My Girl is sooo good, it's funny and sad at the same time! I'm almost finished with it, and I don't want it to end because then I'll have nothing to watch. Lee Da Hae is really funny in it, everyone should definitely watch this series!

I am so glad that many ppl are enjoying this series but of course the popularity of this series is very well-deserved, no doubt due to the awesome chemistry between the LDW and LDH and the two type B hotties.

Wookie have alrdy missed out on the promotion of My Girl in Taiwan and he can redeem himself by showing up with Da Hae, provided if they are invited over to do the promotions.

I watched a clip of the first episode and it got me laughing so hard. Lee Da Hae is pretty and acts very cute in My Girl. I prefer her to end up with Lee Jun Ki in the end however.

lee da hae is great in this series. as for the other actors... they were okay but lee da hae made this series hilarious.

asalie - I know, I'm so addicted to My Girl, it's not even funny. Everyone did a great job, but the highlight of the drama for me was definitely Lee Da Hae. Not only did she NOT piss me off with her rendition of a cutesy character (unlike some actresses whose name shall not be mentioned but you probably know whom I'm talking about hint: it's someone both you and I dislike), but she had me completely in stitches during the funny scenes and in tears during the sad ones and it's really amazing to hear her speak mandarin so well. And yes, Lee Dong Wook is every bit the drool-worthy hottie that you said he is . There was this one scene of him that I found particularly memorable and that was when he found out that Yoo Rin had intentionally injured herself to avoid exposing the truth and afterwards he went to the roof of the hospital to clear his head. You could really sense his character's guilt and concern for the girl he's beginning to fall in love with.

Da A - yeah, i also signed the petition even though I don't live in the Philippines, but I do wish you guys over there the best with this venture. Besides, if they DO visit, there'll be more photo ops of them together

By the way, did anyone else find the coffee mug set that Yoo Rin gave to Gong Chan's aunt + uncle-in-law for their wedding present hilarious? Couldn't help but stare at them everytime they appear on screen

Okie, back to topic. Seriously, I didn't started off liking Lee Da Hae. To be honest, I dislike her from Sweet 18 cos of her character and her bland acting. In fact, I only brought the series for the sake of seeing wookie onscreen.

I am going to get down to Lee Da Hae's acting now. (Pls, no tomatoes aimed my way) I cringed for the first few episodes whenever she does the cutesy stuff as I felt that she has overacted and strikes me as trying too hard to imitate Song Hae Gyo's acting style as Ji Eun in Full House at first. Maybe its the similaries in both of their characters but Lee Da Hae's cutesy acting wasn't as natural as Hae Gyo's. Or perhaps it has to do with her mature appearance (I personally think that she looks way older than 22 years old ) Okie, whatever the case is... But after the first three episodes, she seems to slip into her role with ease and her cutesy scenes becomes more natural.

As the series progressed, I don't see the similaries in the characters anymore. Da Hae has truly made Yoo Rin her own character. And I am glad/proud to say that Da Hae's acting has done the lovable and adorable Yoo Rin justice. She makes the audience laugh along at Yoo Rin's various antics and have them in tears seeing Yoo Rin suffering in silence while holding back her love for Gong Chan. Her acting has improved a lot since Sweet 18. Haa.

And yes, the mugs are really cute. I couldn't resist grinning whenever they clicked their cups together. I absolutely love Gong Chan's aunt and uncle. They made a hilarious pair. Gina, if you love them in this series, you shld watch Sassy Girl Chun Hyang as they are also paired up, but with different roles. Gong Chan's uncle as the strict, no-nosense yet with a gentle side dad and Gong Chan's aunt as the forever-doting and siding with her son kind of mum.

Same here. I didn't like LDH at first because I thought of her as a serious actress (having seen her in "Green Rose" and all). I admit I found her annoying during the first three episodes. But after the third episode, I started liking her and her acting already.

towards the last few episodes, when she was in the airport planning to leave dong chan...wow her cry was so fantastic...she can really act!!!hehe

asalie - I think it's because I never watched Full House (although been meaning to for an eternity now) and never saw any of LDH's earlier's work that enabled me to have a good opinion of her right from the start. I know what you mean about LDH's age though. I have to admit that I was initially taken aback when I found out that she born in '84.

And yeah, I'll definitely give Sassy Girl Chun Hyang a try, having heard many favorable reviews about it and I completely trust your recommendations after you introduced me to My Girl, LOL.

