting better and better. The main girl is so funny and sweet, and the main guy is so handsome The series started out interesting and enjoyable with so many funny jokes, but as it progressed it also became meaningful and romantic.
The love between Yoo Rin and Gong Chan made my spine-tingle! lol, it is especially nice when they try to deny it (especially Gong Chan, when he first starts falling for her) but it's still so obvious on their faces. Their wonderful chemistry is undeniable, and the kiss scenes were the best! (I rewatched 10+ times, hehe)
Anyways, this series might even surpass Full House, which I watched a while back and was the only Korean drama I loved. Now, My Girl definitely makes the list, and I plan on rewatching the whole thing again when I have time. For me, this series was not draggy, overly sad, or boring even for a little bit. The impression it made on me made me feel very happy and light-hearted for a while afterwards.
Therefore, I was wondering, is there the remotest chance that there may be a sequel? I would leap and scream and sing in joy if there was. I just cannot get enough of My Girl, as you can tell from my unnecessarily long post.. I really think they can expand on the story more, and I want to see them get married! Anyways, plz tell me if anyone knows, thnk u and bye!

tracee245 so far i don't think there'll b any sequel to this drama.. think it probably might be a bit odd to have a sequel to.. imo. cos the story ended off quite nicely and as it is with sequels, i haven't really seen any sequel so far that can out-do the original! hehe sorry just my thoughts on it. i would have liked for the drama to b slightly longer though.. cos it was kinda short and i wanted to see more sweet GC-YR moments!!! i think i still haven't got enough of this cute couple and i want to see more of them!

Yeah! Your money really worth it! I just got my copy last last yesterday! You'll never regret it! Trust me!

Mukgu and Wookie look good together! Such a lovely couple! Hope there's a chance for another series.

omg! i just started watching this series and it's soo addicting!
it's so good...a liar hired to be a fake cousin and the grandfather becomes well! so unpredictable
it's so comical too, some scenes are amazing, this series brings u into the liar's world and what one has to do to cover up the lies

I just bought the series and I'm gonna watch it soon. I watched Princess Hours before and wanted to compare it with this series. Hearing all the good reviews, I don't think I'll be disappointed

I'm currently rewatching this drama. I love this drama. After that I'll rewatch Sassy Girl CH, Goong, FH...I miss them all. Older dramas are so good, so addicting. Newer dramas are kind of dissappointing, only a few are good.

Just got into this drama and I'm down to the last two episodes now. I'm so pumped to get home and finish it! I had no idea there would be a time jump so after skipping two years and Yu-rin skips across the street right in front of Gong-chan's car, I just about fainted. I'm so excited... you know, this drama started out pretty blandly for me. I had watched the first 5 or 6 and actually quit--that was like a year ago? But I forced myself to watch it again about a week ago and I've been going nonstop. I love this drama! Can't wait to see the end!

Episode 1 Summary

Yoo Rin attempts to stall a plane from taking off in order to allow a busload of late tourists under her care to board the plane in Jeju airport. Faking a terminal illness and a dying wish to see a supposed lover who's on the plane, Yoo Rin boards the plane and as a last ditch, faints beside Gong Chan. Seeing through her act, Gong Chan uses a pen to release Yoo Rin's grip from his seat handle so that the flight attendants could remove her from the plane. As Yoo Rin is being carried off, her tourists board the plane much to her relief.

Yoo Rin's gambler dad places hugh bets on horse #7 and losts. Loan sharks catch up to her dad, who manages to hide in a boat that is leaving the dock. The loan sharks go after Yoo Rin instead and in the midst of running away, Yoo Rin is almost knocked down by Gong Chan, who then takes her to the hospital. Gong Chan leaves his namecard with the nurse attending to Yoo Rin, who pretends to be asleep. The loan sharks search for Yoo Rin at the hospital but she manages to escape by hanging onto the back of an ambulance.

Realising that Gong Chan is the Director of the prestigious Avenue Hotel, Yoo Rin devices a plan to seek "compensation of the mental mind" from Gong Chan. She looks Gong Chan up at his hotel but is outsmarted when Gong Chan produces a doctor's report showing that the shock from the car accident rather than the accident itself caused her to faint earlier. He also returns her her bag that she had left behind at the hospital when she was running away from the loan sharks.

Having gone through her bag earlier, Gong Chan learns that Yoo Rin is a tour guide and is fluent in Mandarin, Korean and Japanese. As he is entertaining a group of Chinese-speaking businessmen that evening, he engages Yoo Rin's service as a translator.

i saw it at my friends house...and it is goooood! it is comedie but it have some sad moment jeh...but all of them is in the happy ending .

Anyway,aww why can't they avoid the whole military service but how many years will they have to do it though?cuz i want LDW back so maybe he can act with LDH in another drama.
They really do have chemistry and I really wish they were tgt but if its just really close friendship then thats fine but still..For the fact that they both denied it makes me not want to believe it..

For me, sort of. I just bought Chunyang and its like a continuation of MY Girl.
But its quite weird that the one who played the guy's parents on Chunyang were the one who also played Auntie and Mr. Jang in My Girl.

love this drama so much. love how they act, love the story line, love the actors. boy they really can express their roll really well. but there were lots of tears!!! but i would like Lee Da Hae with Lee Jun Ki. like them as a couple. they r both cute. where as Lee Dong Wook, he was kinda rough guy. but the more i look at him and know him the more i accept him and it kinda like, ok u can be with Lee Da Hae. Poor Lee Jun Ki......

I had MG marathon again, gee! I guess I really have to buy a new one, my copy is almost broken.. But I guess I'll just wait for the tagalized version, I heard ABS already released a Spring Waltz tagalized, then I guess they will release their previous series as well..

This was my first Korean drama & now my favorite! At first I thought it was a bit draggy but it wasn't at all! And I love the cast!

I too enjoyed watching this drama and its one of the best Korean dramas I have watched so far and would recommend to anyone who haven't started yet.