I finished this series last week. The first time I heard of it was in a thread of "My Girl VS. MNIKSS". Now, I had watched MNKISS, so it was my current korean obsession. I wanted to beat up whoever said My Girl was better! (Of course, I will change my opinion otherwise). Then, I watched Full House and found it similiar to MNKISS, but it was enjoyable (I thought it copied MNIKSS until I realized it was made a year before). Finally, I prepared myself for My Girl. The beginning was just original! I found a lot of similiarities/combos between Full House&MNIKSS, perfect recipe for addiction! I have to say, I just loved Lee Jun Ki in here. Despite his feminine looks, I just loved his character! I started researching on him after a few episodes. Looking at the cover/posters for the movies, I was so afraid of him ending up with Park... whatever that Sae Hyun girl (btw, I find her acting a thumbs down. Her expressions seem to be the same 'annoyed'/'jealous' look) because they stood next to each other. Gosh, whenever they were at a bar together or something I wanted to scream. Haha. Luckily, he managed to stay loyal to 'Ju Yoo Rin' (Lee Da Hae). At some points, I really wanted Jeong Woo and Roo Yin to end up together but I couldn't help but understand that Roo Yin and Gong Chan were meant to be together >_<. I do enjoy their chemistry. Stumbling upon this thread a few days back, I heard talk of Lee Jun Ki & Lee Da Hae dating after the show. Is it confirmed??? I would love to know.

Also, I REALLY want to hear Lee Jun Ki sing. I kept mistakening that the OSTs of My Girl were sung by him since it just fit his scenes so well.

just watched this series and i must say i am totally a fan now

wasn't convinced at first even when my friend told me it was an amazing show but now that i havewatched it i am totally sold

its such a cute story..and i love how unlike a lot of romcoms this show showed how the two leads slowly fell in love with each other and how they both began to realize and become aware of their feelings

it felt so natural and unforced...ldh was so convincing and funny and ldw was awseome as the 'cool 'guy

for the first time in a long while i found myself actually rooting for the main guy instead of the second male lead (whom i almost always inevitably root for: i.e. lets go to the beach, oh pil seung, full house)

i loved the cameo appearance of jae hee and han chae-young - i found that so funny and it was so cute how they ended with yoo ri and gong chan making that heart with their hands =)

definitely a memorable drama and its right up there in my list of favorite k-dramas along with all about eve, full house, and my sassy girl chun-hyang

the main character just annoyed me. how can someone be so shameless. =_=;

Hi Melissa nguyen, really? where did you read that they're dating? I think they become close when they were shooting this drama, closer than Lee Dong Wook. In fact, I read that she sometimes was the one putting a make-up or helping him out to do it.

I'm glad that there are more posts about how people love this show. I went here weeks ago after I finished watching My Girl for the second time and was quite disappointed that there are not many posts, then I figure it must be because lots of people have not finished watching it.

Well, what can I say... I totally fall hopelessly in love with this series. Everything is just so perfect, from the comedy, the romance, the chemistry, the actors and actress, and the acting. The setting is pretty good too. It has been one month now, but I am still rewatching this series over and over again and whenever I put down the remote when I finished one round, I miss it again.

That's probably enough ranting, but I can't help but just to comment on how I think LDH had done so well to make Yoo Rin to live and hers. I also think LDW's GC is well-done and I enjoy their chemistry. I didn't find LDH annoying at all from 1st three episodes like some of you said. And I never think that she copied SHK at all. In fact, I have always thought that LDH acts better than SHK. Well, LDH moves me more. Perhaps I watched My Girl before Sweet 18, that's why I'm not prejudiced against her.

I agree with those that think the aunt and uncle are funny. Usually I would find this kind of sub-plot to be annoying but surprisingly this time, I quite enjoy it. And yes, the mugs are cute and hilarious I thought it fits them perfectly. Such a cool gift from Yoo Rin.

By the way, does anyone knows why LDW didn't get to Taiwan to promote My Girl? It's rather disappointing and they should have at least sent Jun Ki if LDW couldn't make it. But it would still have been much better if LDW went. Best if three of them went.

LDH and LDW are such a cute couple. I loved the part where LDH tells LDW to close his eyes and count. When he finished counting and opened his eyes, he saw LDH. AHHHhh unrequitted love is so beautiful...

i just finished watching My Girl and i LOVED IT. it was really funny and i think her acting skills were pretty good. i mean i def. cried durin those parts where Gong Chan is pained by the fact that he loves her but cant be with her because of the cousin thing.
loved it so much that i even want to go buy a copy for myself just to have, since i watched it on youtube.

Akazukin: slightly off-topic, but are you a fan or previously was a fan of Tavia? Cos I have seen you ard before. Actually, the My Girl thread is pretty popular in AF, its just behind Goong and Full House but I am sure it will catch up in time when more have watched this drama.

My Girl is a really good drama overall, it doesn't get too draggy and best of all, it actually shows how the characters gradually fall in love with each other. But its the casting that makes all the difference. The leads nailed down their roles perfectly and I doubt I would have liked this drama if it is done with a different cast. I certainly couldn't imagine anyone else playing Gong Chan other than wookie, even though he's a last minute replacement for the original male lead. Lucky for us fans.

Actually, I think Wookie is still single even though there are rumours of him having a gf but I know for sure that Da Hae is single. But Da Hae has said that her r/s with Wookie is more of brothers and sisters kind and that if she has to chose between Wookie and Jun Ki, she will chose Jun Ki.

And for those who don't have a copy of My Girl, go get one copy. This is one drama you will be rewatching over and over again.

Hi asalie, yes I'm a Tavia fan and still is. It's just that recently there is no Tavia series out and I have been busy get hooked with MG and rewatched it like countless times. Gosh... I tell you I'm just so crazily in love with MG.

I never knew that LDW is a last-minute replacement. Even now when I watch it, it still seems that the role is just created for him. I can never imagine anyone else as GC and of course can NEVER imagine anyone else as YR. I mean YR is an interesting character by herself, but LDH makes her even more interesting. Sometimes I even get quite annoyed by people claiming LDH mimick SHK from Full House because I think LDH has much more various and unique expressions than SHK (no offense). But how can you mimick something that does not exist before?

I know, LDH is closer to JK than DW, but LDH and LDW seem to reunite more times than JK and LDH. Well, I'm not exactly a fan of JK although I'm okay with him. He seems cool in real life and is smart in making funny comments along with the adorable LDH. LDW seems very serious, he just keeps smiling when he is around LDH. He should warm up more and charm LDH so LDH can change her mind. Hahaha... another craze of mine. I wish they can be at least as close as Tavia and Ron though, that would be great.

They should also air more NG scenes and provide subtitle for it though. I have seen those in Youtube and they are hilarious, especially where LDH and LDW were supposed to film the scene of YR's imagination where GC was crying and wailing after being "raped" by YR and LDW was too excited that he fell off the bed. Hahaha...

Asalie: Yes, I have seen LDW making jokes but I still think he is a bit serious. I think his jokes are rather safe and serious, while JK is more flirtatious. I think the reason why I'm not so pro LDH-LJK is because I agree that LJK is the most beautiful man in Korea and I have always prefer the typical "handsome" or good-looking type more.

Thanks to Da A and asalie for all the great My Girl and LDH/LJK goodies! Even though I was rooting for LDH and LDW in My Girl, I was delighted to find out that LDH and Junki had a close relationship off-screen, which in my experience is an unusual phenomenon since I often become so obsessed with the main onscreen couple that all other couplings become unacceptable, LOL. Fortunately, I'm slowly but steadily shedding such close-mindedness. But LDH and Junki are adorable together during the behind-the-scene clips of My Girl with the way they make friendly jabs at each other and LDH applying makeup on Junki . Despite that, however, my affection for LDH + LDW is still stronger, though just by a little bit, LOL.

asalie - please do post up pics of the snowman scene. I thought it was quite cute of Junki to spin his way onto the bench next to the snowman and somehow made it look suave and smooth and not at all awkward.

Totally off-topic, but loving your TR banner . Maybe it's my rapidly decreasing interest in FungYi and particularly Raymond, but I'm really starting to like TR, whose fun relationship is reminiscent of LDH and Junki's.

I'd have to watch Full House before I can make a more comprehensive comparison of LDH and SHK, but based solely on facial/physical appearances, I do agree with you that LDH fits her role better than SHK since LDH possesses a cuter face IMO.

i only started to watch this series because of its title. i wasn't looking for a korean series that would make me depressed and "my girl" seemed to be perfect. not only does it have a beautiful cast, but it's cute and funny, and impressive chemistry and performances.
lee da hae is awesome. i laughed so hard at the part where she made herself fall down the stairs to avoid going to japan. her figure when she landed was hiliarious!

tis series was awesome. i decided to go buy it haha. can't wait to have it in my hands. it's so memorable and there never was a dull moment. highly recommended!!
